Abstract

This paper describes the problems of old-semester students in completing their study at the Faculty of Science of Islamic Education and Teaching (FITK) IAIN Walisongo Semarang. The study of exploratory qualitative approach involves 20 students from all courses taken by purposive random sampling with the tech-nique of questionnaires, interviews and documentations. The results are: (1) The problems faced by elderly semester students is a matter of academic and non-academic, namely working part time, participating organizations, teaching and unwarranted. (2) The problems are handled by the leaders of the faculty in-volved: (a) anticipatory since the beginning of their study and academic orienta-tion; (b) preventing for their study by the lecturer as supervisor; and (c) curating towards the end of the study by the head of the faculty. These steps are per-formed in order to provide opportunities for students to be able to pass and not threatened to drop out.

Kajian dengan pendekatan kualitatif eksploratif ini melibatkan 20 mahasiswa dari semua program studi yang diambil secara purposive random sampling dengan teknik angket, wawancara, dokumentasi. Hasilnya adalah bahwa: (1) Mahasiswa semester tua menghadapi masalah akademik dan nonakademik berupa kuliah kerja, ikut organisasi, mengajar dan tidak beralasan. (2) Penanganan yang dilakukan pimpinan lembaga meliputi: (a) antisipatif sejak awal masa studi dan orientasi akademik; (b) preventif selama studi oleh dosen pembimbing; dan kuratif menjelang akhir studi oleh pimpinan lembaga. Langkah-langkah ini dilakukan dalam rangka memberikan peluang kepada mahasiswa agar bisa lulus dan tidak terancam drop out.

Abstract

Selama berabad-abad Islam telah menjadi agama negara di Turki. Tetapi itu berubah saat Turki mendeklarasikan diri sebagai negara Republik pada tahun 1923. Turki menjadi negara sekuler dan membuat Islam tertekan. Namun saat sistem politik Pemerintah Turki mengadopsi multipartai dan partai itu kemudian didukung oleh masyarakat Muslim dan memimpin pemerintahan, perlahan keberadaan Islam kembali tampak. Kondisi ini memengaruhi keberadaan pendidikan dan sekolah-sekolah Islam, yang pada dua dekade terakhir jumlahnya meningkat tajam. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data tentang kontrol kualitas pendidikan, bentuk-bentuk pendidikan Islam dan peran pemerintah terhadap pendidikan Islam. Melalui teknik dokumentasi, observasi dan interview, peneliti­an ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kontrol kualitas pendidikan di Turki dilakukan di bawah kementerian pendidikan nasional; 2) bentuk sekolah dibagi menjadi negeri dan swasta, dan 3) peran pemerintah terhadap sekolah-sekolah Islam tidak dilakukan secara langsung, namun melalui kebijakan Kementerian Pen­didikan Nasional yang diberlakukan secara umum kepada sekolah negeri.***Islam had been the religion of the state in Turkey for many centuries, but it was disappeared when the type of the state was changed into republic in 1923. Turkey then has become a secular state and Islam has been depressed. However, when the political system in Turkey adopted multiparty and the party supported by Muslim community run the ruling government, Islam gradually has existed. This affected the Islamic education and schools, which have been sharply increased in number during the last 2 decades. This research was conducted to identify the quality control of education, the types of Islamic education and the role of government towards Islamic schools. By using techniques of documentation, observation and interview, this research indicated that: 1) the quality control of education in Turkey is done under ministry of national education; 2) the types of Islamic education are divided into public and private and  3) the role of government towards Islamic schools is not implemented straight forward, but through the policy in the Ministry of National Education addressed towards the public schools.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop learning instruments of science through Contextual Approach using problem solving model which are reasonable to increase critical thinking skills of students. Learning Instruments are developed using 4-D model with one group pretest-posttest design. The Learning Instruments are tested at 74 students class VIII MTs Negeri Bonde Majene Regency West Sulawesi Province third semester 2016/ 2017 school Year for measuring application of lesson plan, hindrances during learning process, result of learning which is critical thinking skills of students, and respons of students to the learning instruments developed. Data Collection uses validation method, observation, testing, and questionnaires. The data of this research are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively description. Finding of the research result, namely: (1) Instrument Validity including lesson Plan, Text book of students, activity sheets of students, test instruments of critical thinking indicated valid; (2) practically learning instruments are obtained from: (a) application of Lesson plan categorized by 95.23% with excellent category, and (b) obstacles during learning process; and (3) affectivity of learning instruments in terms of : (a) critical thinking skills of students through ­n-gain with higher category over 0.7 (Hake, 1999), and (b) the respons of students to the instruments and application of learning are very good. Based on the result of data analysis, can be concluded that learning instruments of science through Contextual Approach using problem solving model are feasible to increase critical thinking skills of students.

