Abstract

This study aims to analyze the waste management system in Tanjungpinang City and the innovations made by the Ganet Landfill Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) in reducing environmental pollution. The main problem faced is the increasing amount of waste along with population growth, which has an impact on the landfill's capacity. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach by examining the waste management process from collection, transportation, sorting, to final processing. The results show that waste management at the Ganet landfill has implemented various innovations such as composting, processing plastic waste into fuel through pyrolysis, and utilizing methane gas as an alternative energy source. In addition, waste reduction programs such as waste banks and community outreach also support waste control efforts. However, the continuous increase in waste volume poses a challenge to the sustainability of the existing management system. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen policies, increase community participation, and develop sustainable innovations in waste management in Tanjungpinang City.

Abstract

The cosmetics industry in Surabaya is currently facing intense competition and challenges related to illegal products. However, PT Paragon Technology and Innovation has managed to maintain consumer loyalty by implementing a comprehensive Public Relations strategy through community engagement, digital PR, and the creation of brand experiences. This Public Relations strategy serves as a key element that functions not only as a promotional tool but also to build long term trust with consumers. This study aims to analyze Paragon's Public Relations strategy in maintaining brand loyalty within the Surabaya cosmetics market using a descriptive qualitative research method, with data collection techniques including in depth interviews with the promoter team and consumers, participant observation at various brand activations, and documentation. The most compelling aspect of this research is the use of interactive tactics such as Personal Color Analysis  services and creative DIY product making workshops, as well as strategic collaborations with communities and influencers who share the same brand values. This strategy is proven effective in building four relationship dimensions trust, commitment, satisfaction, and mutual interest which are capable of transforming impulsive buying behavior into strong loyalty. It is suggested that further research explore the influence of this strategy on broader market segments.

Abstract

The integration of local cultural values into film narratives holds significant potential to promote cultural tourism and strengthen creative industries in regional contexts. This study aims to explore and develop strategies for integrating local wisdom into film scriptwriting as a means of promoting culture-based tourism. Using the Art-Based Action Research (ABAR) approach, this research seeks to formulate a creative, participatory, and reflective model of script development that represents local cultural identity while supporting sustainable tourism and the growth of the creative industry. The findings indicate that the integration of local wisdom into film scripts requires an in-depth participatory research approach to ensure that culture functions not merely as a background element but as an active component shaping characters, conflicts, and dramatic structures. Furthermore, the study confirms that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in scriptwriting remains complementary due to the limited availability of digital data on local cultural content. In this context, AI serves as a tool for idea exploration and narrative mapping rather than a substitute for human creativity. This research also proposes an action research model specifically developed for the needs of film scriptwriting based on local wisdom. The findings contribute to strengthening film studies methodology and offer a new approach to scriptwriting practices that are collaborative, contextual, and culturally grounded.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existence of the Al-Fatah Transgender Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta through the lens of Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of social practice, with a focus on the dynamics of capital conversion and transgender agency. The central issue in this study is how marginalized groups, who often face religious and social exclusion, are able to maintain their living space amidst the dominance of patriarchal structures and religious conservatism. The method used is descriptive qualitative research, employing an in-depth literature review of various academic discourses on the relationship between gender and religion. The findings reveal that the existence of the Al-Fatah Islamic Boarding School is driven by the students’ success in converting cultural capital—specifically, inclusive theological knowledge—and social capital from advocacy networks into symbolic capital that legitimizes them as a religious student community. The agency formed through the accumulation of this capital enables transgender women to subvert the symbolic domination of society, while simultaneously negotiating their civic rights and access to worship independently and with dignity.
