Abstract

Social service activities are held with free health checks such as blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid. Social service is carried out to assist with initial screening to prevent non-communicable diseases which are the leading cause of death in Indonesia. Activities were carried out in the villages of Banteng, Ngaglik, Sleman, Yogyakarta and residents of the GKJ Dayu congregation. The method of service is to carry out an assessment of the target area and coordinate with GKJ Dayu, the Head of Banteng Village and the formation of a Service Team from the Faculty of Medicine, Duta Wacana Christian University. Evaluation of social service activities is carried out qualitatively by means of discussion and quantitatively by looking at data on participants who registered whether they were successful through screening or not successful through screening. This social service activity was attended by 70 participants who took part in general examinations and were further divided into 5 people undergoing IVA examinations, 5 people undergoing health consultations and 54 people undergoing simple laboratory examinations. From the results of this social service it can be concluded that this activity succeeded in making a real contribution to social service participants who needed free examinations and was able to empower the community by increasing knowledge about non-communicable disease health.

Abstract

Duta Wacana Christian University in Yogyakarta has established a partnership with the Animal Village in Kedung Banteng Village, Moyudan District, Sleman Regency, D.I.Y. This collaboration involves the Product Design lecturers, Biotech, and two Product Design students from DWCU, resulting in training for creating souvenirs. The presence of the Animal Village at RT 06 / RW 16 Kedung Banteng is unique and captivating. It began with a resident's hobby of caring for animals, which evolved into an educational eco-tourism village for local schools and communities from various regions. The existence of its place offers the opportunity to learn about various protected animal species, their habitats, and plants cultivated to support their survival. This inspired the academic team to assist in developing the educational eco-tourism village through promotional strategies using memorable souvenirs that can serve as an identity (branding) to be cherished and recognized more widely. The activities include skills training and knowledge about pottery and batik, which are part of Java's rich cultural heritage, utilizing the natural resources available in the area. The well-planned souvenir concept will serve as innovative visual branding and an effective promotional media. This service is conducted through technical training, involving direct observational data collection, interviews, and participatory methods to create products that serve as promotional media and examples for other villages to love and protect nature.

Abstract

Developing educational modules for children with exceptional needs necessitates comprehensive modifications to accommodate the child's unique intellectual and behavioral requirements. The Individualized Approach prioritizes the customization of materials according to the child's unique abilities and interests. For instance, in a programming module, platforms like Scratch can facilitate the introduction of concepts through a visual and interactive approach that enhances comprehension. In a LEGO module, activities are organized to enable children to assemble components incrementally through visual aids, deconstructing intricate jobs into manageable steps, so minimizing frustration and enhancing progressive comprehension. Structure and routines assist children with behavioral issues in maintaining focus, but a multisensory approach facilitates information processing through the senses. Through task analysis, intricate materials are deconstructed into more manageable elements, facilitating a structured and comprehensible learning experience for youngsters. This amalgamation of methodologies guarantees that educational modules are both successful and inclusive, particularly when employing interactive and enjoyable products like LEGO. Based on observations made during teaching process using the developed materials, children with special needs can maintain focus longer than before using the developed materials. This observation is still limited, so an evaluation needs to be carried out using more standard measurements and a longer period of time. Suggestions for further activities are to develop materials that are specific to the type of special needs.

Abstract

The internship program is a crucial component of higher education curricula, designed to equip students with practical competencies, particularly in the field of Educational Administration. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the internship program in enhancing the competencies of students in the Educational Administration Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bogor Raya through direct practice at MTs Al-Arafah. The internship program involved second, fourth, and sixth-semester students. The implementation methods included preparation, execution, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The internship results revealed an improvement in students' technical competencies, particularly in managing student data using digital tools such as Google Forms integrated with Microsoft Excel. Additionally, students experienced enhanced analytical skills, report writing abilities, and interpersonal skills through guidance from faculty mentors. This internship program not only provided students with hands-on work experience but also prepared them to face future challenges in the field of educational administration. The conclusion highlights the program's effectiveness in shaping student competencies, although continuous development of the digital products created is necessary to better meet the needs of schools.

