Abstract

This study examines the practice of mimicry in the phenomenon of child marriage as represented in the novel Yuni by Ade Ubaidil. Mimicry is understood as a postcolonial concept proposed by Homi K. Bhabha, referring to the partial imitation of dominant values, norms, and discourses that produces ambivalence and identity negotiation. The novel Yuni portrays the social realities of rural Indonesian society, where child marriage is normalized through cultural traditions, religious interpretations, and economic pressures. This research aims to reveal how the characters in the novel perform mimicry toward patriarchal values and moral discourses legitimized by social authorities, and how such mimicry functions as a form of apparent compliance, survival strategy, or subtle resistance. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method using a postcolonial theoretical approach, particularly Bhabha’s concept of mimicry. The data consist of narrative descriptions, dialogues, and character portrayals related to child marriage and female identity construction. The analysis is conducted through critical and interpretative textual reading. The findings indicate that mimicry in Yuni not only reinforces unequal power relations but also creates spaces of ambivalence that allow the emergence of critical awareness toward gender injustice. This study contributes to the understanding of power, identity, and resistance in contemporary Indonesian literary studies.

Abstract

This study examines how religiosity and social support shape the identities and impact the well-being of transgender people in Javanese Muslim society. This research uses a qualitative approach and employs in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, direct observations, and documentation within transgender communities in Yogyakarta and Central Java. This study included 11 transgender individuals from Yogyakarta and Central Java. The study reveals that transgender identity is formed through adaptation and negotiation within families, schools, social circles, and religious communities. Family and community support are key to maintaining mental health and social relationships, whereas limited gender norms and strongly held religious views restrict the social space for transgender people. This study stresses that the well-being of transgender people is not only affected by psychological and economic factors but also by positive social acceptance and access to inclusive places of worship. These results contribute to an integrative understanding of gender, religiosity, and social support within the Javanese socio-religious context.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of Laura Mulvey’s male gaze in the Indonesian film Photocopier (2021), directed by Wregas Bhanuteja, through the framework of visual pleasure and narrative cinema. Other studies on Photocopier have explored semiotic representation, technology-enabled objectification, multimodal communication, critical discourse analysis, and cinematic techniques. However, none of them have systematically disclosed the psychoanalytic mechanisms of scopophilic pleasure and narcissistic identification occurring in the film’s narrative structure. This study employs a qualitative approach that combines Mulvey’s male gaze theory, Bordwell and Thompson’s film analysis method, Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis, and Rose’s visual methodology. This study scrutinizes selected scenes involving sexual harassment, objectification, and male-female interactions. The findings reveal that male characters systematically perform scopophilic violence through digital technology while continuously constructing narcissistic self-images disguised as artistry, paternalism, or economic survival. Notably, the film refuses to reproduce scopophilic pleasure for its audience through its cinematography. The film positions viewers as empathetic witnesses rather than voyeurs. The study further highlights how the copier machine functions as a central metaphor in this narrative, transforming from an instrument of violation into a tool of feminist resistance, as shown in the final scenes. These findings offer a meaningful contribution to the growing psychoanalytic film discourse within Indonesian cinema scholarship. Furthermore, this study proves that Mulvey’s concept is not a finished framework but rather a generative one. It requires cultural and technological adaptation when applied beyond its original Western context.

Abstract

Poverty remains a complex social issue that requires integrated handling by various parties. In this context, the Samarinda City Government developed the Social Security Number (SSN) Program as a regional policy innovation to strengthen social protection and expand access to assistance for underprivileged communities. This study aims to analyze the implementation of collaborative governance in the execution of the Social Security Number (SSN) Program in Samarinda City as an effort to alleviate poverty. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that collaborative governance in the implementation of the Social Security Number (SSN) program has run quite well, marked by a clear division of roles among actors, ongoing coordination, and community involvement in the implementation process. However, the collaborative governance process in the implementation of this program is still functionally administrative, where the planning of collaborative actions and decision-making is still dominated by the government sector, while other sectors play a role by waiting for established instructions and directions. The implementation of the Social Security Number (SSN) Program involves various cross-sector actors, such as the Samarinda City Communication and Information Office, the Samarinda City Social and Community Empowerment Office, Bank Kaltimtara, Perumda Varia Niaga, Districts, Sub-districts, Neighborhood Leaders (RT), E-Warung, and the community. In its implementation, the Social Security Number (SSN) program contributes to reducing poverty through the provision of non-cash food assistance, which helps alleviate the financial burden of poor communities. Nevertheless, the implementation of the program still faces several challenges, such as data dynamics and inaccuracies, technical constraints in using EDC machines, limited public understanding, and the establishment of SSN data as a reference data that is still not uniform.

Abstract

The dialogue between President Prabowo and six leading media editors-in-chief (Dialog Presiden Prabowo Menjawab, PPM Dialogue) as a political communication and Prabowo’s political marketing strategy can be seen as an exchange of resources between Prabowo as an actor in the government’s political market arena and the editors-in-chief as actors in the media’s political market arena. This study conducted a preliminary evaluation of dialogue as political marketing using the Social Exchange Theory framework and political communication concepts. This study found that the exchange of resources took place under conditions of flexible and dynamic agreements, with the power to determine the greater terms resting with Prabowo. Both actors expressed satisfaction with the ongoing exchange, although public evaluations indicated that there were still aspects that needed to be improved. The greater imbalance gained by both actors in the exchange compared to the costs incurred indicates that the Dialog PPM as political marketing has succeeded in achieving its objectives. Therefore, the prospect of continuing open dialogue in the future is promising.

