Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers have an important and crucial role in optimizing the growth and development of students so that knowledge and understanding of early developmental screening (EDS) is an obligation that must be mastered by educators. ECE Uswatun Khasanah located in Nogotirto Village, Gamping Sleman District has been established since 2019 but has not yet carried out early detection of growth and development activities this happens because ECE teachers are not yet competent to carry out this activity. The purpose of this service is to increase the capacity of ECE teachers in stimulating the growth and development of toddlers. The implementation method includes a learning contract, pre-test, theory presentation, practice, practice evaluation, and post-test. The results of the service are an increase in teacher knowledge by 30 points and an increase in EDS skills as evidenced by teachers being able to monitor growth (monitor height and weight) and interpret the results in a table/ growth curve. In developmental screening, EDS teachers can conduct developmental pre-screening questionnaire tests on students, interpret and provide growth and development stimulation advice to parents/guardians. EDS training for ECE teachers is effective in improving knowledge and skills in stimulating students' growth and development.

Abstract

The GKJ Gunungkidul Classis located in Kerdon consists of 13 churches and from year to year there is an increase in congregation data. Several years ago, there was a team that created a congregation information system, but in its implementation there were many obstacles so that the system could not be used, even though it had reached the implementation stage. The purpose of this Community Service (PkM) activity is to provide assistance in managing congregation data, and to create congregation data visualization so that the demographics of each church can be presented easily, quickly, and validly. The implementation of this PkM is broadly divided into several stages, namely: Preparation, Implementation_1, Implementation_2, Visualization of data from three churches, Activity Evaluation and Follow-up Plan. From this PkM, two products were produced, namely the GKJ Gunungkidul Classis congregation data collection form and a dashboard related to its multidimensional data. From the results of the respondent satisfaction questionnaire, it can be seen that the respondents were satisfied with the holding of this PkM. The level of respondent satisfaction with this PkM activity is an average proportion of "Satisfied" is 34.3% and an average proportion of "Very Satisfied" is 65.7%. Based on the suggestions, there will be a continuation of this PkM in the future with further collaboration between Klasis GKJ Gunungkidul and the Information Systems Study Program.

Abstract

The appropriate digital promotion strategy is really needed by MSME players in developing their business. Likewise, business people in Suryatmajan Village need a way to use social media to market their products. This Community Service activity aims to support the productivity of community businesses in Suryatmajan Subdistrict, Yogyakarta City through content creation training and digital promotion strategies as well as English language promotions because Suryatmajan subdistrict is close to the Malioboro tourist area. This mentoring activity consists of several stages, namely Observation, Coordination, Socialization, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation. Meanwhile, in the Implementation stage, training is carried out using knowledge transfer methods through lectures, discussions, simulations and practice. Through this mentoring activity, the majority of participants have been able to create video content independently, and recognize that the training material provided is in line with partners' needs.

Abstract

The Eco-Spiritual concept is being widely discussed after the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The Industrial Revolution led to the Eco-Spiritual concept being widely discussed after the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The Industrial Revolution had a profound impact on human life, and the relationship between humans and the environment was disturbed. Humans need nature to live. That’s why when disasters befall humans, such as floods, landslides, warming of the earth’s temperature due to the greenhouse effect, and an uncertain climate, humans suffer. One of humans’ responsibilities towards nature is to maintain, care for, and keep the balance of living ecosystems that exist in nature. In the religious perspectives, it’s named Eco-Spirituality. Through the Students Spirituality Development Program (P2SM), students and society are introduced directly to learn Eco-spirituality, care for issues of natural destruction, and get involved in environmental care actions. One of the P2SM implementation locations chosen was the slopes of the Kendeng mountains in Gower Hamlet, Karangawen village, Pati Regency, Central Java. This article is the result of implementing P2SM as a service using the Service Learning (SL) method, which consists of 3 stages: Seminar, Live in, and Action-Reflection. At the end of the P2SM implementation, introducing Eco-spirituality using the Service-Learning method was considered effective for students and the community.

Abstract

Children in orphanages, such as those at the Abu Dzar Al-Ghifari Orphanage, are highly vulnerable due to limited access to nutritional information and inconsistent food supplies. This situation affects their growth and long-term health, highlighting the critical need to strengthen food security within the orphanage environment. This community service research was conducted at the Muhammadiyah Abu Dzar Al Ghifari Orphanage. The five-stage program included balanced nutrition education, food security training, catfish cultivation in gallons using an aquaponic system (catfish and water spinach), utilization of cultivated produce, and an evaluation of food self-sufficiency. The methods employed were discussions, lectures, Q&A sessions, and hands-on practice, with the orphanage management acting as coordinators. Education involving 22 children and 2 caregivers successfully increased the average pretest score from 60 to 80, demonstrating the method's effectiveness. The training in cultivating catfish and water spinach in gallons not only provided sources of protein and vegetables but also empowered participants and utilized plastic waste. Active involvement from caregivers fostered a sense of ownership and program sustainability. This program effectively enhanced nutritional knowledge and food security at the Abu Dzar Al-Ghifari Orphanage, preventing malnutrition, and building sustainable food self-sufficiency through aquaponic innovation.