Abstract

This research is conducted based on the unavailibility of the planning, process, and evaluation of learning which refers to the higher-order thinking skills as literacy needed to facilitate in twenty-first century science teaching and learning.  The purpose of the research is to develop a model of guided discovery learning through participatory biomonitoring activities to improve students' higher-order thinking skills on water pollution materials. The type of this research is development research which implemented in a grade VII at SMP Negeri 1 Deket Lamongan. The development of learning on package in the research carried out using 4-D model of Thiagarajan, wich consist of stages of development, namely: define, design, develop, without using disseminate stage. The result data from this research are: (1) the valid learning syllabus, lesson plans, student teaching materials, student worksheets, tests and assessment instruments, (2) the legibility of teaching materials and student worksheets show the excellent category, (3) feasibility of lesson plan syntax was considered good and reliable, (4) the understanding of the learning concept has been completed individually, classically, and indicators, (5) higher-order thinking skills of students? can improved (6) the students? activity showed successful and reliable, and (7) the students? response to the learning activities were interested in they  feel something new, easy and interesting in using the model in teaching learning process. Based on the findings of this research it can be concluded that the matterial learning development of guided discovery models through participatory biomonitoring activities has feasibility, practically, and effectiveness of the good category  to use in and it could improve students higher-order thinking skills in the material of water pollution. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi belum tersedianya perencanaan, proses, dan evaluasi pembelajaran yang merujuk pada keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi sebagai literasi yang perlu dilatihkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sains abad dua puluh satu. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran model guided discovery berbasis kegiatan biomonitoring partisipatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi pencemaran air. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pengembangan yang diimplementasikan di kelas VII di SMPN 1 Deket Lamongan. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Model 4-D dari Thiagarajan, yang terdiri dari tahap-tahap: define, design, develop, tanpa menggunakan tahap disseminate. Data hasil penelitian adalah: (1) Silabus Pembelajaran, RPP, Materi Ajar Siswa, LKS, dan Instrumen Penilaian Tes memperoleh kategori valid, (2)  Pemahaman siswa terhadap Materi Ajar Siswa dan LKS menunjukkan kategori sangat baik, (3) keterlaksanaan  sintaks pada RPP dinilai baik dan reliabel, (4) secara individual dan indikator, hasil belajar pemahaman konsep telah tuntas, (5) keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa meningkat (6) aktivitas siswa dinyatakan baik dan reliabel, dan (7) respon siswa terhadap komponen-komponen pembelajaran adalah merasa ketertarikan, merasakan kebaharuan, kemudahan dan menyatakan keberminatan terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran.  Berdasarkan temuan pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model guided discovery berbasis kegiatan biomonitoring partisipatif memiliki kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas yang baik sehingga dapat digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi pencemaran air.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dengan menggunakan program simulasi PhET yang layak untuk mereduksi miskonsepsi siswa. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D yang direduksi menjadi 3-D dan diujicobakan di tiga kelas XI SMAN 4 Surabaya tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 dengan one group pretest posttest design.  Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan angket.Data dianalisis menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Temuan penelitian yaitu: (1) Validitas: (a) Validasi RPP kategori baik, BAS kategori cukup baik, LKS kategori baik, Tes Uji Miskonsepsi umumnya valid; (b) Rata-rata keterbacaan BAS sebesar 59,8% dan LKS sebesar 71,3%; (c) Rata-rata tingkat kesulitan BAS sebesar 32,5% dan LKS sebesar 34,3%; (2) Kepraktisan meliputi: (a) Perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori baik, dan (b) Tingkat aktivitas siswa dikategorikan baik (3) Keefektifan yang meliputi: (a) hasil tes uji miskonsepsi dengan N(g) 0,73; dan hasil analisis uji statistik  one-way ANOVA, yaitu : 1) tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan penurunan miskonsepsi dari ketiga kelas, 2) N-Gain penurunan miskonsesi siswa dialami pada masing-masing kelas (b) Respon siswa terhadap KBM adalah positif. Berdasarkan hasil temuan dalam penelitian ini, disimulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran listrik dinamis dengan model inkuiri terbimbing layak digunakan oleh siswa SMA untuk menurunkan miskonsepsi siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop physics learning material based on 7E learning cycle model veable to use improving problem solving skills. Implementation of the research has done in class X of SMAN 16 Surabaya academic year 2014/2015. Methods of data collection are validity, tests, observations, and questionnaires. The materials was developed using the modified 4D model of the design testing one group pretest-posttest design. Analysis of the significance of the increase in problem-solving skills using a paired t test while to see the consistency of learning outcomes using analysis of variance. Results from this research showed: 1) the validity of learning material give results of the validation consisted of RPP value of 3.47 is valid categorized, BAS value of 3.50 is valid categorized, LKS is 3.64 categorized very valid, problem solving skills test value of 3 is valid categorized, legibility BAS is 73.90% being categorized, legibility LKS is 77.46 % higher category, the level of difficulty BAS  is 26.52 % low categorized, the difficulty level of LKS is 26.32% low categorized; 2) the practicality of the learning material consist of a feasibility study learning of 93.25% is very well categorized and learning implementation constraints that arise when students understand the steps the experiment; 3) the effectiveness of learning, in terms of problem-solving skills increase significantly between before and after the learning with a high degree of improvement category; Average student activity categorized in three classes, as well as students respond positively to the learning activities, and positive student?s response of learning activity. The results showed that physics learning material based on 7E learning cycle model veable to use improving problem solving skills. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model learning cycle 7E yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penyelesaian masalah. Penelitian pada kelas X SMAN 16 Surabaya tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan validasi, tes, observasi, dan angket. Perangkat pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan model 4-D dengan rancangan ujicoba one group pretest-posttest design. Analisis signifikansi peningkatan keterampilan penyelesaian masalah menggunakan uji t berpasangan sedangkan untuk melihat konsistensi hasil pembelajaran menggunakan analisis varians. Hasil penelitian: 1) validitas perangkat pembelajaran dengan hasil nilai validasi terdiri dari RPP sebesar 3.47 berkategori valid, BAS sebesar 3.50 berkategori valid, LKS sebesar 3.64 berkategori sangat valid, tes keterampilan penyelesaian masalah sebesar 3 berkategori valid, keterbacaan BAS sebesar 73.90% berkategori sedang, keterbacaan LKS sebesar 77.46% berkategori tinggi, tingkat kesulitan BAS sebesar 26.52% berkategori rendah, tingkat kesulitan LKS sebesar 26.32% berkategori rendah; 2) kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan pembelajaran sebesar 93.25% berkategori sangat baik dan kendala pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang muncul saat siswa memahami langkah-langkah percobaan; 3) keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran, ditinjau dari peningkatan keterampilan penyelesaian masalah secara signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan derajat peningkatan berkategori tinggi; rata-rata aktivitas siswa di tiga kelas berkategori baik, serta respons siswa positif terhadap aktivitas pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran fisika model learning cycle 7E layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penyelesaian masalah.

