Abstract

The background of this research is the gap between constitutional recognition of indigenous peoples as mandated by Article 18B paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and the suboptimal governance of customary institutions at the regional level. This qualitative research employs a case study method on the Minahasa Customary Council, collecting data through document study on the draft articles of association and bylaws of the Minahasa Customary Council for the year 2025, the academic manuscript of the regional regulation draft, and various relevant laws and regulations. The findings reveal that the Minahasa Customary Council has a robust organizational structure by adopting the Trias Politica Adat principle, which divides power among the Plenary Assembly of Custom, the Joint Secretariat of Custom, and the Customary Court and Council of Elders. However, this institution faces significant obstacles due to the absence of legal umbrella at the regional level, as the regional regulation draft on the establishment of the Minahasa Customary Council and Customary Court remains stalled in academic manuscript status. This study formulates a Public Management Model for Minahasa Customary Council Governance Based on Living Law, integrating three main pillars, namely strengthening organizational structure through institutional formalization and procedural standardization, developing human resource management through competency-based recruitment systems and regeneration programs, and performance-based financial management through customary accounting standardization and the establishment of the Customary Financial Audit Board. This model integrates Minahasa's living law values, namely Si Tou Timou Tumou Tou, Mapalus, Maesaan, Kasuruan, and Tonaasan, with good governance principles.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are at a higher risk of decreased hemoglobin levels due to increased iron requirements during growth and menstruation. Low hemoglobin levels can lead to impaired concentration, reduced physical fitness, and limitations in daily activities. Moringa oleifera leaves contain iron, vitamin C, vitamin A, and protein, all of which play important roles in hemoglobin synthesis, making them a potential nutritional intervention to increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls. This study aimed to determine the effect of Moringa oleifera leaf powder supplementation on hemoglobin levels among female students at Universitas ’Aisyiyah Surakarta. This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 22 adolescent girls selected through simple random sampling. Hemoglobin levels were measured before and after the administration of Moringa oleifera leaf powder for seven days. Data were analyzed using the Paired Samples t-Test with a 95% confidence level. The mean hemoglobin level before the intervention was 11.945 g/dL, which increased to 13.545 g/dL after the intervention, with a mean increase of 1.600 g/dL. The results of the Paired Samples t-Test showed a p-value of

Abstract

The criminal offense of illegal abortion constitutes a crime against human life that violates the provisions of Indonesian criminal law as well as moral and ethical norms. This study aims to analyze the juridical classification of illegal abortion, the forms of criminal liability imposed on perpetrators, and the grounds for the exclusion of criminal liability as stipulated by law. The research employs a normative legal research method using both the statutory approach and the conceptual approach by examining primary and secondary legal materials. The findings indicate that illegal abortion is generally prohibited under both the former Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) and the new Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023), and is further regulated mutatis mutandis under the Health Law (Law No. 17 of 2023). Criminal liability may be imposed on perpetrators—including women who intentionally terminate their pregnancies, medical professionals, and third parties who assist in the procedure—provided that they possess criminal responsibility, act with intent (dolus), and no grounds for justification or excuse apply. Exceptions to criminal liability are recognized only where abortion is performed on the basis of a medical emergency or in cases involving victims of rape or sexual violence resulting in pregnancy, provided that the procedure is carried out in accordance with accredited medical standards and the applicable legal requirements.

Abstract

The Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon occurs when temperatures in urban areas are significantly higher than those in surrounding rural regions. This is primarily caused by the concentration of buildings, vehicles, and human activities that generate and retain heat. As a result, cities become considerably warmer, especially during the daytime, leading to reduced thermal comfort and a decline in residents' quality of life. This study examines the role of urban forests in mitigating this issue. Using a literature review method, the researcher analyzed various scientific sources to understand how urban forests contribute to lowering ambient temperatures and improving air quality. The findings indicate that trees in urban environments can reduce air temperatures by approximately 1–8°C through shading and evapotranspiration. In addition, urban forests play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide and mitigating the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions. The cooling effectiveness depends on factors such as tree species, canopy density, and the spatial arrangement of green spaces within the city. Therefore, the development and maintenance of urban forests represent an effective nature-based solution for creating cooler, healthier, and more sustainable cities in the face of increasingly extreme climate change.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety among twelfth-grade students at SMAIT X. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The sample consisted of 82 students selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a self-efficacy scale based on Bandura's (1997) theory and an academic anxiety scale based on the dimensions proposed by Cassady and Johnson (2002). Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with IBM SPSS Statistics version 29. The results showed a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety (r = -0.361, p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the higher the students' self-efficacy in dealing with academic demands, the lower their academic anxiety, and vice versa. Therefore, self-efficacy is significantly associated with academic anxiety among twelfth-grade students at SMAIT X..

Abstract

This study was motivated by the surge of newcomers and language schools in Kampung Inggris Pare during 2009–2010, which triggered social problems such as unhealthy competition among language schools and conflicts among newcomers leading to the establishment of the Language Village Forum (FKB) in 2011. The research questions for this study are: (1) What was the background behind the establishment of the FKB? (2) What role does the FKB play in managing language institutions? and (3) How has the FKB contributed to enhancing the potential of a learning society from 2011 to 2022? The methodology employed is the historical method, encompassing heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, utilizing primary sources such as interviews, government regulations, and archives, as well as secondary sources. The research findings indicate that the FKB plays a crucial role in managing institutions in Kampung Inggris. Although coordination was less than optimal from 2011 to 2018, the 2018 trademark conflict served as a turning point in the organization’s awareness. From 2019 to 2022, the FKB successfully improved institutional management, established strategic partnerships, and helped Tulungrejo Village achieve a MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) record. The FKB also succeeded in enhancing the potential of the learning society through community empowerment, synergy with the local government, and efforts to build a conducive learning environment.

Abstract

The construction of the Kali Sorong Bridge aims to improve accessibility and support the smooth mobility of the community. Prior to project implementation, an economic feasibility evaluation is required to assess the balance between the expected benefits and the investment costs incurred. This study aims to evaluate the economic feasibility of the Kali Sorong Bridge construction using the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) method with the indicators of Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). The benefit components analyzed include travel time savings, travel cost savings, improved safety and comfort, reduced traffic congestion, and regional economic development. The cost components consist of land acquisition costs, planning costs, construction costs, and maintenance costs. The analysis results show a BCR value of 1.373, an NPV of –IDR 794,410,335, an IRR of 2.46%, and a Payback Period of 19 years and 7.07 months. The BCR value indicates that the project's benefits exceed its costs, whereas the NPV and IRR values indicate that the project does not satisfy the feasibility criteria based on these two indicators. Therefore, the economic feasibility assessment of bridge construction projects should consider all evaluation indicators comprehensively to support more informed investment decisions.
