Abstract

Management practices in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural areas play a crucial role in enhancing business sustainability and competitiveness. This article explores various management strategies that rural MSMEs can implement to optimize their business operations. Through training and mentoring programs, MSME actors are provided with knowledge and skills in financial management, marketing, and operational management. Community service activities (PkM), conducted in conjunction with research activities using a case study approach on MSMEs in Bantargadung Village, Bantargadung Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, have formulated a management practice model for the sustainability of rural MSMEs. This model can be further developed to advance rural MSMEs, aiming to improve the village economy, enhance rural independence, stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and reduce unemployment rates in rural areas, ultimately improving the welfare of rural communities. Based on management practice theory, as well as guidance from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, the management practices for rural MSMEs include: 1) Efficient Inventory Management; 2) Production Process Improvement, particularly Production Efficiency; 3) Financial Management; 4) Human Resource Management; 5) Effective Marketing Strategies and the Use of Digital Marketing; and 6) Performance Evaluation and Control.

Abstract

Ulos cloth is a piece of woven fabric from handicrafts made by women with various patterns and rules. In making ulos, it is done in the same way, but the difference is the name, style or moitf and the nature of the position of its use adjusted to the type of traditional ceremony. Social media and marketing through social media is very important for SMEs because the operational costs of using social media are relatively low.  Social media has the potential to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in marketing goods and services. The purpose of this training is to invite and train Ulos weavers in Sigaol Porsea Village in utilizing social media as a medium for marketing and promoting the ulos produced. The social media used are Facebook and Instagram. The result of this training is that Ulos weavers in Sigaol Porsea Village began to understand the benefits of social media marketing such as Facebook and Instagram and will use it as a promotional and marketing media Marketing using social media is one of the marketing strategies that can be used by MSME actors to build networks via the internet. Thus, Ulos weavers in Sigaol village can reach a wider market in marketing the Ulos weaving produced.

Abstract

The first 1000 days of life are a golden period to optimize children's growth to avoid stunting. The pregnancy period plays a very important role in determining the health status of the mother and fetus. Specific nutritional intervention efforts are focused on the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK) group, namely pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children 0-23 months, because the most effective prevention of stunting is carried out in the 1,000 HPK (golden period or critical period/windows of opportunity) . The stunting rate in Tegal City has decreased from 23.9% to 16.8% in 2022. And cases of stunting in the Sumur Panggang Community Health Center area are 153 cases (9.9%) in 2023. One of the causes is malnutrition. due to the mother's lack of knowledge about providing balanced nutrition to children. So this requires intensive handling in this area. This Community Service was carried out on June 10 and 13 2024 at the Pregnant Women's Class in the Sumurpanggang Community Health Center Working Area, Tegal City. The target of this service activity is 20 pregnant women who take part in the Pregnancy Class in the Sumurpanggang Community Health Center Work Area. The method of this activity is by conducting outreach, providing material to participants about Stunting (definition, causes and impacts) and prevention using ABCDE. The activity went well and was conducive and participants were enthusiastic in presenting the material and actively asking questions. And in the evaluation there was an increase in participants' knowledge after being provided with material counseling.

Abstract

This community service aims to develop a digital platform to market local products and tourism potential in Senjoyo Village, Semarang Regency. The program was implemented using a participatory action research approach involving 30 MSME actors and tourism managers. Implementation methods include assessment, training, platform development, and intensive mentoring. The program results show an increase in digital understanding by 75%, an increase in MSME turnover by 35%, and a 45% increase in tourist visits. The Senjoyo Digital Market platform has successfully integrated 45 MSME products and 5 tour packages with a conversion rate of 8.5%. The formation of the Senjoyo Digital Community is the key to program sustainability. The main challenge in the form of digital gaps between generations can be overcome through adaptive learning approaches and mentoring systems.

