Abstract

Background: The study addresses the lack of understanding among teachers regarding the values of anti-corruption education implemented in schools. This is evident from the minimal knowledge of teachers regarding acts of corruption normalized in educational environments, especially in early childhood education (ECE).Aims: The objective of this community service activity is to disseminate anti-corruption values, which are often normalized in educational settings. Methods: The methods used in this activity were workshops and evaluations of teachers' knowledge of anti-corruption values, which are often conducted in early childhood education settings. Results: The findings showed that early childhood teachers at TKIT Baitul Izzah have taught anti-corruption values through daily activities, although in practice there are still some activities that are considered normal, such as accepting gifts from parents. This is due to the belief that gifts from others, including parents, should not be refused. As for the teachers' understanding after participating in the community service program, it increased from 41.8% to 86.5%.Conclusion: These results show that teachers' understanding of anti-corruption education values has begun to improve, as evidenced by the awareness demonstrated by teachers after participating in the outreach activities.

Abstract

Background: Poor sanitation is one of the main causes of the high prevalence of stunting and infectious diseases, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. Community-Based Total Sanitation (CBTS) is a strategic approach that involves active community participation in creating a clean and healthy environment through five main pillars: stopping open defecation, handwashing with soap, safe management of drinking water and food, household waste management, and household liquid waste management.Aims: The goal of this activity is to strengthen CBTS (Comprehensive Integrated Service Delivery System) in preventing stunting and reducing the risk of infection spread. Methods: The method used in this research was health education on strengthening CBTS, encompassing the stages of planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Results: Results show that before the intervention, the average knowledge score of respondents was 2.88 with a standard deviation of 0.71 and a standard error of 0.14. After the intervention, the average score increased to 4.35 with a standard deviation of 0.63 and a standard error of 0.12. The increase in the average score of 1.46 points indicates that the intervention had a positive impact on increasing respondents' knowledge. Conclusion: This CBTS strengthening education program can increase public understanding and knowledge about CBTS and its relationship to stunting in toddlers. Through synergy between the government, the community, and other stakeholders, CBTS can become a sustainable solution to address complex public health issues. Practical strategies for strengthening CBTS in local communities, including community empowerment, and community-based education, are needed.

Abstract

Background: Although the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) program has been implemented since 2020, it continues to faces several challenges, especially in terms of socialization and information accessibility.Aims: This community service program aimed to support underprivileged students in accessing higher education through the KIP-K scholarship scheme. Methods: The activity targeted 12 eligible students at SMA Negeri 6 Ternate on May 21, 2025. The intervention consisted of two phases: (1) socialization and motivational sessions explaining KIP-K requirements and procedures, and (2) hands-on mentoring where students created accounts and uploaded documents via smartphones. A WhatsApp group was used for two weeks of follow-up, troubleshooting, and document collection. Program success was measured by account creation, completion of required data fields, and timely submission. Results: A total of 12 students (100%) successfully registered for KIP-K, completed the required data fields, and selected study programs. The WhatsApp group effectively facilitated real-time support, especially in gathering and uploading documents from home. Conclusion: This program effectively increased student motivation and digital literacy to register for KIP-K. Community-based digital mentoring has proven to be a practical approach to promoting access to higher education.

Abstract

Background: Science Process Skills (SPS) are important competencies in science learning because they emphasize students' critical, analytical, and practical thinking skills. However, the practice of SPS assessment in schools is still limited, mainly due to the dominance of conventional instruments and the limited use of digital technology.Aims: This community service activity aimed to improve the understanding and skills of junior high school science teachers in Langsa City to develop and implement technology-based SPS assessments.Method: This community service activity was a training and mentoring-based program which consisted of four main stages: socialization, training, technology implementation, and mentoring and evaluation, involving 25 science teachers as participants. This approach not only provided knowledge transfer but also ensured real implementation in the field through practical activities and continuous feedback. The evaluation instruments consisted of pretests and posttests, assessment products (student worksheets, rubrics, and SPS questions), and participant response questionnaires. Results: The results of the activity showed an increase in the average pretest score from 60.4 to 92.8 on the posttest with an N-gain value of 0.8 (high category). In addition, more than 85% of teachers responded positively to the activity. Conclusion: These findings indicate that training in developing SPS assessments integrating the Smart Performance Assessment (SAPA) platform, Canva, and ChatGPT has proven effective in strengthening teachers' competencies, both conceptually and practically, thereby supporting improvements in the quality of science learning.

Abstract

Background: A gap in adapted physical education services for children with mild intellectual disabilities remains a challenge, particularly in terms of teachers' ability to design engaging and meaningful lessons.Aims: This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with KKG SLB Kebumen with the aim of improving the competence of physical education teachers through training in adventure education-based learning models using digital flipbook modules.Method: The program was implemented in five stages, namely socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, and sustainability. The flipbook module contains four educational games Ambenbol, Bowna, Spomas, and Lampubol designed to develop motor, communication, and socio-emotional skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities. Results: The pretest–posttest results showed a significant improvement in four aspects of teacher competency: adaptive learning design (increased by 25%), application of game-based learning (25%), motor development evaluation (22%), and utilization of digital technology (37%).Conclusion: These findings indicate that the use of flipbooks can strengthen teachers' creativity and increase student participation in adaptive physical activities. This activity contributes to improving the quality of inclusive learning in special needs schools and serves as a model for continuous training for physical education teachers in various regions. A follow-up program is recommended to expand the use of interactive technology and strengthen the collaborative network between inclusive schools.
