Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of reproductive health law in schools, the urgency of standardizing its regulation, as well as building a concept of legal protection that integrates national norms and Islamic Shari'ah principles. The research was conducted in three formal schools: SMPN 1 Jombang, SMPN 3 Peterongan (pesantren-based), and SMAN 2 Jombang, using empirical legal method with sociological juridical approach. The results show that despite efforts through education, UKS and screening, there are no uniform and binding technical legal standards. This leads to imbalances in implementation and weak comprehensive legal protection. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah and the principle of children's best interests, a legal system is needed that not only protects physical health, but also reason, morals, and religious values. Therefore, standardization of maqāṣid-based legal regulation and child protection is very important. Standardization that harmonizes maqāṣid values, the principle of children's best interests, and the theory of preventive and repressive legal protection, with the involvement of all elements of rule makers, implementers, and beneficiaries, is expected to guide regional policies to create a healthy, moral, and legally protected young generation in the context of a religious society such as Jombang Regency

Abstract

The concept of Sadd al-Dzari'ah is a fundamental principle in determining halal and haram fatwas in Islam, which aims to prevent all forms of danger (mafsadah) and maintain the welfare (maslahah) of both individuals and society. This research aims to analyze the application of the Sadd al-Dzari'ah concept in the contemporary context, especially in the fields of Islamic banking and finance, health and food products, as well as its response to the challenges of globalization, multiculturalism and socio-moral change. Using a critical literature review method, this research examines the conceptual basis, methods of legal interpretation (such as ijma', qiyas, istihsan, istishab, and maslahah murlah), as well as contemporary fatwa case studies involving Sadd al-Dzari'ah. The research results show that this concept plays a key role in ensuring the conformity of Islamic financial products and transactions with Sharia principles, assessing the halalness and safety of food and health products, and addressing modern ethical issues such as technological developments, reproductive rights, and cultural diversity. Furthermore, this study confirms that Sadd al-Dzari'ah serves as a vital instrument in maintaining the relevance, integrity, and adaptability of Islamic law amidst complex global dynamics. The implications of this research not only provide a more comprehensive guiding framework for Muslims in making daily decisions in accordance with Sharia but also make a significant contribution to the development of a sustainable, ethical, and religiously responsive Islamic finance industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the trend of pre-wedding photography from the perspective of Imam Shafi'i's thoughts on the concepts of aurat and ikhtilāṭ, and to examine its implementation in the social context of Jombang through a multi-case study approach. The research method used was a qualitative multi-case study design, involving several prospective brides and grooms, photographers, religious leaders, and the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) as research subjects. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis utilized the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that pre-wedding photography practices in Jombang Regency vary, ranging from those that are relatively compliant with sharia principles to those that potentially violate the provisions of aurat and ikhtilāṭ according to the Shafi'i school of thought. Dominant factors influencing these practices include the influence of popular culture, social media, religious understanding, and aesthetic and economic considerations. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening marital fiqh literacy and Islamic visual ethics so that the tradition of pre-wedding photography can be adapted to sharia values ​​without neglecting the social and cultural aspects of society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how students handle disagreements with their peers in classroom settings. Although conflict is considered a normal part of social interaction, inappropriate conflict management can lead to interpersonal tension. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling. Three students aged 21–22 years served as informants and were interviewed in depth. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, field notes, and supporting documentation. The data were then analyzed narratively based on five aspects: communication patterns in conflict situations, emotional attitudes toward conflict, resolution techniques, psychological and relational effects, and social values and attitudes toward differences. The findings indicate that in handling disagreements, students generally demonstrate openness, assertiveness, and empathy. They are able to manage negative emotions, seek resolution strategies based on cooperation and compromise, and view differences as opportunities for social learning. Conflicts tend to be constructive, as they are approached with self-reflection and efforts to maintain positive relationships. Students’ adaptive attitudes toward conflict are strongly influenced by their emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication skills. Overall, the study concludes that students display social and emotional maturity in dealing with disagreements, which helps foster a positive and inclusive communication culture on campus.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the development of empathy character among senior high school students in social interactions within the school environment and to examine how empathy is formed and practiced in daily life. The research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore students’ lived experiences related to empathy. The research subjects consisted of four twelfth-grade students at a public senior high school in Surabaya, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that students’ empathy character develops through several processes, including awareness of peers’ conditions, the emergence of socially caring actions, and an understanding of empathy as an essential value in maintaining friendships. Empathy is manifested in concrete behaviors such as listening to peers, helping friends, and providing emotional support. However, this character has not yet developed optimally due to the influence of both internal and external factors. These findings suggest that empathy is a social character that does not emerge instantly but is formed through ongoing social interaction experiences. Therefore, strengthening empathy requires planned efforts in the educational context, particularly through character education and school culture, to foster social sensitivity and care, ultimately creating a more positive school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of career guidance and skills training activities in assisting incarcerated adolescents at the Class IIB Lamongan Correctional Institution in making career decisions. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using purposive sampling. The research subjects consisted of five incarcerated adolescents who actively participated in career guidance and skills training programs. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, field notes, and supporting documentation, and were analyzed narratively and in depth to explore the participants’ experiences, perspectives, and career decision-making processes. The findings indicate that career guidance plays an important role in helping incarcerated adolescents understand their personal potential, identify work interests, and gain insight into possible career options after completing their correctional program. Skills training activities provide practical competencies that enhance self-confidence and work readiness among the participants. Through the integration of career guidance and skills training, incarcerated adolescents begin to develop clearer career directions and make more informed career decisions. This study concludes that career guidance and skills training are essential components of the rehabilitation process for incarcerated adolescents, supporting their career readiness and post-release career decision-making.

