Abstract

Accurate reservoir inflow prediction is vital for effective water resource management in regions like the Upper Indus Basin (UIB), characterized by complex hydrological dynamics and increasing climate variability. This study evaluates the performance of Random Forest and KNN algorithms in predicting inflows for the Tarbela Dam, a critical infrastructure in Pakistan. Using historical data on precipitation, temperature, and inflow, the analysis reveals that Random Forest consistently outperforms KNN by capturing the variability and non-linear relationships inherent in UIB's hydrology. Random Forest demonstrated superior accuracy in tracking peaks and troughs, whereas KNN smoothed fluctuations, resulting in underestimations and overestimations, particularly during periods of high inflow. Evaluation metrics, including R², MAE, RMSE, and MBE, confirmed Random Forest's better predictive capabilities, while box plot analysis highlighted its effectiveness in capturing variability and extreme events in inflow data compared to KNN. These results emphasize the importance of accurate inflow predictions for reservoir operation, flood control, and drought mitigation.

Abstract

This study examines water use efficiency in the residential area of Taman Merlimau Bestari, Melaka, in response to the threat of water shortages exacerbated by extreme hot weather. Rising temperatures have led to increased water consumption, raising concerns about sustainability and the potential for future water scarcity. The main focus of the research is to analyze the impact of household water usage during heat stress periods. The study's objectives include evaluating current water consumption habits, promoting awareness of water conservation practices, and assessing the effectiveness of these efforts through the analysis of monthly water bills. Data was collected via random sampling, using questionnaires distributed to residents, along with monthly water bill records from Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB). After implementing awareness programs, results showed a significant reduction in water consumption, as reflected in lower water bills. The findings indicate that increasing awareness among residents plays a crucial role in improving water use efficiency, which can help reduce pressure on local water resources during extreme heat events. The study highlights the importance of ongoing education and proactive water management in addressing water scarcity challenges in Melaka.

Abstract

Beton merupakan material yang umum digunakan dalam pelaksanaan konstruksi karena mempunyai kekuatan tekan yang tinggi dengan biaya yang terjangkau. Namun, dalam pelaksanaannya sering dijumpai hasil akhir beton atau mutu beton aktual yang tidak sesuai dengan mutu beton rencana. Oleh karena itu, untuk meminimalisir terjadinya penyimpangan mutu dilakukan pengendalian mutu terhadap beton. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ketepatan mutu beton kolom pada Proyek Pembangunan Hotel X berdasarkan SNI 2847:2019 dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ketepatan mutu beton kolom pada Proyek Pembangunan Hotel X. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua jenis data yaitu sekunder dan data primer. Data sekunder berupa hasil uji kuat tekan beton pada kolom, sedangkan data primer didapatkan dari kuesioner. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Relative Importance Index (RII) dan metode Statistical Process Control (SPC). Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa mutu beton aktual lebih tinggi dari mutu beton rencana serta indikator yang sangat mempengaruhi ketepatan mutu beton berdasarkan nilai RII adalah rasio berat air dan semen.

Abstract

Building maintenance is essential for ensuring structural sustainability, especially during the post-retention period when responsibilities shift to the owner. This study analyzes the influence of six technical factors—building design, maintenance frequency, material availability, weather adaptation, material quality, and quality control—on maintenance success. A quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used, based on 50 expert responses. Results show all six factors significantly affect maintenance success, material quality was identified as the most dominant indicator within the technical factors construct, with a loading factor score of 0.784. Of the success indicators—cost, time, quality, user safety health and security, and durability—quality assurance is the most dominan with a loading factor score of 0.841. The model explains 61.8% of variance (R² = 0.618), demonstrating strong predictive relevance. These findings underscore the importance of integrating high-quality materials, applying strict quality control, and employing strategic planning. The study offers practical insights for building owners and contractors during the post-retention phase. Future research may expand on technological and environmental considerations for better maintenance outcomes.

Abstract

The increase in building construction requires the application of more effective and efficient methods to achieve optimal quality, time, and cost standards. One approach that has been widely developed in answering these challenges is Building Information Modeling. The rehabilitation project of the Kalimantan II River Basin Office Building still uses conventional planning without integrating BIM technology. This shows a gap between the potential of BIM and practice in the field, especially due to a lack of understanding of the technology. This study aims to determine the 3D structural model, determine the project schedule planning, and apply 4D BIM to the planning of the structural work schedule for the rehabilitation project for the Kalimantan II River Basin Office Building in Palangka Raya City. This research is a case study. The research was conducted at the Kalimantan II River Basin Office Building in Palangka Raya City along Jl. Tjilik Riwut Km 3.5. Implemented for 5 months, from September to February 2025. The research data are detailed engineering design, time schedule and technical specifications. The data analysis technique uses the building information modeling method. The results of the study showed that there was a 3D model of the building structure with a concrete quantity of 465.83 m³ and reinforcement of 56,364.86 kg. The implementation of 4D BIM with Autodesk Naviswork in schedule planning resulted in a total duration of structural work of 175 days, and produced a scheduling simulation that was integrated between the model and the implementation time. This integration has been proven to provide significant efficiency because it is able to reduce the correction or revision time that is common in conventional methods, while increasing accuracy, transparency, and coordination between parties involved in the construction project.