Abstract

Tarakanita Senior High School (SMA) Magelang is one of the private high schools in Magelang, Central Java, which was established in 1984. The problem faced by Tarakanita Senior High School is the lack of teaching staff who can train students to prepare themselves to take part in the 2024 OSN in mathematics. Community service activities aim to help Tarakanita Senior High School students prepare themselves for the OSN Mathematics. The mentoring was attended by 8 students in grades 10 and 11 who were approved by the school to take part in the OSN Mathematics. The method of implementing the activity includes: technical coordination of activities with the vice principal and mathematics teacher, mentoring in preparation for the OSN Mathematics in the form of completing and discussing practice questions, and evaluation with teachers and students of Tarakanita Senior High School Magelang. The series of activities were carried out in November 2023 - April 2024. Evaluation of the success of the activity was carried out at the end of the mentoring for 5 students who actively participated in the activity until the end and 2 mentoring teachers using Gform. The results showed a value of 4.75 (teachers) and 4.58 (students) on a scale of 1 (very bad) to 5 (very good). These results indicate that the implementation of community service has been very good. These results are also reinforced by verbal input from teachers at the end of the activity who expect similar activities to be carried out again in 2025.

Abstract

This extracurricular activity aims to introduce programming and data processing concepts to high school students using MySQL. Through this activity, students are expected to be able to understand the basics of computer programming with Java language and data processing with MySQL. In addition, this program also focuses on improving digital literacy and technical skills, which are very relevant in preparing students to face the challenges of the world of work in the digital era. Students are not only introduced to basic concepts, but are also given the opportunity to directly start programming and data processing skills in real contexts. Therefore, this activity is designed to provide a strong foundation for students who continue their interest in studying in the field of information technology or prepare for a career in the sector. Evaluations conducted through pre-tests and post-tests showed that although there were some challenges in understanding the material, students generally showed significant progress in computational thinking and problem-solving skills, which are very important in facing the complexity of the modern digital world.

Abstract

The role of staff is important in educational institutions because they help to manage administrative matters. Technological advancements, such as Microsoft Office 365, offer staff tools to streamline administrative tasks efficiently. The applications within Microsoft Office 365 are tailored to support administrative workflows, allowing staff to prioritize student learning experiences. SMA BOPKRI 1 Yogyakarta employs educators who believe that leveraging technology can balance teaching and administrative duties. In collaboration with FTI UKDW, a community service initiative was conducted to assist staff in understanding and implementing Microsoft Office 365 applications as a performance evaluation tool. This training covered four main applications: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Canva. The initiative was executed as planned despite scheduling challenges. Training sessions held during workdays and hours hindered optimal participation. Thus, conducting them during inter-semester breaks or school holidays is recommended. The training modules were tailored to the school's needs, and the implementation results showed improved administrative capabilities. The outcomes of the training can be used as a means to evaluate the information technology literacy of educational staff.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in Indonesia's economy, yet many MSME actors often face challenges in leveraging digital technology as a marketing tool. Social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook provide significant opportunities to expand markets through engaging visual content. This community service program aims to enhance the ability of MSMEs in Embung Tirta Kencana to utilize social media through training in promotional video creation. The program focuses on digital marketing strategies, visual content creation techniques, and the use of editing software such as CapCut, Kinemaster, and VivaVideo. The training methods include theoretical and practical sessions, where participants utilize their own products as promotional materials. The results reveal that although participation in the training remains low, some participants have begun utilizing social media for promotion. However, challenges such as limited technical knowledge and motivation still hinder optimal implementation. Therefore, continued training and ongoing support are necessary for MSMEs to maximize the potential of social media in enhancing their competitiveness and boosting product sales.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve students' digital design skills through a project-based learning (PBL) approach. This service was carried out to fill extracurricular computer activities for class X and XI SMS Kolose De Britto students. The focus of the activity is teaching students to design applications, especially using Figma tools, a web-based design tool. This activity was carried out in 11 meetings, consisting of 6 material sessions, 3 project work sessions, and 2 evaluation sessions. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' technical skills, especially in understanding design flow, team collaboration, and utilizing Figma features to create relevant LMS prototypes. The final product is an LMS prototype with features that support learning, such as materials, assignments, grades, attendance, schedules and academic calendars. This activity has a positive impact in the form of increasing students' knowledge in digital design, creativity and teamwork skills. Reflections on the implementation of activities show that the PBL method is effective in encouraging students to learn actively and applied.

Abstract

In the digital era, the need for accessible information systems is increasingly critical. CV. Rush Desain Kupang, specializing in interior and exterior home design, faces challenges in expanding its market due to traditional marketing limitations. This community service aims to develop a web-based platform to streamline design ordering and consultation. The system is developed using the Waterfall methodology, covering requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Technologies used include C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL. Key features include company profile management, design galleries, online consultations, and order forms. Testing is conducted using black-box methods to validate system functionality and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to assess user needs. Results show that the platform improves efficiency, expands market reach, and enhances customer experience. This system offers a modern and practical marketing solution to support CV. Rush Desain Kupang in managing design services more effectively.
