Abstract

This study aims to analyze effective da’wah strategies based on the mental and spiritual readiness of mad’u (the audience). Using a qualitative approach through a literature study, the research finds that the mental and spiritual conditions of mad’u greatly influence their receptiveness to da’wah messages. Mad’u with good mental stability and strong spiritual engagement tend to be more open to da’wah, while those experiencing psychological pressure or having low religious involvement are more likely to reject or disregard the message. The findings also highlight the importance of a personal and empathetic da’wah approach, in which da’i (preachers) with high emotional intelligence are better able to adapt da’wah methods to the conditions of mad’u. This study proposes the development of da’wah strategies that take into account the mental and spiritual readiness of mad’u, emphasizing empathetic and educational approaches. The implication of this research is the need to enhance understanding of mad’u psychology and to develop the emotional intelligence of da’i in order to improve the effectiveness of da’wah.

Abstract

The New Criminal Code (Article 39 of Law of 2023) states that perpetrators of criminal acts who, due to severe mental disorders or impaired thinking, are unable to realize the consequences of their actions, will not be punished. This study examines the application of this provision to murder perpetrators suffering from Alzheimer's. Due to its neurodegenerative nature, moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's disease organically eliminates mens rea, thus fulfilling the grounds for expungement. However, if there is prior negligence (neglect for treatment while still conscious), liability based on culpa can still be imposed. The study found disparities in judges' decisions due to loose interpretations and inconsistent psychiatric post-mortem examinations. It is recommended: (1) official guidelines for the interpretation of Article 39, (2) standardization of forensic examinations, and (3) the application of therapeutic sanctions in the form of mandatory treatment plus security (maatregel TBS) as an alternative to imprisonment, in order to achieve a balance of justice between the protection of ODGJ and the rights of victims.

Abstract

In the era of digital da'wah, social media platforms such as YouTube have become new spaces for preachers to deliver religious messages. One example is the lecture by Ustadzah Halimah Alaydrus titled “Don’t Be Sad, Prophet Muhammad Loves You”, presented through simple animation without directly showing the preacher. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic rhetoric on the emotions of the congregation in the lecture. The method used is descriptive qualitative through video observation and content analysis of language style, narrative, and audience responses in the comment section. The analysis is conducted using Aristotle’s rhetorical theory (ethos, pathos, logos) and the theory of religious emotions. The results indicate that the aspects of pathos and ethos are the most dominant, through the use of gentle language, stories of the Prophet’s exemplary character, and reassuring messages. These strategies successfully evoke positive emotions such as being touched, calmness, and love for the Prophet. Thus, Islamic rhetoric plays a role in strengthening the emotional and spiritual closeness of the congregation in the context of digital da'wah.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has given rise to various new phenomena in the social, economic, and religious lives of Muslims. This condition calls for a methodological renewal in understanding Islamic law that is adaptive to changing times. This article discusses the reconstruction of digital fiqh as an effort to apply the principle of ta?b?q al-a?k?m ‘al? al-naw?zil (the application of legal rulings to new issues), grounded in naql? (textual) evidence, ‘aql? (rational) reasoning, and ijtih?diyyah legal maxims. The study finds that the conceptual foundation of digital fiqh encompasses the values of trustworthiness (am?nah), responsibility, and the prohibition of causing harm to others, as emphasized in the Qur’an and the Sunnah. The contextualization of digital fiqh is divided into four main areas: fiqh al-ma‘l?m?t (fiqh of information), fiqh al-mu‘?mal?t al-raqmiyyah (fiqh of digital transactions), fiqh al-da‘wah al-raqmiyyah (fiqh of digital da‘wah), and fiqh al-akhl?q al-raqmiyyah (fiqh of digital ethics). U??l? and maq??id? approaches are employed to ensure that the principles of ?if? al-d?n, al-‘aql, al-m?l, al-nafs, and al-‘ir? are preserved in cyberspace. The main challenges faced include epistemological, methodological, and practical issues in establishing new technology-based legal rulings. This article recommends integration between Islamic scholars, IT experts, and regulators; the development of a digital fiqh curriculum in Islamic educational institutions; and the formulation of a codified Digital Media Fiqh as a guide to cyber ethics for Muslims.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of TVRI in maintaining interreligious harmony in Indonesia. As a public broadcasting institution, TVRI is expected to play a strategic role in building and preserving harmony among religious communities within a multicultural society. The results show that TVRI has actively presented programs that emphasize the values of diversity and interreligious tolerance. These programs include coverage of religious activities from various denominations, interfaith dialogues, and educational broadcasts that encourage mutual understanding among religious communities. In addition, TVRI provides space for the representation of all religions present in Indonesia. However, there are several limitations in TVRI’s role, such as the limited duration of coverage related to religious diversity compared to other news coverage, which may cause some audiences to be less interested in watching these broadcasts for extended periods. Furthermore, some programs may lack depth in addressing more complex issues of religious diversity. Therefore, improvements in both the quality and quantity of such programs are needed so that TVRI can be more effective in maintaining interreligious harmony. This study concludes that TVRI plays a significant role in maintaining interreligious harmony in Indonesia.

