Abstract

The process of hatching chicken eggs requires stable temperature and humidity control for optimal embryo development. This study aims to design and implement an automatic chicken egg hatching system based on Fuzzy Logic Control to control the temperature and humidity of the incubator adaptively. The study uses a design method with the Mamdani Fuzzy Logic approach. The object of the study is an automatic chicken egg hatching system, while the research sample is data from temperature and humidity sensor readings and actuator responses during the testing process. The research instruments consist of a DHT22 sensor, an ESP8266 microcontroller, a relay module, a heating lamp, a fan, a roller motor, an irrigation system, and a 16x2 LCD. Data analysis is carried out through functional testing of the system and evaluation of temperature and humidity control capabilities based on fuzzy inference results. The results of the study showed that the system was able to maintain the temperature in the range of 37.5–37.7°C with an average of 37.6°C and humidity in the range of 51.1–51.7% RH with an average of 51.44% RH, and run the actuator automatically according to the rules of Fuzzy Logic Mamdani. It was concluded that the system was able to maintain the stability of the incubator conditions so as to support the process of hatching chicken eggs automatically and adaptively.

Abstract

The availability of pharmaceutical personnel aligned with workload is essential for maintaining service quality, operational efficiency, and patient safety in retail pharmacies. This study aimed to analyze pharmaceutical staffing needs based on workload using the Workload Indicator of Staffing Needs (WISN) method in four Kimia Farma pharmacies in South Sumatra. A mixed-methods design was employed. Data were collected through focus group discussions, work sampling observations using a stopwatch, structured interviews, and secondary data, including patient visit reports and attendance records. Staffing requirements were calculated based on available working time, workload components, and allowance factors. The WISN ratios were 1.07458 at Sudirman Pharmacy, 1.16508 at Rosarum Pharmacy, 0.99705 at Symphoni Pharmacy, and 1.00414 at Rama Pharmacy. These findings indicate that staffing levels were generally adequate, although workload pressure varied across pharmacies. Support activities, particularly stock-taking, accounted for the largest proportion of working time and substantially influenced workload distribution. The findings demonstrate that staffing adequacy should be evaluated not only by workforce numbers or prescription volume but also by actual workload distribution. The WISN method provides an objective basis for pharmaceutical workforce planning and supports task redistribution, workflow simplification, enhanced administrative support, and improved information system utilization to optimize staffing efficiency in retail pharmacies.

Abstract

In an effort to improve healthcare services, the Mobile JKN application was introduced to facilitate patients in accessing registration and various healthcare facility services. Evaluation is necessary to determine the level of user satisfaction with the Mobile JKN application. One method that can be used to measure user satisfaction is the SERVQUAL method, which measures service quality based on users’ perceptions and expectations of the services provided. This study used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 85 respondents selected using a simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire based on the five SERVQUAL dimensions, namely tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Data were analyzed descriptively to determine the level of patient satisfaction with the services provided. The results showed that the level of patient satisfaction was categorized as very satisfied. The highest score was found in the tangible dimension with a Patient Satisfaction Index (PSI) of 91%, while the lowest score was in the responsiveness dimension with a PSI of 84%. The reliability dimension obtained a PSI of 87%, the assurance dimension 86%, and the empathy dimension 86%. These findings indicate that the application has facilitated the registration process; however, several aspects still need improvement, particularly in responsiveness and the speed of service within the application.

Abstract

Patients' lack of knowledge regarding surgical procedures may lead to anxiety, fear, and unpreparedness in facing surgical interventions. Preoperative education is one of the strategies used to improve patients' understanding and preparedness before surgery. The use of educational media, such as digital leaflets and motion media, is expected to enhance oncology surgery patients' knowledge regarding surgical procedures. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of preoperative education using digital leaflets and motion media on oncology surgery patients' knowledge of surgical procedures at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest with two-group design. A total of 30 respondents were selected using purposive sampling and divided into two groups: the digital leaflet group and the motion media group. Data were collected using an oncology surgery patient knowledge questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann–Whitney U Test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that education using digital leaflet media increased the mean knowledge score from 3.73 ± 1.49 to 5.47 ± 1.25 (p = 0.001). In the motion media group, the mean knowledge score increased from 4.07 ± 1.53 to 6.60 ± 1.40 (p = 0.001). The Mann–Whitney U Test showed a p-value of 0.032, indicating a significant difference in effectiveness between the two educational media. Motion media demonstrated greater improvement in patient knowledge, with a mean rank of 18.87 compared with 12.13 for digital leaflet media. Preoperative education using both digital leaflet and motion media was effective in improving oncology surgery patients' knowledge regarding surgical procedures. However, motion media proved to be more effective than digital leaflets in enhancing patients' understanding of surgical procedures.