Abstract

This study examines the eschatological dimension of Surah al-Mulk in Tafsir al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab, focusing on the concept of grave punishment as an integral part of Islamic teachings about life after death. The research employs a qualitative method with a thematic (maudhu‘i) tafsir approach, analyzing verses of Surah al-Mulk related to the themes of life, death, and divine retribution for disbelievers. The findings reveal that Surah al-Mulk emphasizes life and death as tests of faith (verse 2), describes the torment prepared for those who deny the truth (verses 6–9), and highlights the importance of intellect and hearing as means of spiritual salvation (verse 10). According to Quraish Shihab, these verses serve as moral and spiritual reminders of the consequences of human deeds in the barzakh realm. Theologically, Surah al-Mulk affirms Allah’s justice and mercy, while educationally it encourages humans to live reflectively, faithfully, and responsibly in preparation for both worldly and eternal life

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to global educational systems. This technology influences not only learning processes but also pedagogical practices, assessment systems, educational management, and policy formulation. This article aims to examine the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in education through a conceptual and literature-based approach. The study employs a critical literature review of peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, and international policy reports related to AI in educational contexts. The findings indicate that AI offers several strategic opportunities, including personalized learning, enhanced assessment effectiveness, data-driven decision-making, and improved educational governance and quality assurance. However, the implementation of AI in education also presents substantial challenges, such as ethical and data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, teacher readiness, infrastructural inequality, and weak policy and governance frameworks. This article argues that Artificial Intelligence should not be regarded as a neutral technological solution, but rather as a socio-technical phenomenon that requires careful pedagogical, ethical, and policy considerations. When governed responsibly, AI has the potential to support the development of inclusive, adaptive, and human-centered educational systems.

Abstract

The development of a knowledge-based society demands that Islamic educational institutions manage knowledge systematically and sustainably. However, the practice of managing Islamic education still tends to focus on administrative and structural aspects, while the management of knowledge as a strategic asset has not been optimal. This study aims to analyze the concept of Knowledge Management within the study of Islamic Education Management and to examine its relevance as a strategy for improving the quality of Islamic educational institutions based on values. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research as the type of study. Data were obtained from books, scholarly journal articles, and relevant publications, which were analyzed using content analysis in a descriptive-analytical manner. Research results indicate that Knowledge Management is closely related to Islamic Education Management, particularly in the management of human resources, organizational culture, and utilization of information technology. The implementation of Knowledge Management integrated with Islamic values such as amanah (trustworthiness), ihsan (excellence), itqan (proficiency), and mas’uliyyah (responsibility) can strengthen the learning organization culture, enhance learning innovation, and support knowledge-based decision-making

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical problem-solving ability among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students. The research employed a qualitative approach and was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurur Rahman Tamanan, Bondowoso Regency. The participants consisted of upper-grade Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students, with teachers involved as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations during mathematics learning, and documentation of students’ written work. Data analysis was carried out thematically through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data trustworthiness was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that self-efficacy plays a significant role in students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. Students with high self-efficacy tend to demonstrate greater confidence, persistence, and reflective thinking in understanding problems, planning solution strategies, and completing mathematical tasks. In contrast, students with low self-efficacy show hesitation, low persistence, and greater difficulty when facing mathematical problem-solving tasks. This study concludes that strengthening students’ self-efficacy is a crucial aspect in improving the quality of mathematics learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah
