Abstract

Pain and anxiety are common complaints experienced by patients after spinal anesthesia. One non-pharmacological method that can be used to reduce pain and anxiety is lavender aromatherapy. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy in reducing pain and anxiety levels in patients undergoing spinal anesthesia. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach in a single group without a control group. A total of 50 patients undergoing spinal anesthesia received lavender aromatherapy through a diffuser for 15-30 minutes before and after the anesthesia procedure. Pain levels were measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and anxiety levels were assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The results showed a significant reduction in patients' pain and anxiety levels after the administration of lavender aromatherapy (p < 0.05). Therefore, lavender aromatherapy is proven to be effective as a non-pharmacological method to help reduce pain and anxiety in patients undergoing spinal anesthesia.

Abstract

Physical education and sport are long-term investments in improving the quality of human resources. In this context, physical education not only plays a role in developing physical skills, but also in the cognitive and affective aspects of learners, all of which contribute to character building and healthy lifestyles. These methods are: inductive method and deductive method. The results of the research on “Optimizing Public Health Through Basic Sports Development of Sustainable Physical Education for the Community” show a significant positive impact on the physical and mental health of the community. Structured and sustainable sports programs, such as fitness exercises, have proven effective in improving the quality of life and well-being of residents. The program succeeded in raising community awareness about the importance of maintaining health through exercise. The education provided during the program helped participants understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and encouraged them to adopt new, healthier habits.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of advocacy and counseling in preventing juvenile delinquency in Baubau, a city facing challenges in addressing the high crime rates involving youth. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach from several schools and communities in Baubau. Data were collected through interviews with teenagers, educators, and relevant parties, as well as field observations. The research results show that advocacy and counseling programs involving parents, teachers, and other stakeholders have proven effective in raising youth awareness about the legal and social consequences of criminal actions. Despite this, the main challenge faced is the lack of community involvement as a whole and the limited funding and resources for these programs. This research suggests the need for a more holistic approach and continued efforts in crime prevention among the youth, by strengthening cooperation between the government, educational institutions, and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the English language skills of santri through interactive learning at Musholla An-Nur, Gadingrejo, Pasuruan. The interactive learning method used involves technology and activity-based approaches designed to stimulate the active participation of santri in the learning process. The research was conducted from January 1 to 31, 2025, involving 30 santri selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires. The results show that the interactive learning method effectively enhances the English language skills of the santri, particularly in vocabulary comprehension and speaking abailities. The implications of this study are expected to contribute to the development of English language learning in non-formal environments, especially in mushollas, and encourage the use of technology in language education.

Abstract

Education is very important for the progress of a civilization and of course education is not only an academic activity, but also as a foundation for students to contribute and actively participate in society through service. Service itself is an activity carried out by individuals or groups, such as students, lecturers, or educational institutions, to make a positive contribution to society. In accordance with the mission of UNNES college which is dedicated to contributing to society, we UNNES students strive to solve problems in society. We collaborate with partners, namely Sruwen Village, to solve problems in used cooking oil waste so that it does not become useless waste and has an impact on health and the environment. Used Cooking Oil is one of the wastes that is very often found in households. Used cooking oil is the remaining used cooking oil produced from household activities, restaurants, or the food industry. So that UNNES KKN GIAT 11 students develop used cooking oil products that can be developed especially in Sruwen Village, namely aromatherapy candle products through education and training so that they can be applied directly by housewives in dealing with used cooking oil waste. This activity was carried out on February 27, 2025 and at 9 am. The target of this activity is the mothers of the PKK Induk Sruwen Village. Community service aims to provide readers with knowledge related to the processing of used cooking oil waste, providing solutions in solving used cooking oil waste in the community.

Abstract

This activity is intended to improve students' creativity skills and instill an entrepreneurial spirit in 4th semester Business Administration students through training in making key chains from vanilla-scented clay. The implementation method uses a prescientific approach and practice-based learning with 4 main stages, namely planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. The results of the training showed a significant increase in six main aspects, namely satisfaction of learning effectiveness involvement, knowledge about clay, technical skills, understanding of entrepreneurship, and student creativity. In addition, this activity forms a collaborative culture, increases self-confidence, and fosters awareness of the potential for independent businesses. These findings indicate that the real practice approach is very effective in encouraging social transformation and the development of students' entrepreneurial character.

Abstract

A business feasibility study is a series of assessments that can be used to measure the feasibility of an investment or business proposal. Both new businesses and development of existing businesses. Kaysha Fire CHIcken, which has been operating for more than 2 years in Tanjung Mulia Medan, plans to expand its business by opening a new branch in Marelan as one of the steps to make the business better known to the people of North Sumatra. This research has used 7 main aspects that are commonly used in analyzing business feasibility and obtained the results that all these aspects show the business development plan seen from legal, market and marketing, financial, technical and operational, management and organizational, economic and social aspects as well as The environmental impact shows good results and is feasible to carry out, namely by opening this new branch. The research used is qualitative and quantitative research using field observation data collection techniques and documents from documents that have occurred in the main business, especially regarding financial reports. The selection of branch loci is also based on decisions outlined in technical and operational aspects.

Abstract

SMK Negeri 1 Bawen is located in Bawen District, Semarang Regency. Students of SMK Negeri 1 Bawen are prepared to become skilled middle-level workers in the agricultural processing industry. In addition, they are also equipped with entrepreneurial activities based on agricultural processing. So that graduates of SMK Negeri 1 Bawen are spread throughout the archipelago and work in various sectors of the Business and Industry World. The purpose of this community service activity is: To provide additional knowledge to students at SMK Negeri 1 Bawen about how to make chili powder, make chili cookies and marinate chicken with lavel seasoning, as provisions for them to work in various sectors of the Business and Industry World. The implementation of this activity provides explanations with leaflets and direct practice in front of the participants of the activity, namely 68 students of SMK Negeri 1 Bawen and three accompanying teachers. This community service activity can be concluded that: Students increased their knowledge and skills in making chili powder, processing chili cookies and marinating chicken with lavel spices and the responses of students participating in the activity showed interest and were able to process chili cookies and marinating chicken with lavel spices.

Abstract

This report presents the results of educational activities on planning a Budget Plan (RAB) for the construction of a simple house in the Taktakan area, Cilowong Village, Serang City. The aim of this activity is to increase public understanding of the importance of good budget planning and utilizing online-based software in preparing RAB. This activity includes direct training, interactive discussions, and practice using the software, so that participants can apply the knowledge gained. Situation analysis shows that many people do not understand the RAB, which has the potential to cause budget waste. With this education, it is hoped that people can be more independent in planning house construction, reduce the risk of waste, and improve their quality of life. It is also hoped that this activity will become a model for other regions facing similar challenges.

Abstract

Assistance activities carried out in planning the renovation of the Nur Ikhlas Mosque in Sukagalih Village, Sukajadi District, with the aim of helping the local community plan the renovation of the mosque so that it can meet the functional and aesthetic needs expected by the community. The mentoring process involves analyzing the current condition of the building, identifying community needs, and developing two alternative renovation plans. The community is actively involved in every planning stage, so they have a sense of ownership of the final result. It is hoped that this activity can improve the quality of worship facilities and strengthen social ties between residents.
