Language style is a choice of words that have more meaning and the way to show about expression in many ways. This research focus on the using language style in Blackpink’s song lyrics “The Album” records 2020. The objectives of this research were to describe type and to find out the dominant type of language style in Blackpink’s song lyrics “The Album” records 2020. The writer uses descriptive qualitative design, in which the data are sentences that contain of language style in the lyrics. In analyzing the data the researcher applied qualitative descriptive.The result of this study, the researcher found 33 types of Rhetorical and Figurative Language Style which consist of 9 hyperbole, 1 litoses, 1 paradox, 10 simile, 8 metaphor, 2 metonymy, 2 allegory. Three types of language style simile, hyperbole, and metaphor are dominant.

This research discusses the responsibility depicted in Steven Piziks’ Exorcist: The Beginning. This responsibility is described trough the role of one of the main characters, chuma, pertaining to this close relation to his boss, Merrin.The analysis is divide into two sections i.e. responsibility for duty and responsibility for friendship. The former is related with the discussion on how Chuma works with Merrin, and whatever he does that gradually gives rise into the beginning of their friendship. The former describes more about the enternal friendship between Chuma and Merrin. This results indicate that the responsibility in a working circumstance could bring about an1 everlasting friendship between a boss and his worker. Then, Chuma as Merrin subordinate and close friend fights to defend Merrin from a Turkana soldier’s attack that it finally takes Chuma's life. This description, therefore, shows a friend in need is a friend indeed.

The researcher made this paper based on my discourse analysis to the song “My Heart Will Go On” as the theme of Titanic. It was interesting to analyze this song because the researcher really like the movie (Titanic) of which this song’s as the theme. The objective of this research was to know what the main idea or information from this song whether it is appropriate with the story of this movie or not. It was a descriptive qualitative method and it used the semantic approach to analyze the song lyrics. In order the researcher can understand the meaning of the song easily, first, translating the song lyrics into Indonesian, then trying to understand the meaning of each word in this song, next, analyzing the social and cultural context of the song. The researcher also tried to give a personal response to the song based on opinion to the movie generally and to the song specifically. It is a good song. This song is really about true love. The Titanic movie gave people a stereotype every time listened to this song they would imagine that the song is from Rose for jack, her true love. The content of this song is all about love. Love did not disappear although one of them was died. They would meet and see each other in her dream every night. It seems to be impossible, but it shows us what a powerful the true love is. “My Heart Will Go On” tells us the different point of view. In this song, true love can not disappear, it’s forever in her heart.

This research is an analysis of one of the characters in the drama Othello, namely Desdemona. The analysis used is a psychological approach. Psychoanalysis was taken by the researcher because it was considered capable of explaining Desdemona's character in more detail. The purpose of this study is to find out how Desdemona's character in Othello is seen from a psychological point of view. This research method is descriptive qualitative and uses a literature study design. Data is taken from various sources; drama transcripts, articles, and others. Researchers use literature study because researchers indirectly analyze drama scripts, then use library research to obtain appropriate data as research information. The researcher chose Othello's drama as a data source, while the data for this study were all sentences and dialogues between characters in the drama script. This study aims to identify the types of word formation that appear in politics articles and then to find out the dominant type in the data. The process of word formation is one of the important things to analyze because without realizing it often occurs in our daily lives. This research uses qualitative research method. The data used in the form of political articles in the 2021 edition of The Jakarta Post is 10 articles. In this study, there are several types used by researcher to collect and analyze data, including reading articles, identifying words, classification based on types of word formation, describing data and finally making conclusions. The results of this study show that there are 10 types of word formation based on Yule’s theory. Researcher found 370 words from 7 types of word formation and 3 other types were not found, including compounding 31 words (8,37%), blending 1 word (0,27%), clipping 4 word (1,08%), back formation 4 words (1,08%), acronym 20 words (5,40%), multiple process 1 word (0,27%), affixation 309 words (83,51%). Coinage, borrowing, and conversion are not found in the data. Based on calculations, the researcher concluded that affixation is the dominant type of word formation that appears in The Jakarta Post’s political articles.

Language was the medium of communication by which people can maintain their social relationships. It was impossible for people to live without socializing with others. Literature had many types in our daily life. Such as drama, novel, poetry, and novel. Language of literature worked had aesthetic element because literature was built by words. The figurative language had the implied meaning or we can say that the meaning of the figurative language was based on the context. Based on the results of the analysis in the novel “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain, the researcher can conclude that it was found 10 types of figurative language in the novel. The result of this analysis showed that there were 10 types of figurative languages found in this novel were; simile, personification, metaphor, synecdoche, allegory, paradox, metonymy, hyperbole, symbol, understatement, and irony. The type of figurative language that did not existed in this novel was the apostrophe. The types of figurative language personification and hyperbole were dominantly used in this novel, the author wants to made the reader not bored reading the novel and to make the readers know clearly the character of the existing characters in the novel. By using hyperbole readers can clarified the character or personality of the characters. The researcher proposed suggestions for the readers and literary enthusiasts were able to understanded the study of figurative language in particular used of language as a tool for communication.

This research analyzes the forms of racism in the film The Green mile by Frank Darabont. The Green Mile tells about the experience of a warden who has a prisoner who comes from black people and has magical powers within him. This research shown the treatment of racist forms experienced by minorities. The purpose of this research is first, to find out the types of racism found in the movie. Second, to find out the resistance shown in the movie. This study uses a semiotic approach by Charles Sanders Pierce. The method used is descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data in this research. The data sources are taken from dialogues and scenes in the film The Green Mile by Frank Darabont. The finding in the research are first, kinds of racism that occur in the green mile films are internalized racism, interpersonal racism, and institutional racism. Second, the resistance that shown in The Green Mile films are closed resistance and open resistance.

The main objectives of this research are to find: 1) what are the personality of the main character in Freud's Psychoanalysis? and 2) what kind of conflicts are experienced by the main character. This study used descriptive qualitative method. This thesis discusses psychoanalysis developed by Sigmund Freud: id, ego and superego. This thesis also discusses the conflicts experienced by the main character: internal conflicts (related to the psychology of the main character) and external conflicts (related to other characters, society, nature or things outside of her).

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN SPEAKING TROUGH ANIMATION MOVIE Rosmita Ambarita; Vera Kristiana; Ratna Sari Dewi

The objectives of the study were to investigate whether any significant difference in the improvement of students’ ability in story retelling using animation movie and without using animation movie. The total number of populations were 150 students. The sample in this study was 20 students. The researcher carried out an experimental study using statistical method called t-test. The researcher used two groups: experiment group and control group. In the control group the researcher used written text story, while in the experiment group, the researcher used animation movie. The data showed that the mean score of pre-test in experimental class was 73.5, while the mean score of pre-test in control group class was 74. Meanwhile, the mean score of post-test in experimental class was 78.1, and the mean score of post-test in control group class was 74.8. The statistical analysis showed that the minimum gained score of experimental class was 3 and the minimum gained score of control group class was 0. While, the highest gained score of experimental class was 8 and control group class was 2. The average gained score of experimental class was 4.6, and for control group class were 0.8. It can be concluded that the students’ speaking skill in experimental class that were given by the treatment through animation movie were improved more effectively than the control group.

This study is propose to reveal find out what kind of rebellion the main character did. The purpose of this study is to analyze rebellion based on inhumanity. And to analyze the rebellion in the novel The Hunger Games (2008). Data collection is by regularly reading novels and understanding the contents of the novel, then finding some existing data. The theory used to analyze the data uses a behavioristic approach theory. After analyzing the data, several reasons and goals of Katniss as the main character in the novel were found in participating in the game event.
