Abstract

Parental parenting has a vital role in the development of a child's personality, including in shaping adolescents' self-confidence. Self-confidence is an individual's belief in their abilities and competence in facing life's challenges. In the modern era, family dynamics and the role of parents in raising children have become increasingly complex. Changes in lifestyle, work demands, and the influence of social media often provide new challenges in parenting patterns. This research aims to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and adolescent self-confidence. This research uses a correlational quantitative approach involving 107 adolescent respondents aged 18-21 years who live in Jakarta. The results of this analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between democratic and authoritarian parenting patterns and adolescents' self-confidence, while permissive parenting patterns do not have a significant relationship. Based on the results of this research, it is recommended that parents need to implement a democratic parenting pattern, prioritizing two-way communication, empathy, and providing consistent and flexible boundaries. AbstrakPola asuh orang tua memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan kepribadian anak, termasuk dalam membentuk kepercayaan diri remaja. Kepercayaan diri adalah keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuan dan kompetensinya dalam menghadapi tantangan hidup. Di era modern ini, dinamika keluarga dan peran orang tua dalam mengasuh anak semakin kompleks. Perubahan gaya hidup, tuntutan pekerjaan, serta pengaruh media sosial sering kali memberikan tantangan baru dalam pola pengasuhan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua dengan kepercayaan diri remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional yang melibatkan 107 responden remaja berusia 18-21 tahun yang berdomisili di Jakarta. Hasil analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara pola asuh demokratis dan otoriter dengan kepercayaan diri remaja secara signifikan, sementara pola asuh permisif tidak memiliki hubungan signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan agar orangtua perlu menerapkan pola asuh demokratis, yaitu mengedepankan komunikasi dua arah, empati dan pemberian batasan yang konsisten dan fleksibel.

Abstract

Marital satisfaction is an important indicator in assessing the quality of the relationship between spouses and contributes to psychological well-being and family stability. With the evolving dynamics of society and culture, studies on the determinants of marital satisfaction have become increasingly complex and require a systematic approach. This study aims to identify and map various factors influencing marital satisfaction through a scoping review method. The approach follows the PRISMA-ScR guidelines and employs the PEOS framework (Population, Exposure, Outcome, Study Design) to establish article selection criteria. Data were collected from two main databases, namely Google Scholar and PopCites.id, using relevant keywords and involving 10 empirical articles published between 2019 and 2024. The findings indicate that marital satisfaction is influenced by a combination of psychological, interpersonal, and sociocultural factors, such as emotion regulation, religiosity, communication, marital symbolism, gender norms, and psychological well-being. This review also highlights the variation in findings based on different cultural and social contexts. Therefore, understanding marital satisfaction must take into account specific local dynamics and adopt a multidisciplinary approach to ensure that developed interventions are more effective and applicable. AbstrakKepuasan pernikahan merupakan indikator penting dalam menilai kualitas relasi pasangan suami istri serta berkontribusi terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis dan stabilitas keluarga. Seiring perkembangan dinamika sosial dan budaya, studi mengenai determinan kepuasan pernikahan menjadi semakin kompleks dan membutuhkan pendekatan sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memetakan berbagai faktor yang memengaruhi kepuasan pernikahan melalui metode scoping review. Pendekatan ini mengikuti panduan PRISMA-ScR dengan menggunakan kerangka PEOS (Population, Exposure, Outcome, Study Design) untuk menyusun kriteria seleksi artikel. Data dikumpulkan dari dua basis data utama, yakni Google Scholar dan PopCites.id, dengan kata kunci yang relevan, dan melibatkan 10 artikel empiris terbitan 2019–2024. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan pernikahan dipengaruhi oleh kombinasi faktor psikologis, interpersonal, dan sosiokultural, seperti regulasi emosi, religiusitas, komunikasi, simbol pernikahan, norma gender, dan kesejahteraan psikologis. Tinjauan ini juga menyoroti adanya variasi temuan berdasarkan konteks budaya dan sosial yang berbeda. Oleh karena itu, pemahaman terhadap kepuasan pernikahan harus mempertimbangkan dinamika lokal yang spesifik dan pendekatan multidisipliner agar intervensi yang dikembangkan dapat lebih efektif dan aplikatif.

