Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is an infection that attacks the body's immune system, especially white blood cells called CD4 cells. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) targets the immune system and weakens people's defenses against many infections and some types of cancer. The article was searched through several online databases, including PubMed, ProQuest, Scient Direct, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar. A total of 8871 articles were obtained that matched the keywords; 259 articles were free of duplication, and 54 full-text articles. Eligibility was carried out to determine articles that met the inclusion criteria, and 10 articles that met the criteria for the age range of respondents were found, with the article being 10-24 years old. The study design used a prospective study and a retrospective study. The total sample was 1,793 HIV-AIDS sufferers. The main result of MBSR is that it can help improve immunity in HIV-infected people. Stress reduction can buffer CD4+ and T lymphocyte decline in diverse community samples of HIV-infected individuals. Mindfulness's positive impact on outcomes is meaningful and important, including improved emotional coping and regulation, increased life satisfaction, decreased aggression, and decreased disease activity.

Abstract

Pleural effusion is the accumulation of fluid in the pleural cavity or membrane that separates the inner chest wall from the lungs. Pleural effusion can affect hemodynamics because increased intrapleural pressure can push organs in the mediastinum. Providing a semi-fowler position is one of the nursing interventions that is expected to improve hemodynamic status in patients with pleural effusion. This study aims to determine the implementation of nursing care for patients with pleural effusion by applying the semi-fowler position to hemodynamic status in the Catleya Room, dr. Soebandi Hospital, Jember. The research method in this study uses a case study. The respondents and place in this study were Mr. T. with pleural effusion in the Catleya Room of RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. Semifowler position intervention was given for 3 days with a duration of 2 hours. The results of this study indicate that on the first day, there was a decrease in blood pressure, MAP, and respiratory rate. While the pulse rate and oxygen saturation increased. On the second and third day, of the application of the semifowler position, the results showed that there was a decrease in respiratory rate and an increase in pulse rate and oxygen saturation. While there were no hemodynamic changes in blood pressure and MAP. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the semi-Fowler position has an effect on hemodynamic status, especially on reducing respiratory rate and increasing pulse rate and oxygen saturation.

Abstract

Patient safety is a process related to healthcare facilities that serve patients safely. The global issue of patient safety in health services is an important factor in certifying that hospitals can provide maximum service following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure patient safety by the principles of patient safety. The application of the principle of correct medication administration is something that must be considered to minimize patient safety events that can cause harm to patients, health workers, or hospitals. This study aimed to analyze medication administration with the six rights medication principles implemented by nurses in cases of anemia and hepatomegaly in Treatment Room C (RPC) RSU Kaliwates Jember. This type of research is quantitative, using a descriptive analysis case study approach. The results showed that the average total percentage related to applying the six rights principles of medication administration was 70%. The percentage of each indicator includes correct medication (84.62%), correct dose (38.46%), correct time (80.77%), correct patient (65.38%), correct route (61.54%), and correct documentation (66.67%). Based on these results, it is not optimal because the application of the six rights principles of medication administration has not reached a percentage of 100%. Health agencies must update strategies to improve nurse compliance in applying the six rights principles of medication administration.

Abstract

Snakebite is a global emergency that can result in death, especially among farmers. Knowledge of snakebite management for farmers can improve first aid skills and abilities. This study aims to analyze the importance of snakebite management on farmer safety. The method used in this research is a literature study by finding articles in 3 databases: Google Scholar (3,000 articles), Pubmed (4 articles), and ScienceDirect (196 articles). After that, the journals were sorted again with more specific keywords and years that met the criteria (2019-2024). The search keywords use two languages: the English keywords use "Knowledge" AND "Snakebite" AND "Management" AND "Farmers," and the Indonesian keywords use "Pengetahuan" AND "Manajemen" AND "Gigitan Ular" AND "Petani," then reviewed by reading the abstracts until finally reviewed by reading the abstract until finally a total of 10 titles were obtained. Based on these 10 articles, this study found that snakebite management education has an important effect on farmer safety. Snakebite first aid education and training have effectively improved farmers' knowledge and skills in handling snakebite cases. Approaches such as self-instructional modules, training workshops, and lectures have proven effective. Lack of first aid skills in snakebite incidents among farmers can be fatal. Therefore, nurses and health workers should educate farmers to reduce adverse outcomes and promote safer farming practices.

Abstract

Hallucinations could cause someone to be unable to distinguish between what was real and what was merely an illusion. During hallucinations, the client could react with suspicion, fear, curiosity, insecurity, anxiety, and confusion. In this case, Mr. H experienced auditory hallucinations in the form of male whispers. Spiritual dhikr therapy could be used as an approach to healing mental illness, emphasizing inner strength. This study aimed to apply spiritual dhikr therapy to patients with sensory perception disorders: auditory hallucinations. The method used was a case study on a patient with hallucinations, with spiritual dhikr therapy intervention provided for 7 days to the patient. The therapy included reciting the phrase "Alhamdulillah" 33 times, "Subhanallah" 33 times, "Astaghfirullah" 33 times, and "Allahu Akbar" 33 times over 10-15 minutes. The client underwent hallucination management intervention and was given spiritual dhikr therapy. After being conducted for 7 days, the client experienced a decrease in the level of hallucinations and an improvement in hallucination control. Improvement in hallucination control could be achieved by providing continuous hallucination management and spiritual dhikr therapy, enabling the client to awaken their will and belief and understand the techniques being taught. Conclusion: The application of spiritual dhikr therapy could yield positive results and serve as an effective non-pharmacological therapy for clients with auditory hallucinations or schizoaffective disorders

