Abstract

Nutritional knowledge is knowledge about food and nutrients, sources of nutrients in food, food that is safe to consume so that it does not cause disease and how to process food properly so that the nutrients in food are not lost and how to live healthily. One of the factors that influences eating patterns is the level of nutritional knowledge. A person's level of nutritional knowledge influences eating behavior in choosing food which determines whether it is easy for a person to understand the benefits of the nutritional content of the food consumed. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between nutritional knowledge and instant noodle eating patterns among Papuan students at Halu Oleo University. This research uses quantitative research and the type of research is observational analytics with a cross sectional design. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a poor level of nutritional knowledge (75%), while only 25% of respondents had high nutritional knowledge. This shows that even though students are in a higher education environment, their knowledge about nutrition still needs to be improved. Most respondents (52%) consume instant noodles 2-3 times a week, with the main reasons being ease of preparation (65%) and affordable price (20%). This consumption is more dominant among students who live in boarding houses or dormitories compared to those who live with their families. It is hoped that this research will be useful for subjects to balance their eating patterns and have self-control because the majority of subjects have uncontrolled eating patterns due to living in boarding houses or dormitories so that their body health continues to be maintained. Apart from that, subjects can also pay more attention to nutritional balance in consuming food in order to achieve optimal nutritional status.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease especially coronary heart disease (CHD) and stroke, is the main cause of global death, with increased blood lipid levels as one of the risk factors. This research offers the potential of anthocyanin-rich berry supplements in reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels and improving blood lipid profiles through a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trial studies (RCTs). Data was collected from various databases and filtered based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Analysis shows that consumption of berry supplements containing anthocyanins can reduce LDL-C levels by 0.29 mmol/L compared to the control group, with a p value <0.05 and I2 = 79%, indicating that the variation between these studies is heterogeneous. These findings are in line with previous research which showed a 13.6% reduction in serum LDL-C levels in the group consuming anthocyanins. In the whortleberry exposure group, the results showed that of the two journal articles analyzed, the data points fell outside the confidence interval (CI), indicating there was no significant difference in the results of the studies. The use of anthocyanins on berries other than whortleberries showed a significant effect, while on whortleberries, the difference with or without anthocyanins was not significant. The results of this study emphasize the importance of consuming anthocyanin-rich berry supplements in improving blood lipid profiles and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, and support the development of anthocyanin-based nutritional supplements as an effective public health strategy.

Abstract

Kids who don't know much about teeth and mouth health have problems, so it's important to help them learn more through the right sources and methods. The point of this study was to find out how playing Monopoly affected the kids' understanding of teeth and mouth health at SDN Bangetayu Wetan 02. A quasi-experiment non-equivalent control group strategy was used for this quantitative study. The intervention was given to the intervention group through a game of Monopoly, and to the control group through PowerPoint. The Wilcoxon test (paired) and the Mann-Whitney test (unpaired) were used to look at the data. The study's participants were kids between the ages of 8 and 9, with 19 kids from each group chosen through Purposive Sampling. A knowledge quiz about teeth and mouth health was used as the tool. The results of the comparison of the two groups' traits showed that most of the respondents were girls and most of them were 9 years old. The intervention group had a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05) for paired bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test. This means that there was a significant difference between what they knew about teeth and mouth health before and after the intervention. On the other hand, there was no significant change in the control group, where the p-value was 0.665 (>0.05). The training and control groups both got a p-value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, on the Mann-Whitney test. There are differences between the two groups in how much they know about teeth and mouth health. It has been shown that learning about teeth and mouth health through monopoly games is more effective than learning through PowerPoint.