Abstract

The probit model is commonly used to study categorical response data. However, failing to account for spatial autocorrelation factors between regions can lead to inconsistent and biased parameter estimation results. This study focuses on examining the parameter estimation of the Spatial Autoregressive (SAR) Probit model through the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method using the Fisher Scoring numerical iteration scheme. The model was implemented on poverty data across 131 regencies/cities in the Sumatra region for 2022. Empirical findings indicate that the GRDP growth rate, open unemployment rate, per capita expenditure, and expected years of schooling significantly affect the poverty rate. The results of this model development provide a prediction accuracy of 83.97%. This achievement is superior to that of the RIS Simulator technique, which only yields an accuracy of 74.05%. These results emphasize the advantages of the efficiency and accuracy of the Fisher Scoring approach in representing spatial dependencies in the poverty phenomenon in Sumatra.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the production capacity, financial management literacy, and digital marketing skills among members of the Family Welfare Empowerment group in Matara Village by developing fish nuggets as a value-added processed product utilizing local fisheries potential. The program was implemented using a participatory approach through educational and training activities, including program socialization, fish nugget production training, simple financial management training, and digital marketing training. The activities were conducted at the Matara Village Hall and involved 20 participants from the local community group. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants understanding of hygienic production techniques, their ability to maintain simple financial records, and their use of social media as a platform for product promotion. The integration of production training, financial management, and digital marketing also encouraged the development of household enterprises utilizing fisheries products and expanded opportunities for marketing processed products. This activity contributed to strengthening the capacity of community-based enterprises and supported the development of economic independence through the utilization of local resource potential in Matara Village.

Abstract

The crisis of public trust due to massive financial scandals demands a fundamental transformation in financial reporting architecture. Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative solution owing to its decentralization, real-time transparency, and immutability. This study aims to analyze the implementation of blockchain in enhancing accounting transparency through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA 2020 protocol. The analysis was conducted on 42 high-quality articles filtered from Scopus, Sinta, and Garuda databases (2016–2026) and evaluated using the JBI Critical Appraisal instrument. The findings reveal three main mechanisms through which blockchain enhances transparency: Triple-Entry Accounting (TEA), real-time audit automation, and the reduction of information asymmetry. TEA introduces a layer of cryptographic verification ("trebit/hash") for each transaction, ensuring data immutability and reliability. In addition, smart contracts significantly reduce agency costs by automating compliance processes (i.e., compliance by design). In Indonesia, this adoption momentum is strengthened by the issuance of the Crypto Asset Implementation Bulletin by DSAK IAI (October 2025) and Financial Services Authority or Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) regulations regarding asset tokenization (September 2025). However, challenges such as high investment costs, gaps in accounting competencies, and infrastructure limitations outside urban areas remain significant barriers. This study contributes to the literature by providing an integrated framework that links technological mechanisms, regulatory readiness, and implementation challenges. It also recommends the development of specific Audit Standards (SA) for on-chain digital evidence to accelerate the transformation of the national digital accounting ecosystem.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of personal data protection in Indonesia, focusing on the concept of dignified justice. This is motivated by the rampant incidents of personal data breaches that cause material and immaterial losses and question the extent to which the existing legal framework can guarantee individual rights fairly and with dignity. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) in realizing dignified justice and to identify challenges and opportunities in its implementation. This study uses a normative legal research method with a statutory and conceptual approach to analyze regulations, legal doctrines, and related case studies. The main findings indicate that although the PDP Law has been a significant step forward, there are still gaps in its implementation, especially regarding mechanisms for restoring victims’ rights, the transparency of data processing, and the accountability of data controllers, which have not fully reflected the principle of dignified justice. The implementation of personal data protection is often hampered by the public’s low digital literacy and the suboptimal capacity of law enforcement. Ultimately, to achieve personal data protection based on dignified justice, compliance with regulations and strengthening human rights values in every aspect of data handling, from collection to dispute resolution, by prioritizing individual dignity, are required.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture, competence, and leadership on employee work ethic in the General Affairs Division of the PSDMPK-PMP Secretariat, Ministry of Education and Culture. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all 60 employees, applying a saturated sampling technique. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The findings indicate that organizational culture, competence, and leadership each have a positive and significant effect on work ethic. Organizational culture shows a strong correlation with work ethic (r = 0.629), competence demonstrates a moderate relationship (r = 0.368), and leadership exhibits the strongest correlation (r = 0.716). Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence work ethic, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.745, indicating that 74.5% of the variance in work ethic can be explained by organizational culture, competence, and leadership. Furthermore, the results reveal that organizational support is the most influential indicator within organizational culture, cognitive and non-academic abilities dominate competence, and discipline along with participative decision-making are key aspects of leadership. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening organizational culture, enhancing employee competence, and maintaining effective leadership practices to improve work ethic.This study contributes to the field of human resource management by providing empirical evidence on the relationship between organizational factors and work ethic in the public sector.