Abstract

The support for artistic creativity education at the Tulungagung Women's Prison was motivated by the need for inmates to acquire vocational skills that directly provide economic benefits. The main problem identified was the lack of access to applicable and easy-to-implement vocational training, especially for marginalized women with diverse educational backgrounds. The focus of this service is empowerment through training in tie-dye techniques on hijabs and making hijab brooches, aiming to equip inmates with practical skills that have economic value. The implementation method combines online learning—using the Feynman technique to simplify the material provided through video media uploaded to the YouTube channel —and offline practice assisted by NGO partners and the creative industry. The implementation strategy involves pentahelix collaboration between academics, businessman, government, media, and communities. The results showed that 21 participants successfully completed hijab and brooch products with increased satisfaction and understanding, although the increase in knowledge was not yet significant quantitatively, so that the application of the Feynman technique given to prison instructors can be reapplied to those who are not yet fully skilled. Participant evaluations indicated that the training was easy to follow, the trainer was very satisfactory, and the skills acquired had the potential to be developed as an independent business after the prison term.

Abstract

The use of manual switches to control lights is less effective, especially when outside the house or in hard-to-reach areas. While sensors can address this issue, there is a limitation that requires someone to be near the sensor. Therefore, an IoT-based system has been developed, offering significant potential for automating and remotely controlling devices. While many studies have been conducted on IoT, there has been limited research exploring the integration of ESP32, Kodular, and ThingSpeak for IoT system development and each of these tools has its own advantages. The aim of this research is to assess whether these three components can effectively work together to control and monitor lighting systems remotely. The development method used is the waterfall model. The results demonstrate that this integration successfully enables remote lighting control, confirming the feasibility of combining ESP32, Kodular, and ThingSpeak for IoT applications. However, the system's performance is limited by the 15-second data update interval in ThingSpeak's free version, which may cause delays. To improve responsiveness, solutions such as adding a countdown timer in the application or upgrading to ThingSpeak's premium version. Future optimizations should enhance real-time processing and hardware reliability.

Abstract

Sokaraja District in Banyumas Regency holds significant local potential in agriculture, livestock, industry, and tourism. Its culinary industry—famous for traditional delicacies like "getuk goreng" and "sroto"—and cultural assets such as Mooi Indie-style paintings and Sokaraja batik offer unique attractions. However, many historical buildings in the area remain underutilized. This community service program aims to revitalize local cultural heritage through a digital placemaking approach. We carried out the activity by creating an engaging public space accessible to all community members. The Sokaraja Night Art Festival (SNAF) initiative featured video mapping projections on historical buildings combined with light art, live painting, traditional dance performances, and a bazaar for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The implementation program involves planning, design, execution, and evaluation stages. The main event was held at the Hok Tek Bio temple intersection in Sokaraja, with the theme Molecul Mooi Indie symbolizing local visual art. Evaluation via social media showed broad content reach and positive public response. Notably, the official Instagram account @sokarajanightfestival recorded a 1.57% increase in views over 90 days, from November 2024 to January 2025.

Abstract

The problem of household organic waste accumulation is a serious challenge in Nagari Padang Laweh, Sungai Tarab District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. Most residents dispose of kitchen waste directly into the surrounding environment without processing, which has an impact on pollution and health risks. Through community service activities within the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program at Padang State University in 2025, an appropriate technology called Lodong Sisa Dapur (LOSIDA) was introduced, namely an organic waste composting system using pipes/paralon as a fermentation medium. The implementation method included socialization, training, and Taman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) competitions with a participatory approach to residents. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding and skills in managing organic waste into liquid and solid compost that can be directly used to fertilize plants. LOSIDA technology has proven to be easy to implement, inexpensive, environmentally friendly, and relevant for implementation in rural areas. This activity also succeeded in increasing public awareness of the importance of household-based waste management, while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goals 11 and 13.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education Amongsiswi in Pandes Hamlet, Pangungharjo Village, Bantul, an educational institution that still needs learning media tools for children. Based on field data, educational media is needed in the form of Educational Props (APE) to improve children's psychomotor and motor development. In addition, there is a need for teacher improvement in making educational media. The method used in this community service is a "participatory approach" or "participatory learning and practice approach" through a workshop on making APE, followed by learning assistance for children. Making APE in the form of a puzzle with the theme of "means of transportation", children learn to recognize the types of transportation and it is planned that APE can also be used to recognize numbers, letters, learn to count or learn to arrange letters to form words. This community service activity is intended for teachers to motivate and improve skills in making APE. While learning using APE is expected to allow children to recognize the types of transportation by assembling puzzles of transportation components such as cars, buses, airplanes, motorcycles and bicycles. APE colors vary so that children can recognize the types of colors. The results of this workshop and mentoring activity improved teachers' skills and knowledge in creating APE (Adobe Puzzles) and positively impacted children's enthusiasm during learning activities.