Abstract

This research development aims to determine the quality (validity, practicality, and effectiveness) of Physics Learning Material using Scientific Approach to Practice Students's Critical Thinking Skills in subject of fluid for student class XI Senior High School State 1 Batu Sopang. This research was implemented in two phases, namely the development of devices to follow the Morrison, Ross, Kalman, & Kemp?s design, continued implementation of the learning in the classroom using Pre- and Post-Design from Prunckun. The results showed that the developed device has a valid, practical, and effective. Valid visible from the validator assessment of the lesson plan RPP; student worksheets; students books achievement test; learning outcomes assessment instruments knowledge, performance, attitude, and critical thinking skills. Practical seen from the percentage feasibility study stage is 100 %; scores feasibility study in class XI-IA-1 is 3.71; XI-IA-2 3.72; and XI-IA-3 3.67; activities that support the scientific approach more dominant in learning and irrelevant activity has decreased every meeting; students responded positively to the process of learning and using a scientific approach that has been developed. Effective seen from individual mastery of knowledge learning outcomes of students of class XI-IA-1 is 88.00%; XI-IA-2 92.00%; XI- IA-3  87.00%; individual mastery of performance and attitude learning outcomes of students each class is 100 %; all students to increase critical thinking skills. Obstacles encountered in this study is times less efficient in guiding the students carry out experiments and practice critical thinking skills. The research showed that the physics learning material using scientific approach has valid, practical, and effective to improve learning outcomes and practice critical thinking skills. Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas (validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan) perangkat pembelajaran fisika melalui pendekatan saintifik untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi fluida untuk siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Batu Sopang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu pengembangan perangkat mengikuti rancangan Morrison, Ross, Kalman, & Kemp, dilanjutkan implementasi perangkat pembelajaran di kelas menggunakan Pre- and Post-Design dari Prunckun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan telah valid, praktis, dan efektif. Valid terlihat dari penilaian validator terhadap RPP; LKS; buku siswa; instrumen penilaian hasil belajar pengetahuan, keterampilan, sikap, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Praktis terlihat dari persentase keterlaksanaan tahapan pembelajaran sebesar 100%; skor keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas XI-IA-1 sebesar 3,71; XI-IA-2 3,72; dan XI-IA-3 3,67; aktivitas yang mendukung pendekatan saintifik lebih dominan dalam pembelajaran dan aktivitas tidak relevan mengalami penurunan setiap pertemuan; siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap perangkat dan proses pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan saintifik yang telah dikembangkan. Efektif terlihat dari ketuntasan individual hasil belajar pengetahuan siswa kelas XI-IA-1 sebesar 88,00%; XI-IA-2 92,00%; XI-IA-3 87,00%; ketuntasan individual hasil belajar keterampilan dan sikap siswa setiap kelas sebesar 100%; semua siswa mengalami peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam penelitian ini adalah kurang efisien waktu dalam membimbing siswa melaksanakan eksperimen dan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran fisika menggunakan pendekatan saintifik telah valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Eco Campus is a national environmental management system and award scheme for the higher education sector for addressing key issues of environment. One of the education institutions at university level that was planned to implement an eco- campus is the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) especially at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science (FMIPA). However, to create such goal, it was important to begin with how to make the students have responsible environmental behavior (REB). Related to such problem, the pre experimental research has been conducted to promote three of responsible environmental behavior of students in Biology department of international class 2012, comprised of; eco-management action, persuasion, and economic/consumer action using the implementation of environmental education program. As a lifelong study, the environmental education was aimed to show that interdependency between humanity and the environment was needed to improve the human environment sustainability for the present and the future generations. This study was conducted using variety of data sources; observation, interview, questionnaire and test. Based on the data analyses descriptively and the discussion result, it was known that the ability of the lecturer to manage the learning activities for each category was good. Then, the implementation of environmental education program can promote three categories of responsible environmental behaviors of students. Moreover, the environmental education implemented in the current research has positive impact on students? cognitive learning outcomes of environmental knowledge subject, especially the strategies for sustainable development topic, based on the UNESA grade standard.Eko-kampus adalah sebuah sistem manajemen lingkungan nasional dan skema penghargaan untuk sektor pendidikan tinggi untuk mengatasi permasalahan utama lingkungan. Salah satu lembaga pendidikan di tingkat universitas yang telah mencanangkan eko-kampus adalah Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) khususnya di Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA). Namun demikian, untuk mewujudkan tujuan tersebut, hal terpenting yang harus dipertimbangkan adalah bagaimana cara membentuk sikap mahasiswa memiliki perilaku yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan (REB).Terkait dengan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian pra-eksperimen telah dilakukan untuk mendorong terwujudnya tiga aspek perilaku yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan pada mahasiswa jurusan Biologi kelas internasional 2012, meliputi, tindakan eko-manajemen, persuasi, dan tindakan konsumen/ekonomi, melalui penerapan program pendidikan lingkungan. Sebagai pendidikan seumur hidup, pendidikan lingkungan bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bahwa saling ketergantungan antara manus ia dan lingkungan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kelestarian lingkungan hidup manusia untuk saat ini dan generasi yang akan datang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan berbagai teknik pengumpulan data meliputi, observasi, wawancara, angket dan tes. Berdasarkan analisis data secara deskriptif dan hasil pembahasan, diketahui bahwa kemampuan pengajar dalam mengelola aktivitas pembelajaran untuk setiap langkah pengajaran adalah baik. Kemudian, pelaksanaan program pendidikan lingkungan dapat mendorong tiga aspek perilaku yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan pada mahasiswa. Selain itu, pendidikan lingkungan yang telah diterapkan dalam penelitian ini memiliki dampak positif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa pada mata kuliah pengetahuan lingkungan, terutama pada materi strategi untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan, berdasarkan pada standar penilaian UNESA.