Abstract

This community service program aims to develop servant leadership competencies for young sisters of the Order of Saint Francis (OSF) in Semarang City through seven habits training. Using a methodological approach that integrates andragogical principles and Franciscan spirituality, the program involved 25 young OSF sisters. The results show significant transformation in three competency areas: conceptual understanding of servant leadership, practical leadership skills, and reflective capacity. Evaluation reveals the effectiveness of integrating Franciscan spirituality, servant leadership principles, and the seven habits framework in creating a contextual leadership development model. This program makes an important contribution to developing transformative leadership training models for religious communities

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) aims to enhance the community’s awareness and ability to improve welfare and quality of life, as well as to contribute to the development of the target area. One of the issues faced by Blondo Village is the abundant plastic bottle waste. A potential solution to address this issue is by repurposing plastic bottle waste into products with market value. This approach not only helps reduce excessive plastic waste but also improves the local economy. Therefore, KKN Untidar Blondo Village, Period II, Academic Year 2024/2025, organized a socialization program on recycling plastic bottles, turning waste into economic value. This program seeks to tackle the issue of excessive plastic bottle waste. With proper knowledge and training on waste management, plastic waste will no longer be a concerning problem.

Abstract

According to Article 11 Paragraph 2 of Law number 13 of 2011 concerning Handling of the Poor, the government and regional governments can provide assistance and/or empowerment based on integrated data that has been created by the minister. DTKS is household based, but the poverty alleviation program uses social assistance and community empowerment based on families and individuals. The Family Hope Program (PKH) and Social Food Assistance are examples of family-based social assistance and community empowerment. Regional governments face several problems with population administration which is still carried out manually, using population registers, and local people are not aware of the poor administration system and do not report it. If population data changes. Therefore, it is necessary to apply information technology to certain areas in managing population administration, which is very important considering the population continues to grow.

Abstract

Children with intellectual disabilities face challenges in their cognitive and adaptive abilities within their environment. This condition clearly sets them apart from their peers without disabilities. Parents need to understand and accept all forms of limitations their child may have so they can provide proper care and nurturing, enabling optimal growth and development. However, not all parents are able to comprehend and accept their child's condition. This is why training activities are necessary for these parents. Training is provided to parents of children with intellectual disabilities at SDLB-C1 (moderately intellectually disabled) SLB Widya Bhakti Semarang. The training employs methods of lecturing and simulation through floortime activities. Through this training, each participant gains new knowledge and skills as an effort to increase parental acceptance towards children with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

The results of the Basic Health Research (2018) stated that the Indonesian population who have dental and oral problems aged 10-18 years are 61.9% and those aged >18 years are 54.2%. In Central Java Province, there are 56.7% of the population who experience dental and oral problems. Dental problems that often occur in Indonesia are cavities, missing or extracted teeth, filled teeth, and loose teeth. The age group of 10-18 years who experience cavities is 48.5%, missing or extracted teeth is 29%, filled teeth is 4.2%, and loose teeth is 15.9%, and those aged >18 years who experience cavities is 38.6%, missing or extracted teeth is 30.6%, filled teeth is 3.1%, and loose teeth is 15.5%. The results of a survey conducted on 22 teenagers living in Gentan Village on November 10, 2024 obtained data on the condition of dental and oral health and hygiene with an average OHI-S value of 4.9 with criteria (bad) with (DI = 2.4, CI = 2.3) this figure is very high because for good criteria it is 0-1.2 and the DMF-T figure is 1.2 with criteria (low). The implementation method is OHI-S examination, filling out questionnaires, oral gymnastics, prokesgisia gymnastics and counseling. Community service is carried out through interviews and training.

Abstract

Community service activities (Abdimas) were carried out on July 30, 2023 with the topic of Making Packaging in the Business Jagung Rice in Pabuaran Village, Bantar Bolang District, Pemalang The background of the problems in this village is the lack of knowledge about techniques to market Corn Rice to a wider market. The purpose of this community service is to provide guidance on packaging techniques for homemade Jagung Rice products to become superior products of local wisdom of the Pabuaran community. The community service method is carried out with a participatory and educational approach, involving 10 residents, namely housewives. As a result of this service, the mothers can make better product packaging.