Abstract

Traditional methods of teaching faith and morals, such as lectures, memorization, sorogan, bandungan, and repetition, remain the mainstay of Islamic education. Although often associated with being outdated, these methods still play an important role in shaping moral and spiritual values, as well as a basic understanding of faith. This study aims to explain the characteristics of traditional methods, how these methods are applied in the teaching of faith and morals, and to evaluate the advantages, disadvantages, and relevance of these methods in the context of education in the 21st century at MTS Al-hidayah Cibodas Wanareja. As a new educational institution with limited facilities and infrastructure, it faces challenges in adopting digital technology. However, these limitations have actually triggered a strengthening of conventional methods. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach, where data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that traditional methods are still necessary as a basis for the transfer of knowledge from teachers to students, but they need to be balanced with modern learning approaches to meet the needs of today's students. Traditional methods emphasize emotional and spiritual touch (psychology-pedagogy), which is often reduced in screen-based learning. The effectiveness of character education is not determined by the strength of the interaction between educators and students.

Abstract

The conditions of entrepreneurial management in Indonesia and Europe show different but complementary dynamics in the context of modern business development. In Indonesia, entrepreneurship management is developing rapidly, driven by the growth of MSMEs, increased digital literacy, and government support through various incubation programs and access to financing. However, challenges remain in terms of management professionalization, long-term access to capital, and technological adaptability. Meanwhile, European countries generally have more established entrepreneurship management systems, characterized by strong innovation ecosystems, stable business regulations, and a strong research and development culture. Europe also excels in the implementation of sustainable management and the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies. A comparison of the two regions shows that Indonesia has significant potential through market growth and creative human resources, while Europe stands out for its mature and innovative management structures. Therefore, collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two regions have the potential to create more adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive entrepreneurship models.

Abstract

This study examines the existence of Islamic law in Indonesian legislation, focusing on the Marriage Law, Zakat Law, Hajj Law, and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). Using a library research method, the study aims to understand how Islamic law has been recognized as an integral part of the national legal system and its implications for nation-building. The findings reveal that Islamic law is not only practiced within society but also institutionalized in positive law: the Marriage Law No. 1/1974 as a codification of Islamic family law, Zakat Law No. 23/2011 as both a religious obligation and a social welfare instrument, Hajj Law No. 13/2008 (later Law No. 8/2019) ensuring the administration of pilgrimage in accordance with sharia, and KHI as a unification of Islamic family law applied in Religious Courts. In conclusion, Islamic law significantly contributes to the development of Indonesia’s legal system by strengthening moral values, ethics, and justice, while highlighting the need for harmonization between Islamic law and the national legal framework based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

Abstract

The transformation of social media into a comment section serves as a platform for public reception of religious messages. The popular messages of Ustadz Hanan Attaki have sparked various responses, demonstrating the potential for messages to be accepted (bullet effect) or rejected (boomerang effect). The dualistic nature of this phenomenon is highly contradictory when it comes to determining the effectiveness of religious communication in the digital space. This study aims to discover and examine patterns of boomerang and bullet effect acceptance in audience (mad'u) comments in response to Ustadz Hanan Attaki's religious content. Using a qualitative research design with descriptive comment analysis, data in the form of audience reactions on social media was collected using non-participatory observation and documentation techniques. The data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to categorize and interpret the nuances of acceptance and rejection. The results showed that the bullet effect was led by comments of emotional support and agreement with motivational themes, while the boomerang effect occurred from comments that questioned the contextual interpretation of religious teachings or the personal aspects of the da'i. Effective da'wah communication occurs when the message is in line with the audience's needs. This study contributes to mapping the challenges of digital dakwah reception, emphasizing the active role of the audience in creating meaning from messages.

Abstract

The study of wording in usul al-fiqh occupies a very important position in understanding the texts of the Qur'an and hadith, because it is from here that Islamic law is derived. Among the main topics of discussion is the analysis of wording in terms of its meaning, particularly the categories of zahir, nash, mufassar, and muhkam. These four categories play a strategic role in the process of istinbath (derivation) of law, as they determine the level of clarity, the possibility of interpretation, and the finality of a text. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, examining classical and contemporary literature, both usul al-fiqh books and modern studies. The results of the study show that: (1) zahir wording is clear but still open to interpretation, (2) nash wording is more definitive and can only be interpreted according to its primary meaning, (3) mufassar is very clear wording that does not require additional interpretation, and (4) muhkam is the most definitive wording that does not accept changes in meaning. This study confirms that the hierarchy of the meaning of lafaz is an important tool in maintaining the balance between preserving the authority of the text and the need for contextualization of Islamic law. Thus, this classification remains relevant in addressing contemporary Islamic legal issues.
