<![CDATA[Penelitian ini mengkaji pola susunan ide pada pidato argumentasi Martin Luther King Jr. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi jenis pola susunan ide yang digunakan dalam pidato argumentasinya dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana ide pro dan kontra disusun sehingga menghasilkan suatu pidato argumentasi yang dapat dipahami, menarik perhatian dan mempengaruhi publik. Melalui metode penelitian qualitatif deskriptif, diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa pidato argumentasi tersebut menggunakan 2 pola susunan yaitu ThesisË CON+RefutationË PRO IdeaË Conclusion dan pola susunan ThesisË PRO IdeaËCON + RefutationË Conclusion. Dengan demikian, ide dalam pidato tersebut disusun secara sistematis melalui tesis yang diikuti dengan ide pro atau kontra dan ditutup dengan kesimpulan. Selanjutnya, setiap ide pro dan kontra selalu didukung dengan contoh atau bukti untuk mendukung kebenaran ide yang disampaikan melalui pidato argumentasinya.]]>

<![CDATA[The study discusses how this Prophet stories writing is structured and its linguistic features by using descriptive method. The writing of Prophet stories is started by an introduction, followed by body of essay and the final paragraph is the conclusion as the closing of the story. The introduction provides some general idea related to the topic discussed then the body of essay discusses the specific ideas of the topic or the sequence of events occurred in the story. The last paragraph of the story is the conclusion provides suggestions, offer and commands to the people as the readers because there are some valuable moral lessons to take based on the ideas/meaning of the stories of the Prophet. Based on the linguistic features, the stories of the Prophet mainly use some tenses. Simple Past is used to describe the past events/activities occurred in the era of the Prophet and Present tense is used to describe fact or general truth and nowadays situation. Besides, the meaning or ideas of the stories are written mostly in statement (declarative sentence) in active voice but a few sentences are written in passive voice. Some ideas are also written in interrogative sentence (questions) found in introduction and imperative sentence (command) in the conclusion paragraph. <![CDATA[Penelitian ini berkonsentrasi pada presuposisi yang terdapat di dalam tulisan karya Ernest Hemingway ‘Indian Camp’. Selain menemukan presuposisi yang ada di dalam kalimat, penelitian ini juga membahas hubungan kebenaran kalimat dengan presuposisinya. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif qualitatif, presuposisi pada kalimat dan hubungan kebenaran antara kalimat dan presuposisi kalimat tersebut diidentifikasi. Jika kalimat tersebut benar atau salah maka presuposisi kalimat akan menjadi benar. Namun sebaliknya jika presuposisi kalimat tersebut benar atau salah maka kalimat tersebut tidak dapat menjadi benar atau salah sehingga kalimat tersebut tidak mempunyai nilai kebenaran.]]>

<![CDATA[In the village, Batu Jong-Jong Village, Bahorok District the land is very fertile. Lush plants that can be used as a mixture of traditional medicines. Housewives with a hereditary recipe to produce herbs derived from plants that become traditional business ingredients Karo. The purpose of this research is to find out alternative strategies and priority strategies that can be used as an effort to develop karo traditional ingredients in Batu Jong-Jong Village. Research methods with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection through interviews, observations, discussions. Interviews were conducted with the owners of the traditional herbs Karo business in the stone frog hamlet and also a questionnaire with forestry counselors and village heads. The results of the study, based on the results of the calculation of the IFE (Internal Factor Evalution) matrix, found that the total score was 3.15. While the results of calculations on the EFE (External Factor Evalution) matrix table, obtained a total weighted score of 2.87. The conclusion is that the traditional herb business in Karo is of moderate value because the score weight is above 2.50. So that the right strategy is market penetration and product development strategies.]]>

<![CDATA[This research analyzes meaning interpretation in the sentences of the article entitled “Islam: a Religion of Peace”. This article is analyzed using qualitative descriptive method and semantic theory. This research gives solution for the problems of how to interpret the sentences meaning of the article. This problem can be answered by using semantic theory or the theory of meaning of language. Based on the result of research, the meaning interpretation of the sentences found in the article “Islam: a Religion of Peace” are Islam is a teaching and a religion that believes in God, Prophet Muhammad pbuh. and Qur’an as the holy book. Islam has ideology of peace but there is deviation of the model (teaching of Islam).]]>

<![CDATA[This research is entitled "American Selfishness as reflected in Ira Levin’s A Kiss Before Dying”. The purpose of this study is to find out cause of selfishness that reflected American Selfishness that was found in the novel “A Kiss Before Dying” by Ira Levin. The method that has been used in this research is qualitative because this method can provide accurate data. The Data obtained from the novel A Kiss Before Dying consists of 3 Parts and fifteen chapters in each part. Data is also taken from the books and journals concerned with this research. The results showed that there are 2 causes Corliss reflected American selfishness they are stubbornness and rebels, and there are 2 impacts of that selfishness itself they are greedy anddeception.]]>

<![CDATA[The main problems of this research are to find the islamic values found in R.J Palacio’s “wonder”. The study used the descriptive qualitative research method. The subject of this research was R.J Palacio’s “Wonder”. The primary data of this research were experssions in words, sentences, qoutation and paragraph related to Islamic Values of manners and islamic Values of behaviour in the novel. The supporting data were obtained from some sources, such as book, article, journal and film related to manners and behaviour. In collecting data, read-write technique was used. The data analysis was conducted using islamic values approach. The result of this research show two important points. First, there are 4 types islamic values of manners that found in the novel reflected by Augie (protagonist). The second there are 4 types islamic values of behaviour in novel reflected by Augie (protagonist) namely: his behaviour towards friends explained about fairing to his friend, Augie’sbehaviour towards others explained about thangking to those who helped him and helping friend when it’s hard or happy. Augie’sbehaviour towards the elder and young people explained about how Augie’s talk to talk with older people more than him, Augie’sbehaviour toward his parents explained about his obidient and always make his parents happy.]]>

<![CDATA[The antagonist’s betrayal in Nicholas Spark’s “Dear John” is the analysis of an antagonist’s betrayal named Savannah who had a boyfriend, John, as an army but she married another person named Tim instead of John, but then she confessed that she loved John again. Betrayal is a problem in human life causing a bad feeling of sadness and disappointment for the one who is betrayed. Using descriptive qualitative method,antagonist’s betrayal is found in two points. First her selfishness and secondly her love is given to another person. Her selfishness is further classified into doing something as she liked, neglecting John and being careless to Tim. Furthermore, her betrayal in loving another person is proven from her written expression through letter and her spoken confession of loving another person.]]>
