Abstract

Technological developments in the Era 5.0 have brought fundamental changes to various aspects of life, including the methodology of Islamic law. This article addresses two main focuses: the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in contemporary ijtihad and the ethics of digital information dissemination from the perspective of Islamic law. Using a qualitative approach based on a literature review, the study shows that AI has significant potential to assist the process of legal through big data analysis, natural language processing, and more efficient management of shariah literature. Nevertheless, AI has epistemological limitations and cannot replace the role of the mujtahid, which requires fiqhiyyah intuition, an understanding of maqasid al-shariah, and moral judgment. On the other hand, the digital era demands the application of information ethics, particularly the principle of tabayyun and the concept of “filter before sharing,” in order to prevent the spread of hoaxes, slander, and distortions of religious teachings in the public sphere. The findings affirm that the integration of technology into Islamic law must be conducted selectively and ethically, while remaining oriented toward the public good (maslahah). Thus, synergy between digital innovation and shariah values is key to maintaining the relevance and authority of Islamic law amid modern technological developments.

Abstract

The regional head election (Pemilukada) in Indonesia is an important part of the democratic process, which will be held simultaneously on November 27, 2024. This event involves all elements of society in determining regional leaders, including governors, regents, and mayors. The General Election Commission (KPU) plays the role of an independent and neutral organizer, responsible for ensuring that the election is conducted fairly and democratically. In an effort to increase public participation, the KPU implements the Voter Education Socialization program, which aims to provide understanding of the importance of Pemilukada, the voting process, and citizens' responsibilities. This study employs a qualitative approach with library research methods to explore the role of KPU's Public Relations in this socialization program. The findings indicate that the KPU has successfully raised awareness and participation among the public through various communication strategies, including the use of social media and direct activities. Although there has been a decline in voter participation compared to the previous presidential election, this socialization program is expected to strengthen community engagement in the 2024 Pemilukada. This research contributes to the literature on the role of KPU's Public Relations in creating a society that is aware of the importance of elections, particularly in the context of the 2024 Pemilukada

Abstract

The dissemination of false information or hoaxes that cause public panic constitutes a serious challenge in modern society, particularly in the digital era characterized by rapid information flow and minimal verification processes. The massive spread of false information can generate social unrest, disrupt public order, and potentially threaten national stability as well as public trust in the state. Therefore, criminal law plays a crucial role as an instrument for protecting public interests through regulation and punishment of such acts. This article aims to analyze the regulation of criminal sanctions against the dissemination of false information that causes public panic within the National Criminal Code (KUHP), especially following the enactment of the 2023 KUHP. This research employs a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches by examining criminal law norms, legal doctrines, and relevant regulations. The findings indicate that the regulation of false information dissemination in the new KUHP reflects the state's effort to maintain public order and provide legal certainty, yet it requires careful interpretation to avoid conflict with the principle of freedom of expression. Thus, criminal punishment for the dissemination of false information must be applied proportionally, fairly, and oriented toward the protection of public interests.

Abstract

This research discusses the strategic role of the East Java Province Department of Industry and Trade in developing creative industries through the establishment and management of the East Java Information Technology Creative (JITC) Surabaya. The background to the formation of JITC is based on the increasing importance of the creative and digital industry sector in driving regional economic growth and job creation in the era of a knowledge-based economy. The East Java Provincial Government responded to this development by providing technology facilities and collaboration spaces that support the activities of creative industry players, especially digital startups. JITC not only functions as a center for innovation and human resource training, but also as an ecosystem that facilitates digital product development, technical skills training, and expanding market networks for creative business actors. Apart from that, JITC's contribution to local revenue (PAD) is also starting to be seen through increasing local economic activity, business taxes, and the creation of new technology-based businesses. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method which focuses on the role of East Java Information Technology Creative (JITC) Surabaya as the main unit of analysis. This research shows that collaboration between government institutions and creative communities through infrastructure such as JITC has a real impact on economic development and sustainable community empowerment.

Abstract

From an Islamic perspective, leadership and motivation are two essential elements that are interrelated in shaping the quality of organizations and individuals. Islamic leadership can be understood as spiritual, requiring the application of the values of justice, honesty, deliberation, trustworthiness, concern for the welfare of the community, and the ability to manage and direct. On the other hand, motivation functions as a driving force that influences behavioral consistency, direction, and intensity in achieving success. This paper reviews the concept of Islamic leadership, the factors that influence motivation, as well as theories of motivation and achievement motivation, then relates them to the practice of Islamic entrepreneurship. Through a review of literature and history, the discussion shows that the integration of Islamic leadership and achievement motivation creates an entrepreneurial model focused on blessings and halal profits. This principle has been proven to be able to produce an ethical, just, and sustainable economic system.

Abstract

Honesty is a fundamental value in Islamic teachings that is closely related to the formation of individual morality and social order. One hadith that explicitly emphasizes the importance of honesty is the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which states that honesty leads to goodness and goodness leads to Paradise. This study aims to examine the hadith on honesty through the approach of takhrij al-?adith and philosophical analysis in order to determine its authenticity, textual variations, and the ethical implications of its meaning in the social life of Muslims. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research design. Primary data sources consist of authoritative hadith collections such as ?a?i? al-Bukhari, ?a?i? Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan al-Tirmidhi, and Musnad A?mad, supported by secondary sources including scholarly books and academic journal articles. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of hadith tracing (takhrij), sanad and matn criticism, itibar of transmission chains, as well as philosophical and contextual analysis. The findings indicate that the hadith stating that “honesty leads to goodness” has a continuous chain of transmission, reliable narrators (thiqah), and a text that does not contradict the Qur’an or sound reasoning, thus classifying it as an authentic hadith. Philosophically, this hadith affirms that honesty serves as a foundational principle for moral integrity, noble character development, and social harmony, while dishonesty constitutes a source of moral and social corruption. Therefore, the internalization of honesty as taught in the hadith remains highly relevant in addressing contemporary moral challenges.

Abstract

This study examines Islamic legal products and their implementation in Indonesia within the framework of integrating Sharia values with the national legal system. Islamic legal products are the result of istinba? al-a?kam derived from primary sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, ijma, and qiyas, which are then applied across various aspects of life. In Indonesia, their implementation is reflected in regulations such as the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), the Islamic Banking Law, the Zakat Law, and the Waqf Law, as well as in institutions such as the Religious Courts, BAZNAS, and BWI. This study shows that the implementation of Islamic law takes place through three main channels: substantive law, formal law, and social law. Although significant progress has been made, the application of Islamic law still faces challenges in the form of legal pluralism, differences among schools of thought, and limitations in human resources. Therefore, strengthening regulations, improving the competence of legal practitioners, and promoting interdisciplinary research are necessary to ensure that the values of justice and public welfare (ma?la?ah) in Islam are more deeply internalized within the national legal system.

Abstract

Dissolved oxygen (DO) is a key indicator of water quality that critically determines the health of aquatic ecosystems and the effectiveness of natural water treatment processes. This study analyzes the role of DO in supporting sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) in the Krueng Cunda River, Lhokseumawe City, through a literature review and water quality analysis based on purposive sampling at five observation points. The analyzed parameters include temperature (29–33?°C), DO (6.3–7.7?mg/L), organic carbon (0.126–3.73%), pH (7.30–7.90), and total nitrogen (1.4–3.6?mg/L), compared with water quality standards according to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001. The results show that DO levels in the Krueng Cunda River are within a good range (6.3–7.7?mg/L), corresponding to Class I–II, thus still supporting aquatic life and aerobic decomposition of organic matter. However, anthropogenic pressures from domestic activities and brackish aquaculture have the potential to reduce DO if not controlled through pollutant load management and enhancement of natural aeration. These findings highlight that the development of SuDS in the Krueng Cunda River should prioritize controlling organic pollution and designing drainage elements that promote aeration and the river’s self-purification processes.