Abstract

The initial nursing assessment is a holistic record of the patient's condition and needs, which is used as a reference to determine effective and appropriate nursing interventions for the patient. Incomplete filling can affect the quality of health services provided to patients. This research aims to determine the description of compliance in filling out the initial nursing assessment by nurses at the hospital. This research was conducted from 21-26 October 2024 with a sample size of 68 medical record files. The design of this research is descriptive research. The results of this study show that of the eight components examined in this study, it was found that the highest level of completeness in filling out the initial nursing assessment form was in the physical assessment component of the patient, namely 35 medical records (51.4%), as well as the general assessment and assessment of the patient's medical history, namely as many as 33 medical records (48.5%). The component with the lowest completeness is the Gordon pattern assessment component, namely, zero medical records. The percentage of compliance for nurses is 89.7%, with the number of initial nursing assessment files being 61 files. This shows that the nurses are still not compliant in documenting the initial nursing assessment.

Abstract

Fluor albus is a common condition that occurs in pregnant women and can be caused by hormonal changes, infections, or poor hygiene. If not appropriately treated, fluor albus can increase the risk of infection in the reproductive tract, which can affect the health of the mother and fetus. Midwife communication plays an important role in providing practical education to improve the understanding and behavior of pregnant women in dealing with fluor albus. This study aims to analyze the communication between midwives and pregnant women in fluor albus education and identify effective methods in improving the understanding of pregnant women. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 midwives and 15 pregnant women who had received fluor albus education in antenatal services. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that midwife communication methods involving verbal communication, educational media, and direct demonstrations improved the understanding of pregnant women. However, obstacles such as limited consultation time, varying levels of education, and social stigma related to fluor albus are still challenges in educational communication. This study concludes that effective communication between midwives and pregnant women can improve the understanding and behavior of mothers in dealing with fluor albus. Communication training for midwives and the use of digital technology in health education are recommended to increase the effectiveness of information delivery.

Abstract

Discomfort during the third trimester of pregnancy, such as back pain, is a common complaint experienced by pregnant women due to physiological changes in the body. This study aims to provide comprehensive midwifery care to patients with complaints of low back pain. This research is a case study conducted at the Pasir Putih Health Center from April to June 2024. The subject of the study is Mrs. AS, who is 34 weeks pregnant with a single live intrauterine fetus in cephalic presentation. Instruments include midwifery care formats, observation sheets, screening forms, and partographs—data collection techniques employed both primary and secondary approaches. The results showed that the comprehensive midwifery care proceeded smoothly, with all examination results within normal limits. No discrepancies were found between facts and theories, as the midwifery care was carried out according to established standards. Documentation of the examination results was recorded using the Varney 7-step management framework and SOAP format. In conclusion, the comprehensive midwifery care provided to the patient proceeded successfully without any complications or pathological conditions detected. This demonstrates that the application of standardized midwifery care can optimally support maternal health during the third trimester of pregnancy

Abstract

Stunting is still a serious problem in many developing countries, including Indonesia. The government has taken various steps to address this condition, one of which is through the Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT). Baby food products containing moringa leaves are considered to be able to help in dealing with stunting. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing a healthy diet with moringa leaf fortification in handling stunted toddlers. The research method used was a quasi-experiment involving 50 toddlers divided into two groups: 25 in the treatment group and 25 in the control group. The study showed increased height in toddlers given moringa leaf-based food through fortification. On average, toddler height increased by 2.9 cm after the intervention. The results of the paired sample t-test statistical test showed a significance value of 0.003 (<0.05), indicating that moringa leaf fortification effectively improved the nutritional status of stunted toddlers. These findings suggest that moringa fortification could be a viable, sustainable approach to combat stunting in resource-limited settings. However, further research through randomized controlled trials and longitudinal studies is recommended to validate these outcomes and explore broader applications in public health nutrition programs.

Abstract

Toilet training is one way to teach children to control bowel movements and urine. It is important to teach children to be independent in ablution and defecation. Toilet training is suitable for teaching children good habits from an early age. This study aimed to determine whether health education with audiovisual media affects the independence of toilet training in preschool children. The research method used is a pre-experimental design pretest and posttest group with a quantitative approach. The population of this study was all preschool, as many as 27 people. It shows that Before the intervention, it was found that independence had not been developed (BB) 0%, independence began to develop (MB) 25.9%, independence developed as expected (BSH) 40.7%, and independence was very well developed (BSB) 33.3%. It shows that after the intervention showed that independence did not develop (BB) 0%, independence began to develop (MB) 0%, independence developed as expected (BSH) 7.4% independence is very well developed (BSB) 92.6%. It shows that the average score before and after providing health education is -4.519, the standard deviation is 1.528, and the p-value is 0.000. Health education and audiovisual media influence the independence attitude of preschool children. Policymakers and healthcare institutions should prioritize incorporating digital tools into community health programs, particularly in underserved areas, to promote equitable access to essential developmental support.