Abstract

The decline in psychological well-being among students is a global phenomenon, largely influenced by the unstable nature of adolescent life and the complex challenges they face in academic, social, and other aspects. This study examines the relationship between emotion regulation and psychological well-being among high school students in Surabaya. The research employed a quantitative correlational method and involved a sample of 427 students. Emotion regulation and psychological well-being were measured using validated scales. The results indicated that the majority of students reported a low level of psychological well-being (56,9%), while the level of emotion regulation was predominantly in the high category (44,3%). Data analysis revealed a moderately strong correlation between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient of 0.465. The p-value for the relationship between emotion regulation and psychological well-being was 0.000. At a significance level of 0.05, the p-value of 0.000 indicates a statistically significant result; thus, the null hypothesis is rejected. Therefore, the two variables are significantly associated. This study highlights a positive correlation between students’ emotion regulation and their psychological well-being. AbstrakPenurunan kesejahteraan psikologis di kalangan pelajar merupakan fenomena yang terjadi secara global yang disebabkan oleh fase kehidupan pelajar yang cenderung tidak stabil dan dihadapkan permasalahan kompleks pada aspek akademik, sosial, maupun isu lainnya. Studi ini mengkaji hubungan regulasi emosi dengan kesejahteraan psikologis pada siswa sekolah menengah atas di Kota Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional dan melibatkan 427 siswa sebagai sampel. Regulasi emosi dan kesejahteraan psikologis diukur menggunakan skala yang telah tervalidasi. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas siswa menunjukkan skor kesejahteraan psikologis pada taraf rendah yakni sebesar 56,9%, sedangkan skor regulasi emosi pada taraf tinggi yakni 44,3%. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya korelasi yang cukup kuat antara kedua variabel, dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,465. Nilai p-value antara regulasi emosi dan kesejahteraan psikologis adalah 0,000. Pada taraf signifikansi 0,05, nilai p sebesar 0,000 menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji signifikan, sehingga hipotesis nol ditolak. Dengan demikian, kedua variabel memiliki hubungan yang signifikan secara statistik. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa regulasi emosi siswa berkorelasi positif dengan kesejahteraan psikologis.

Abstract

Amid the increasingly diverse challenges of life, social media often becomes an outlet for releasing overwhelming stress. Some individuals choose platform X (formerly Twitter) due to its text-based format, which makes it easier for users to share emotional expressions in written form. This study aims to analyse the contribution of self-criticism in loneliness. The population in this study consists of active rant account users aged 18–25, selected using purposive sampling. A total of 96 participants were involved. The instruments used in this study include adaptation of the UCLA Loneliness Scale and the Forms of Self-Criticising/Attacking & Self-Reassuring Scale (FSCRS), both of which were adapted into Indonesian. The UCLA scale uses a 4-point Likert scale to measure the level of loneliness, while the FSCRS uses a 5-point Likert scale to assess levels of self-criticism. Both of the measuments using Cronbach alfa for their reliability and content validity. The result finds there is significant influence of self-criticism in loneliness. This finding is relevant particularly in understanding factors that affect individuals' mental well-being. Future research is recommended to conduct longitudinal studies to understand how the influence of self-criticism and loneliness evolves over time, and to explore the possibility of other variables influencing this relationship.

Abstract

Women with disabilities face various barriers in developing economic independence, including limited entrepreneurial skills and low self-efficacy. This study aims to develop and evaluate an experiential learning-based training program to improve both aspects among members of the Indonesian Association of Women with Disabilities. Employing a participatory action research approach, the study was conducted in three phases: needs assessment using the Organization–Task–Person (OTP) model, participatory design and implementation of the training, and evaluation through thematic coding analysis. The results show significant improvements in participants' confidence, business planning awareness, and communication skills. Three major themes emerged: increased self-confidence, more structured entrepreneurial awareness, and improved product communication abilities. The experiential learning-based training not only enhanced participants’ knowledge but also positively influenced their attitudes and behaviors. The study concludes that contextually designed training that integrates self-efficacy and entrepreneurial skills can serve as an effective empowerment strategy for women with disabilities and is recommended for replication in similar community contexts. AbstrakPerempuan penyandang disabilitas menghadapi berbagai hambatan dalam mengembangkan kemandirian ekonomi, termasuk keterbatasan dalam entrepreneurial skill dan rendahnya self-efficacy. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi pelatihan berbasis experiential learning untuk meningkatkan dua aspek tersebut pada anggota Himpunan Wanita Disabilitas Indonesia Dengan pendekatan participatory action research, kegiatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan: analisis kebutuhan dengan model Organization–Task–Person (OTP), desain dan implementasi pelatihan secara partisipatif, serta evaluasi berbasis teknik koding tematik. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada rasa percaya diri, pemahaman perencanaan usaha, serta keterampilan komunikasi produk peserta. Tiga tema utama yang muncul adalah pertumbuhan keberanian, kesadaran wirausaha yang lebih sistematis, dan keterampilan komunikasi yang aplikatif. Pelatihan berbasis pengalaman terbukti tidak hanya meningkatkan pengetahuan, tetapi juga mengubah sikap dan perilaku peserta secara positif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pelatihan kontekstual yang mengintegrasikan self-efficacy dan entrepreneurial skill dapat menjadi strategi pemberdayaan efektif bagi perempuan penyandang disabilitas dan direkomendasikan untuk direplikasi dalam konteks komunitas serupa.