Abstract

This  research  aims  was  to develop  a competency-based  assessment  instruments  in subject  of  Science/Biology.  This research was carried out through the development of the following 4-D design models of Thiagarajan (1974) and then continued the implementation the classroom using One Shot Case Study Design. The data were obtained as follows: the results of the validation instruments decent role in the category; legibility of instruments indicates that the content, appearance, difficulty sentences and interesting pictures and easy to understand students; enforceability of good category; effectiveness of the instrument showed that cognitive assessment to have a reliability tes objective 0.39, the level of difficulty of items were easily as many as 11 items (36.7%), medium as many as 16 items (53.3%), and difficult as many as 3 items (10%), sensitive items as many as 27 items (90%) and less sensitive as many as 3 items (10%), while the essay test has a reliability of 0.45, an easy difficulty level items as many as 2 items (20%), medium as many as 4 items (40%), and difficult as many as 4 items (40%), sensitive items as many as 6 items (60%) and less sensitive as many as 4 items (40%); assessment of the affective domain has a reliability 0.81; assessment of psychomotor domains I has a reliability  of 0.52 and psychomotor  II has a reliability  of 0.62.  Student  field  constraints  are not  accustomed  to using competency-based assessment instrument. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that a Competency-Based Assessment Instruments in subject of Science/Biology that have been developed are valid, practical, and effective.Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengembangkan  instrumen  asesmen  komprehensif  berbasis  kompetensi  pada  mata pelajaran IPA/Biologi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan melalui pengembangan instrumen mengikuti rancangan 4-D model dari Thiagarajan  (1974)  kemudian  dilanjutkan  implementasi  di  kelas  menggunakan  rancangan  One  Shot  Case  Study.  Data  hasil penelitian yang diperoleh sebagai berikut: hasil validasi instrumen dalam kategori layak; keterbacaan instrumen  menunjukkan bahwa isi, penampilan, kesulitan kalimat dan gambar menarik dan mudah dipahami siswa; keterlaksanaan instrumen berkategori sangat baik; keefektifan instrumen menunjukkan bahwa asesmen ranah kognitif untuk tes objektif memiliki reliabilitas 0,39, tingkat kesukaran butir soal mudah sebanyak 11 butir soal (36,7%), sedang sebanyak 16 butir soal (53,3%), dan sukar sebanyak 3 butir soal (10%), butir soal sensitif sebanyak 27 butir soal (90%) dan kurang sensitif sebanyak 3 butir soal (10%), sedangkan tes uraian memiliki reliabilitas 0,45, tingkat kesukaran butir soal mudah sebanyak 2 butir soal (20%), sedang sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%), dan sukar sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%), butir soal sensitif sebanyak 6 butir soal (60%) dan kurang sensitif sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%); asesmen ranah afektif memiliki reliabilitas 0,81; asesmen ranah psikomotor I memiliki reliabilitas 0,52 dan psikomotor II memiliki reliabilitas  0,62.  Kendala  lapangan  adalah  siswa  belum  terbiasa  menggunakan  instrumen  asesmen  komprehensif  berbasis kompetensi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen asesmen komprehensif berbasis kompetensi pada mata pelajaran IPA/Biologi yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif.
