Abstract

Responsible behavior is an essential life skill that must be possessed by Indonesian Migrant Worker Candidates (CPMI), both in personal and financial contexts. This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding and capability of CPMI under the supervision of PJTKI AL Zubaran in developing responsible character through the Financial Life Skills (FLS) program. The problems faced by CPMI include lack of understanding about responsible behavior, low financial literacy, weak work character, and minimal preparation to face challenges in destination countries. The implementation method uses a participatory and interactive learning approach through simulation games, group discussions, case studies, personal reflection, and practical exercises for 90 minutes. The training materials cover basic concepts of responsibility, five key values forming responsibility (honesty, respect, fairness, accountability, and courage), application of responsible behavior in various contexts, responsible financial decision-making, and practical strategies to become a reliable individual. This activity is expected to equip CPMI with a comprehensive understanding that every action has consequences that must be accounted for, as well as increase their readiness in facing ethical dilemma situations in the workplace and wise financial management. The expected benefits include improving the quality of CPMI as professional workers who have integrity, positive reputation, and the ability to manage finances responsibly for a better future.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of mothers and posyandu cadres in communicating effectively with children. Many communication barriers occur in early childhood, such as crying, fear, refusal to eat, and anxiety during health procedures. These challenges reflect the limited understanding of parents and cadres regarding child developmental communication cues and strategies. The purpose of this activity was to provide training on effective verbal and nonverbal communication, communication according to the child's age, and practical techniques such as storytelling, role play, and emotional validation. The method consisted of lectures, discussions, case studies, demonstrations, and pre–post tests. The activity was attended by 25 participants, assisted by four students and one lecturer. Results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge from 50% (pre-test) to 95% (post-test). Participants demonstrated increased confidence in handling children’s emotions and communicating during feeding, immunization, and separation situations. This program is expected to strengthen the capacity of cadres and mothers to support healthy communication and child development in the community. Abstract

This community service program was conducted to address the need of Pondok Pesantren At-Tadzkir Maja for a more effective planning mechanism regarding the number of new student applicants, which previously lacked a data-driven prediction system. The purpose of this program is to implement a prediction model for forecasting the number of prospective students by utilizing the Prophet algorithm developed in prior research, and to provide an accessible predictive dashboard for operational use by the institution. The implementation involved needs assessment, model integration into the online admission system, dashboard development, user training, and evaluation of the administrators’ understanding. The results indicate that the model runs automatically and produces informative daily forecasts, while the dashboard enables administrators to interpret trend and seasonal patterns to support capacity planning and admission strategies. The program concludes that the implementation successfully improves the pesantren’s ability to make data-driven decisions, and it is recommended that future work integrates additional external variables and ensures regular model updates to maintain predictive accuracy.

Abstract

Community services the persistent issue of waste management in elementary schools, focusing on SD Tugumukti Kecamatan Cisarua Kabupaten Bandung Barat, where low levels of student awareness contribute to improper waste disposal within the school environment. The research aims to enhance students’ understanding and behavior regarding waste sorting through a structured educational program. Using a descriptive method, the study employed observations, interactive learning sessions, games, and pre-test and post-test assessments to analyze changes in students’ knowledge and behavior. The findings indicate a notable improvement in students’ comprehension of waste types and their ability to sort waste correctly, accompanied by observable positive behavioral changes after the intervention. The discussion highlights the alignment of these findings with environmental education theory, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning in shaping pro-environmental behavior. The study concludes that well-designed educational interventions can effectively cultivate environmental awareness among young learners and recommends continuous implementation of environmental education, supported by adequate facilities and active teacher involvement, to sustain long-term behavioral change. Abstract

Dysphagia is a swallowing disorder commonly experienced by older adults as well as patients with neurological disorders and chronic diseases. This condition may lead to various complications, including aspiration, malnutrition, and dehydration. The management of dysphagia is not limited to medical treatment but also requires a comprehensive non-pharmacological approach, including education, modification of food and fluid textures, and swallowing exercises. Food texture modification is performed to match the patient’s swallowing ability, thereby ensuring a safer and more effective eating process. Education plays an important role in improving patients’ understanding of safe eating practices, proper body positioning during meals, and adherence to recommended dietary guidelines. In addition, swallowing exercises are implemented to strengthen the muscles involved in the swallowing process and to improve coordination. Consistent application of these interventions is expected to reduce the risk of aspiration, enhance nutritional intake, and improve the quality of life of patients with dysphagia

Abstract

Community Service (KKN) is one of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the field of community service. This KKN activity was carried out in Klego Village, targeting students of SDN Klego 4. The problem found was the children's low awareness of and management of plastic waste, especially beverage bottle caps. Therefore, KKN students initiated a socialization activity for the Friends of Trash Socialization, followed by the use of bottle caps to make key chains as a medium for education and creativity for students. This activity aims to instill the use of plastic waste from an early age and increase students' awareness of the use of plastic waste. The methods used were socialization and direct practice. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of waste as well as increased creativity and concern for the environment. This activity is expected to become a means of continuous education for students of SDN Klego 4.