Abstract

A This study analyzes the implementation of green roofs integrated with lean construction in the Public Service Building of Kediri Regency, focusing on construction efficiency and environmental impact. Green roofs were selected as an innovative solution to mitigate urban heat island effects, enhance rainwater absorption, and support biodiversity, while lean construction was applied to minimize material waste, time, and labor. The research methods included literature reviews, primary data collection through questionnaires (100 respondents), and data analysis using SPSS and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). The results indicate that integrating these two concepts can reduce the building's microclimate temperature by 10–15% and shorten construction time by up to 25% compared to conventional methods. Key supporting factors include the availability of local materials and policy support, while the main challenges are high initial costs and multidisciplinary coordination. The study provides recommendations for tropical climate-adapted green roof designs and lean construction strategies to improve project efficiency and reduce environmental impact, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities) and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

Abstract

Bojonegoro Regency, Lamongan Regency, Gresik Regency, Surabaya City, and Sidoarjo Regency are areas with very high levels of community mobility. Many migrants from Bojonegoro and Lamongan travel to Surabaya for work and further education. One of the transportation options available is the Arjonegoro Commuter Line. This study aims to determine passenger satisfaction with the appropriateness of fares based on their ability and willingness to pay. Primary data collection was obtained by distributing questionnaires to passengers. The Ability to Pay (ATP) analysis obtained a value of Rp 10,034 and analysis using the Willingness to Pay (WTP) method obtained a value of Rp 3,539. This condition indicates that the ability to pay is greater than the willingness to pay. This indicates that the current fare can be said to be appropriate because the fare is between the ATP and WTP values.

Abstract

Delays in the implementation of construction projects are often caused by various factors, such as location conditions that are not in accordance with estimates, changes in planning, the influence of weather conditions, and errors in project management. This study aims to evaluate the total duration and cost of the project after the implementation of the policy of increasing working hours in the construction of the Budi Asih Trenggalek Hospital Inpatient Building. The goal is to assess the extent to which additional man-hours can speed up project completion without incurring significant cost increases. Based on the results of the analysis, the project experienced an acceleration of time for 180 days with a total cost of IDR 2,506,360,952 after the increase in working hours was enforced. When compared to the initial planning, the project under normal conditions takes 189 days, with a breakdown of direct costs of IDR 2,231,100,000, indirect costs of IDR 322,270,000, and total project costs of IDR 2,553,370,000. Meanwhile, the results of the acceleration showed a direct cost of IDR 2,504,000,000, an indirect cost of IDR 2,360,952, and a total final project cost of IDR 2,506,360,952 with an implementation duration of 180 days. From the addition of these working hours, it is effective in accelerating the completion of the project without incurring significant costs, in the construction of the building the cost under normal conditions is Rp 2,553,370,000, while the cost in accelerated conditions is Rp 2,506,360,952, so the profit from the cost comparison is Rp 47,009,048,-

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the performance of Type C Terminal Belik in Pemalang Regency and to formulate improvement strategies. The methods used include user surveys, field observations, and interviews, complemented by an analysis of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and SWOT. The survey results from 100 respondents indicate that the majority of users are productive-age males working in the informal and private sectors. The CSI value of 59.25% indicates that users' satisfaction is in the 'fairly satisfied' category. The inventory of services shows that although most basic facilities such as waiting rooms, parking areas, and breastfeeding rooms are available, there are still shortcomings in safety, cleanliness, as well as information and complaint media. SWOT analysis produces improvement strategies that include optimizing infrastructure, enhancing human resource capacity, utilizing information technology, and cross-sector partnerships. This research shows that improving the overall and sustainable quality of terminal services is essential to realize terminals as safe, comfortable, and efficient public transportation hubs. Recommendations are provided so that terminal managers can use the results of this evaluation as a basis for service improvement in accordance with the standards set by the government.

Abstract

Setiap ruas jalan memiliki karakteristik lalu lintas yang berbeda, yang memengaruhi nilai ekuivalensi mobil penumpang (EMP). EMP merupakan faktor konversi untuk berbagai jenis kendaraan terhadap mobil penumpang, guna menilai dampaknya terhadap lalu lintas. Nilai EMP dalam PKJI 2023 telah ditetapkan berdasarkan tipe jalan, namun perlu dikaji ulang agar sesuai dengan kondisi aktual. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada ruas Jalan Tambak Osowilangun Surabaya yang didominasi kendaraan berat, sehingga pola berkendara cenderung agresif. Metode yang digunakan adalah time headway dan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai EMP truk besar dengan metode time headway adalah 2,13 untuk volume 1000–1799 kendaraan/jam; 1,85 untuk volume 1800–2149 kendaraan/jam; dan 2,28 untuk volume ≥2150 kendaraan/jam. Sementara itu, metode regresi linear berganda menghasilkan nilai EMP sebesar 1,01; 0,94; dan 1,00 untuk volume yang sama. Nilai derajat kejenuhan yang dihitung menggunakan EMP dari metode time headway pada volume 1000–1799 kendaraan per jam memiliki nilai 3% lebih besar dari perhitungan dengan EMP PKJI 2023. Untuk volume 1800–2149 kend/jam, hasilnya 92% lebih kecil, dan pada volume ≥2150 kend/jam, hasilnya 3% lebih besar. Sedangkan derajat kejenuhan berdasarkan EMP hasil regresi linear berganda memiliki nilai 79% – 92% lebih kecil dibandingkan perhitungan menggunakan EMP dari PKJI 2023.
