Abstract

The Uyghur Muslims of Xinjiang, People's Republic of China, suffered under the communist rule of Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Zhu Rongji, and Xi Jinping for decades. Thankfully, most people don't know about this. Uyghur Muslims continue to endure allegations and stigmatization for standing up to China's lengthy history of oppression and massacre. Unfortunately, there is less international compassion for the Uyghur crisis. This paper uses a descriptive-analytical qualitative technique based on data obtained from interviews, documents, and library studies to track the upheaval among Uyghur Muslims as it progresses from terrorist activities to concerns about nationalism. As a result of their tragic situation, thousands of Uyghur Muslims have fled to neighboring countries in search of humanitarian solutions; they are currently residing in diaspora in places like Turkey, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and so on. As a result of their terrible situation in China, thousands of Uyghur Muslims have fled to diasporas in that places, in search of humanitarian answers without certainty of their future.

Abstract

The offer of the ideal form of the state continues to be championed by various community organizations in Indonesia, radically and clandestinely. This study explores the moral transvaluation of the Nationality of community organizations through in-depth research of community organizations' interpretations of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. The author argues that community organizations have and are carrying out moral transvaluations that utilize state power to realize the ideology of community organizations. This normative legal research uses a statutory approach to answer research questions and uses Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution to assess the moral transvaluation of the Nationality of community organizations. Based on the study's results, the moral transvaluation of community organizations is caused by first-past defeats due to global and national political inferiority. Second, community organizations seize various government positions for the sake of ideologization. The community needs to know the moral transvaluation of the Nationality of community organizations to strengthen the values of unity, justice, and even humanity in the nation, state, and religion.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss community support for money politics in the simultaneous village head election. Community support for money politics in village head elections is still found. Society accepts, even supports money politics and considers this to be normal. This research is field research with a qualitative approach. Data was obtained through indirect observation, focus group discussions (FGD), and unstructured interviews. Interviews were conducted with religious leaders, community leaders, village head candidates and village heads. The data analysis stages were carried out using interpretation analysis techniques. As a result, public support for money politics results in changes in people's behavior who tend not to be active in development. Because society has a transactional mindset, so the election of village heads is carried out on the basis of economic transactions alone. Money politics occurs as a result of weak political education.

Abstract

This research explores the level of construction of Islamic Socialism in the Peneleh Activist Organization, both in terms of conceptual thinking and its application in the organization. This study aims to explore the ideology and value system that exists in thought to be a trigger for the revival of an organization’s moral spirit. This study used Berger's sociology of knowledge approach, which focuses on reality and knowledge. Meanwhile, this research applies qualitative case study methods. The study reveals that the practice of Islamic Socialism by Peneleh Activists is a follow-up to all big ideas regarding the unification of Religion and Ideology in today's social life. However, to make this happen, Peneleh Activists did not work alone. However, they succeeded in reaching an agreement in formulating the idea of Islamic Socialism in a cooperative scheme with other organizations. Thus, the construction of Islamic socialism carried out by Peneleh Activists not only focuses on reactualizing HOS Tjokroaminoto's ideas but also integrates new elements that are appropriate to current social and economic conditions and accommodate changes in practice and policy. This finding strengthens previous studies showing that Islamic Socialism is not just an intellectual movement, but also has a strong social dimension (İkiz, 2019). The construction of Islamic Socialism H.O.S Tjokroaminoto by Peneleh Activists has also expanded the interpretation of Islamic Socialism. Previously, Islamic Socialism tended to be a concept that only had the power of values as a guide to beliefs. This study reveals Islamic Socialism as a concept-building and practical step in organizational social activities. This study also contributes to building tactical steps toward achieving the ideals of Islamic socialism, namely independence (vrijheid-liberty), equality (gelijkheid-equalty), and brotherhood (broederschap-fraternity).

Abstract

This article examines the failure of the Arab Spring and the extent to which post-Arab Spring changes in authority have an impact on political and economic stability in the Middle East region such as Tunisia, Libya, Syria, Egypt and Yemen. The data in this research was collected from primary and secondary materials as well as field facts. Using a sociological-political and juridical-empirical approach, this article concludes that there are a number of factors in the failure of the Arab Spring, namely the unpreparedness of the Arab people in implementing a democratic system considering that they have used a monarchical system for centuries, there is domestic and regional polarization between countries in the Arab region. due to the pros and cons of the concept of democratization, and also the existence of foreign intervention. This article also finds evidence that changes in authority after the Arab Spring have actually had an impact on political and economic instability due to strengthening tribalism and competition between political elites in fighting for power after the fall of the previous regime. Apart from that, this research found another fact that the differences in economic conditions between countries in the Middle East region are not completely influenced by the chosen state system, although the democratization transition has also influenced political stability and then had an impact on the country's economic stability.

Abstract

This research stems from Mahkamah Konstitusi’s decision to change the electoral constitution when the election stage was already underway. Netizens then discussed the decision of the Majelis Kehormatan Mahkamah Konstitusi (MKMK) which decided that the chairman of the Constitutional Court violated the code of ethics when hearing the election constitutional lawsuit. The election organizer (KPU RI) also did not escape the discussion of netizens after being decided to violate the code of ethics by Dewan Kehormatan Penyelenggara Pemilu (DKPP). The conversations of netizens on X/Twitter regarding the Chief Justice of the MK, MKMK, and the Chairman of the KPU were collected using NodeXL, then described in the form of tables and descriptions. The communication network analysis method was chosen as a data analysis tool. X/Twitter was used as a means of expressing opinions and disseminating information related to the 2024 elections. Netizens' conversations about the Chief Justice of the MK, MKMK, and the Chairman of the KPU signal the danger of democracy in Indonesia.
