Abstract

Waste management in West Pasaman Regency encounters significant challenges, including limited infrastructure, low public awareness, and inadequate coordination among agencies. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing waste management in the region using the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) approach. The findings indicate that Government Policy, Waste Management Infrastructure, and Budget Allocations for Waste Management are the most influential factors in the waste management system. Conversely, factors such as Public Awareness and Private Sector Participation are more reliant on existing policies and infrastructure. Furthermore, this analysis elucidates the causal relationships among these factors and emphasizes the complex interactions inherent in waste management. Based on these insights, it is recommended that waste management policies be reinforced, budgets be augmented, and both infrastructure and community education programs be enhanced to achieve more effective and sustainable waste management. This study contributes to the formulation of a more integrated waste management policy, grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the interplay of factors at the local level.

Abstract

The palm oil industry, in addition to producing the main product of CPO, also generates large amounts of solid waste (biomass). Palm biomass is a type of renewable energy that can be utilized as fuel for biomass power plants (PLTBS - Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Biomassa Sawit). Empty fruit bunches (TKKS) have significant energy potential as fuel for electricity generators. The energy potential of TKKS can be seen from its calorific value, which is 18,795 kJ/kg. The heating value of dry TKKS is 18.8 MJ/kg, with an energy conversion efficiency of 25%, which is equivalent to 2.3 Mwe. Financial calculations for all criteria show a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 65,582,439, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 15%, and a Payback Period (PBP) of 4.98 years, indicating that the effort to convert palm biomass into electricity is still financially viable.

Abstract

Effective and sustainable waste management is a major challenge in meeting increasingly stringent environmental regulations. This study aims to evaluate the waste management policy at the TPA Air Dingin using a weighted SWOT analysis, considering the factors of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Based on the weighting results, the strength (2.05) and opportunity (2.05) factors indicate significant potential for improving waste management, particularly through supportive regulations and technological advancements. Meanwhile, weaknesses (1.05) and threats (1.35), including low community participation and increasing waste volume, represent challenges that need to be addressed. Strategic recommendations include leveraging waste management technology, enhancing recycling facilities, and conducting awareness campaigns to increase public participation. The findings of this study are expected to provide strategic directions for improving waste management policies at TPA Air Dingin in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.

Abstract

Background of the study: The development of mechanical engineering is currently increasing very rapidly. This is especially true for the variation of design programs through computerized systems. One of the programs on the computer in designing images is the AutoCad program. This image design is very important to be applied to mechanical engineering programs, including piston manufacturing. The piston is the core of the working process of an engine in a motor vehicle. The purpose of this study is to Create Autodesk Autocad 2022 Motorcycle Pistons. The research method is qualitative. The findings showed that the Creation of Autodesk Autocad 2022 Motorcycle Pistons consists of several components including (E) Exhaust Camshaf Intake Camshaft, (S) Bosi (V) Valves (valve) (P) Piston Connecting rod, (C) Camshaft rod, (C) Camshaft, (W) water sheath for cooling flow. The implication of this study is that Autodesk Autocad 2022 Motorcycle Pistons in 2023 consist of several interacting components.

Abstract

Regional advancement is underpinned by human development. Its constituent dimensions encompass health, education, and decent living standards. Based on Human Development Index, this study aims to classify 35 regencies in Central Java. The clustering algorithm utilizes Block-based K-Medoids, employing the Elbow Method to determine the optimal number of clusters and applying the Euclidean Distance to calculate object distances. Through four iterations, the study yields three optimal clusters. Cluster 1 (high category) comprises 4 members, cluster 2 (medium category) consists of 15 members, and cluster 3 (low category) encompasses 16 members. Cluster 1 demonstrates satisfactory achievements in each dimension of human development. Cluster 2 requires improvement in its educational dimension, particularly regarding the average length of schooling indicator. Cluster 3 demands greater attention to enhance educational and decent living standards dimension.

Abstract

Al Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park is an area located in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District. The area is designed as a center for learning activities, practicum, research, service and innovation center of Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi. To support all these activities, various supporting facilities are also designed, one of which is a mixed use building that will be placed in the main plaza of the area which is planned to be the center of activity for the entire area. The Mixed Use building is a combination of buildings with different functions, a combination of residential, commercial, and cultural buildings that are planned. The research will describe the concepts used in designing Mixed Use buildings in the main plaza of the area, which can support all activities planned in the Al Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park area.

Abstract

Forest and land fires in Indonesia are recurring events and have a major impact on the environment, public health and the economy. Forest and land fires have also occurred in West Sumatra Province in the last five years. This research aims to look at the distribution pattern of forest and land fires and policy strategies for dealing with forest and land fires in West Sumatra Province. To see the distribution pattern of forest and land fires, this is done by processing indicative data on the area burned in West Sumatra Province in 2019-2023 which is overlaid with administrative area maps, forest area maps, and land use maps, as well as the distribution of times of forest and land fire incidents. Meanwhile, the policy strategy for dealing with forest and land fires is carried out using an Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) approach.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate mining risk mitigation policies in Nagari Koto Alam using the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) approach. Nagari Koto Alam, located in Lima Puluh Kota Regency, faces significant challenges due to mining activities, including environmental degradation, landslides, and social conflicts. The ISM method is employed to analyze key elements influencing risk mitigation, such as government policies, community participation, and environmental management. Data were collected through literature reviews, field observations, and interviews with stakeholders, including local authorities, mining companies, and the local community. The results reveal that weak regulatory enforcement and insufficient reclamation efforts are the primary causes of risks. By mapping the relationships among elements hierarchically, this study identifies priority interventions, such as community education, stricter regulatory enforcement, and the implementation of sustainable mining practices. The recommendations provide a foundation for balancing economic benefits with environmental protection and community well-being.

Abstract

The village of Segarjaya has conducted an eligibility survey to obtain low-quality rice, but the information collected is still inaccurate, and the assessment of the eligibility for low-quality rice is not standardized. Due to the lack of standardization and inaccuracies regarding the recipients of poor rice assistance, the community often protests. The aim of this research is to develop a DSS system capable of providing accurate data results to the assistance recipients and implementing standard evaluation criteria for the recipients of poor rice. The TOPSIS method was chosen to create the DSS system. The research procedure starts with data collection, followed by the decision matrix, determining whether the solution is positive or negative ideal, the optimal distance between solutions, and the preference values for each option. The result of this research is a DSS algorithm that can be applied to PBM, which can support the Segarjaya village authorities to be more accurate in making decisions for the recipients of poor rice subsidies.

Abstract

The rapid development of information systems has highlighted the need for integrated solutions that streamline access and control mechanisms. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has emerged as a reliable tool for identifying and tracking objects using radio signals. Its applications have expanded to inventory management, logistics, security, and access control. One such application involves enhancing room access systems using RFID, which improves user security and portability. However, at Horizon University, ID-Cards are currently underutilized, serving only as student identification without supporting additional functionalities. This research introduces a web-based experimental approach to developing an RFID-enabled room access system. The proposed system integrates RFID technology to control and monitor room access effectively, ensuring that only authorized users can enter. The methodology involves designing a hardware-software interface for data capture, storage, and retrieval through a web platform. This innovation is expected to enhance security, optimize ID-Card utility, and provide comprehensive room access management tailored for educational or organizational environments.
