Abstract

The Air and Water Police (Polairud Polri) is an integral part of the Indonesian National Police, tasked with providing protection, community services, and law enforcement. To support these duties, Polairud Polri must be perpetually prepared, both through human resources and key tools such as ships and aircraft. Polairud must anticipate threats and enhance operational capabilities, especially in water and air regions, to combat criminal acts in national and international waters. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the duties and functions of Polairud at Rokan Hilir Police Station, identify the obstacles faced, and provide recommendations to enhance Polairud's performance in the region. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Polairud members and document analysis related to Polairud's activities and operations in the Rokan Hilir region. The results indicate that Polairud's duties and functions at the Rokan Hilir Police Station are highly effective in addressing crime in the water area. However, several obstacles were identified, including unpredictable weather conditions, numerous undetected small ports and rivers, limitations in key supporting tools, personnel shortages, lack of maritime equipment and aircraft, and low legal awareness among the maritime community.  This study underscores the need for enhanced technology and key support tools for Polairud operations, increased personnel, and legal education for the maritime community. Enhanced synergy among stakeholders in the maritime sector is also essential to support comprehensive water area security.

Abstract

Advances in information technology have increased the number of crimes related to electronic transactions in Indonesia. Electronic evidence plays an important role in legal proceedings but often faces challenges in proving it. Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) establishes the legal framework for electronic evidence. This research aims to explore evidence of crime in information and electronic transactions according to the provisions of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE. This study uses a normative legal research method with a doctrinal approach. Secondary data are collected from relevant legal literature and analyzed to understand the application of legal doctrine related to electronic evidence. The results of the study show that electronic evidence such as electronic information, electronic documents, and printed documents are recognized as valid evidence based on Article 5 of the ITE Law. Proving criminal acts in the field of information and electronic transactions refers to Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) which includes witness testimony, expert testimony, letters, instructions, and statements of the defendant. This research has implications for the importance of electronic evidence recognition in the Indonesian criminal justice system to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement in the digital era. These findings can be a reference for legal practitioners and policymakers in improving legal procedures related to electronic evidence.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the complex role of nurses in nursing services that require periodic refreshments to maintain motivation in providing attentive services. In this context, SFIC (Sisters of the Franciscan of the Immaculate Conception) spiritual accompaniment is relevant because it can uplift, motivate, and remind nurses of the vocation and meaning of their profession. This study aims to determine the effect of SFIC spiritual assistance on nurses' work motivation and caring behavior in the inpatient unit. The research method used is Quasi-Experimental Control Group Pretest Posttest Design. Control and intervention groups were determined using total sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the Paired T-test and Independent T-test, with results showing significant differences between the intervention and control groups in nurses' work motivation and caring behavior after receiving SFIC spiritual assistance. The results showed significant differences between the intervention and control groups in work motivation (p = 0.001) and caring behavior of nurses (p = 0.0001) after receiving SFIC spiritual assistance. This is also supported by the ANCOVA test results, which show a significant effect of intervention methods on increasing nurses' work motivation and caring behavior after controlling for confounding variables. This study implies that spirituality can motivate and improve nurses' caring behavior when providing nursing services. As a suggestion, spiritual assistance can be used as one of the activities in the hospital training program to strengthen motivation and the quality of nurse services.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore and understand the legal arrangements related to criminal defamation through social media, which are reviewed based on Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE), as well as analyzing the application of the law against perpetrators of criminal defamation through social media. The research method used in this research is the normative juridical method, which refers to theoretical and normative legal analysis based on applicable laws and regulations. The discussion results show that the legal regulation of criminal defamation through social media has been regulated in Article 45 paragraph (3) of the ITE Law, which regulates criminal sanctions for perpetrators who intentionally and without the right to disseminate information or electronic documents containing insults or defamation. The application of the law related to criminal defamation on social media can also be seen in court decisions, for example, in the Decision of the Rokan Hilir District Court Number 649/PID.SUS/2019/PN-RHL. In the verdict, the Defendant was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment and a fine by the applicable provisions. The results of this study imply that ITE law provides a strong foundation for dealing with criminal defamation on social media. The application of the law has been proven through court decisions based on the provisions of the current law. This shows the importance of supervision and law enforcement against behavior that harms others through social media to prevent similar criminal acts in the future.