Abstract

Immunization is an effort to provide immunity to babies and children by injecting vaccines into the body in order to make antibodies to prevent certain diseases. Then, a vaccine is a material used to stimulate the formation of anti-substances that are entered into the body through injections (for example the vaccines of  Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG), Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus (DPT) and Measles and through the mouth (for example the polio vaccine). To determine the relationship among education, knowledge and maternal parity with the completeness of children basic immunization at the Kalidoni Palembang Health Center in 2023.This research is an analytic survey research with a cross sectional approach. The study population was children aged ≥9-24 months who visited the immunization polyclinic at the Kalidoni Health Center in Palembang with a sample of 56 respondents who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The research variables included the independent variables which are education, knowledge and maternal parity and the dependent variable, namely the completeness of basic immunization for babies. Univariate and Bivariate data analysis. Based on the results of bivariate analysis using the Chi Square statistical test, it was found that on the mother's education variable ρ value = 0.001 (ρ ≤ 0.05), on the mother's knowledge variable ρ value = 0.001 (ρ ≤ 0.05) and on the maternal parity variable ρ value = 0.001 (ρ ≤ 0.05). From the results of the study there are three variables which are education, knowledge and maternal parity having a significant relationship with the completeness of children basic immunization. Abstract

In a very competitive business environment, particularly in the healthcare sector, human resources are now among the most crucial aspects influencing an organization's performance. Healthcare employees are required to show the best performance and excellent levels of work engagement to ensure patient safety and the quality of healthcare treatments. According to Schaufeli et al. (2002), work engagement is a positive, rewarding psychological condition characterized by vitality, devotion, and absorption in one's work. 200 responders were chosen through the use of purposeful sampling. Data were gathered by distributing questionnaires, and SEM-PLS was used for analysis. The results show that work engagement is positively and significantly impacted by strengths-based leadership. Furthermore, the use of strengths is positively and significantly impacted by strengths-based leadership, and work engagement is positively and significantly impacted by strengths use. Additionally, the findings show that the relationship between strengths-based leadership and work engagement is positively and significantly mediated by strengths utilization. These results imply that healthcare professionals' work engagement can be improved both directly and indirectly by adopting leadership methods that emphasize identifying and utilizing people' abilities. According to this study, healthcare organizations should encourage strengths-based leadership techniques in order to maximize the potential of healthcare workers, which will improve job engagement and raise the standard of healthcare services.

Abstract

Moringa oleifera leaves are widely recognized for containing flavonoid and phenolic compounds with the potential to promote wound healing by stimulating fibroblast activity. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Moringa oleifera leaf extract on the migration and morphological changes of NIH/3T3 fibroblast cells using an in vitro wound model. The experiment employed the scratch wound healing assay with five extract concentrations (12.5, 25, 50, 100, and 200 µg/mL) and one untreated control group (Blank). Observations were conducted on days 0, 1, and 2 using an inverted microscope. Image quantification was performed with ImageJ, and non-parametric statistical analysis (Kruskal–Wallis test) was conducted using RStudio. The evaluated parameters included cell count, cell density in the peripheral wound area, and four cell morphometric parameters (solidity, circularity, roundness, and aspect ratio). The results demonstrated a significant difference in cell count among treatment groups (p = 0.00072), with the 50 and 100 µg/mL groups showing the most consistent increase in cell number on days 1 and 2. The solidity parameter also differed significantly among treatment groups at each observation time point (p = 0.0014), whereas circularity, roundness, and aspect ratio exhibited significant differences in pairwise group comparisons despite the overall Kruskal–Wallis test not reaching statistical significance. Cell density in the peripheral wound area did not differ significantly among groups (p = 0.24). The 200 µg/mL concentration consistently showed the lowest cell count and cell density on day 2, suggesting a potential cytotoxic effect at high doses. These findings support a biphasic (hormetic) dose–response pattern, with concentrations of 50–100 µg/mL providing the most consistent stimulation of fibroblast cell migration and morphological changes, closely resembling the activated healthy cell phenotype observed in the untreated control group.