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste and limited land in urban areas like Noyontaansari Village requires innovative solutions that integrate environmental and economic aspects. This community service program aims to transform community behavior in managing plastic waste through the Galon Fish Smart (GFS) innovation and improve living standards through digital entrepreneurship. The implementation method used includes three main stages: outreach, technical education, and hands-on practice in building aquaculture installations, as well as digital marketing assistance. The program results show that the community has successfully transformed used gallons into a multifunctional aquaponics system that combines fish farming with vegetable crops such as kale, shallots, and chilies. This innovation has proven effective in reducing household expenses and increasing food self-sufficiency. In addition, digitalization assistance helps local MSMEs expand their market reach through promotions on social media and managing marketplace accounts. Overall, the synergy between sustainable waste management and digital literacy has successfully created economic independence for the residents of Noyontaansari Village. Abstract

Communication skills are fundamental to children’s development, as they enable social engagement, participation in learning, and independence in daily activities. Children with cerebral palsy commonly face communication challenges arising from speech motor limitations, deficits in expressive and receptive language, and complex communication demands, which can adversely influence their overall quality of life. This community-based program was designed to enhance the communication abilities of children with cerebral palsy by providing educational interventions for parents that emphasized speech therapy, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and the VI-KN method. The program was implemented at Politeknik Al-Islam Bandung on January 7, 2026, following an educational framework that included preparation, implementation, and evaluation phases. The activities comprised pre-test and post-test evaluations, interactive lectures, AAC demonstrations, practical application of the VI-KN method, and guided discussion sessions. Findings revealed a marked improvement in participants’ knowledge, with mean scores increasing from 40% before the intervention to 90% afterward. Parents also reported greater confidence and improved practical abilities in facilitating their children’s communication at home. In summary, this program effectively strengthened parental knowledge and competencies in supporting communication development among children with cerebral palsy. Future initiatives are recommended to be conducted continuously and expanded through collaborative efforts among families, professionals, and community stakeholders to promote inclusive and community-based rehabilitation. Abstract

Speech disorders that occur in the elderly, especially dysarthria,are a problem that causes impaired communication skills and a decline in quality of life due to neurological disorders.The elderly's lack of knowledge about risk factors and early signs of dysarthria often leads to delays in early intervention. This study aims to provide education on the risk factors for dysarthria and to assess the effectiveness of education in improving the knowledge of the elderly. This activity was carried out using a lecture method through verbal means, interactive discussions and question and answer sessions, as well as video screenings and facial exercise simulations. There were 30 elderly participants from the Salimah Elderly School, Arcamanik, Bandung, who participated in this activity. The results of the t-test on the pre-test and post-test showed significant values marked by a p-value of less than 0.05, namely 0.03. This indicates that the education provided was effective in increasing the knowledge of the elderly.

Abstract

Children with cerebral palsy (CP) often experience oromotor dysfunction, leading to difficulties in swallowing and speech, which can affect nutrition, communication, and social interaction. This community service activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of parents, caregivers, and educators in applying oromotor massage therapy to support swallowing and speech abilities in children with CP. The activity was conducted at Politeknik Al Islam Bandung on January 7, 2026, involving 25 participants. The methods included interactive lectures, demonstrations, simulations, supervised practice, and discussion sessions, accompanied by pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding and ability to perform oromotor massage correctly, including proper techniques for facial, lip, tongue, jaw, and pharyngeal stimulation. Participants also gained practical experience in adjusting techniques according to each child’s condition. The findings indicate that structured, repetitive, and guided oromotor massage can effectively improve swallowing and speech functions while empowering families to play an active role in home-based rehabilitation. The study concludes that this intervention is feasible, practical, and beneficial, and it is recommended that such training be regularly implemented and integrated into daily routines to optimize children’s functional outcomes.