Abstract

Families of patients receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) often experience anxiety due to the patient's critical condition and the uncertainty surrounding the treatment process. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between nurses' therapeutic communication and the anxiety levels of patients' families in the ICU of Kotamobagu Regional General Hospital. The study employed an analytical correlational design with a cross-sectional approach involving 43 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Therapeutic Communication Questionnaire and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), and were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that nurses' therapeutic communication was categorized as good, with a mean score of 92.99, while the family anxiety level was categorized as moderate, with a mean score of 47.46. There was a strong and significant negative relationship between nurses' therapeutic communication and family anxiety levels (r = -0.721; p = 0.000), indicating that better therapeutic communication provided by nurses was associated with lower anxiety levels among patients' families in the ICU.

Abstract

Work fatigue is an occupational health issue that can reduce productivity, elevate the risk of workplace accidents, and threaten worker safety, particularly in high-risk occupations such as firefighting. This study examined the factors associated with work fatigue among officers of the Jambi City Fire Department, covering age, length of service, body mass index, smoking habits, workload, sleep quality, and heat exposure. A cross-sectional quantitative design was applied, involving all officers who met the inclusion criteria through a total sampling technique, yielding 192 respondents. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires and analyzed through univariate and bivariate chi-Square tests at a significance level of 0.05. The findings showed that 86.5% of respondents experienced a high level of work fatigue. No significant association was found between age (p=0.145), length of service (p=0.099), or body mass index (p=0.509) and work fatigue, whereas smoking behavior (p=0.018; PR=1.163), workload (p=0.025; PR=1.154), sleep quality (p=0.001; PR=1.218), and heat exposure (p=0.019; PR=1.195) were significantly associated with it. These four factors are therefore the main determinants of work fatigue among firefighters, and the institution is expected to design interventions addressing sleep management, workload distribution, smoking-cessation support, and heat-exposure control in the workplace.

Abstract

The DPR RI Main Clinic organizes a Medical Check-Up (MCU) program for employees of the Secretariat General (Setjen) of the DPR RI as an effort to early detect non-communicable diseases (PTM). DEDICATION 2024 Program data (n=1,063) showed a very high prevalence of NCDs: 89.6% of participants had at least one clinical disorder, with a predominance of central obesity (69.0%), hypertension (60.7%), and dyslipidemia (52.6%). Even though the MCU program budget ranges from IDR 1.3 million to IDR 2.5 million per participant, there has never been a formal economic study that calculates the cost efficiency per case of NCDs detected. Analyze the cost-effectiveness of the MCU program in early detection of NCDs at the DPR RI Main Clinic, including calculating the Average Cost-Effectiveness Ratio (ACER), Incremental Cost-Effectiveness Ratio (ICER), and Return on Investment (ROI) in preventing NCDs for four MCU package scenarios (Plan I–IV). Research using mixed methods approach with sequential explanatory design. The quantitative component is descriptive-analytic retrospective based on secondary data from MCU echelon II–IV medical records (n=208, total sampling), 2024 DEDICATION data (n=1,063), and 2022–2024 clinic financial reports. Unit cost calculations use the Activity-Based Costing (ABC) method. The qualitative component uses semi-structured in-depth interviews with 9 key informants based on Edward III's (1980) policy implementation framework. This research will produce ACER, ICER, and ROI values ​​for the four MCU scenarios, as well as identify the implementation factors that have the most influence on program efficiency. Projections of budget requirements for the expansion of the MCU to 2,786 active employees of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI will also be produced based on an economics of scale analysis. Expected The MCU Main Clinic Program of the DPR RI is hypothesized to be cost-effective with an ACER value below the WHO willingness-to-pay (WTP) threshold of 1× Indonesia's GDP per capita (Rp. 66 million/case). Scenarios with greater participant coverage are predicted to produce lower ACER due to the economies of scale effect. The results of the research will be the basis for recommendations for MCU policies that are efficient, high quality and fair for all employees of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI.
