The cause of the low understanding concepts and students' problem-solvingabilities in mathematics at SMP Negeri 1 Padang-ganting Tanah Datar is because themethods of teaching that is still centered on the teacher. The students were not involvedactively in teaching and learning process. One of the efforts done to overcome the aboveproblem is to use the inquiry method. The purpose of this researc is to determine: (1) Isthe high group problem-solving ability in the experimental class better than the highgroup problem solving in the control class. (2) Is the low group problem-solving abilityin the experimental class better than the low group problem solving in the control class.(3) Is the ability of understanding concept of the high group in the experiment class betterthan the understanding concept of high-class control group. (4) Is the ability of poorunderstanding concept on the experimental class better than the understanding concept oflow group on the control class.This research was conducted at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1Padang-ganting school year 2010/2011. The method was Quasi Experiment with thedesign of the Control Group posttest design. The experiment group was treated with theinquiry method of learning and the control group with normal learning. Data werecollected through the mathematic achievement test.The results showed that: (1) high group problem-solving skills in the experimentclass was better than the high group problem solving in the control class,(2) the low group problem-solving ability in the experiment class was better than the lowgroup problem solving in the control class, (3) the ability of understanding concept of thehigh group in the experiment class was better than the understanding concept of highclasscontrol group. (4) the ability of poor understanding concept on the experiment classwas better than the understanding concept of low group on the control class.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial setelah diterapkan metode pembelajaran actual learning pada peserta didik kelas VIII.1 SMP Negeri 36 Palembang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 36 Palembang. Adapun waktu penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2018 s.d April 2018 tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Subjek yang dimaksud dalam tindakan penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII.1 SMP Negeri 36 Palembang yang berjumlah 35 peserta didik. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil tes formatif, lembar observasi kegiatan belajar mengajar. Dari hasil analis didapatkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari sebelum tindakan dan sesudah tindakan, yaitu; pra siklus (51,43%), siklus I (65,71%), dan siklus II (88,57%). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah metode pembelajaran actual learning dapat meningkatakan hasil belajar peserta didik VIII.1 SMP Negeri 36 Palembang serta metode pembelajaran actual learning ini dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran IPS.

Students' abilities can be developed through lectures, one of which is variable Calculus 2. In order for the maximum tuition required of a material that can support course lectures. In West Sumatra, Padang PGRI STKIP students only rely on one textbook only when the lectures, so the motivation and low student interest in learning. Therefore it takes a lecture materials that can help facilitate students in the lecture, which is a modul. The purpose of this study is to develop a modul valid, practical and effective in subjects STKIP PGRI Calculus 2 in West Sumatra. This study is a research development. This modul was developed by using the 4D model (define, design, develop, and desseminate). Phase desseminate not done. The data was collected with the validation and testing of the modul. modul is validated by the lecturer and expert Calculus 2, as well as Indonesian lecturers. Tests carried out on mathematics education students STKIP PGRI West Sumatera to know praktikalitas and effectiveness of the modul. The results showed that: 1) modul is valid (including the content and construct validity) of the validator's point of view, 2) the use of modul in the lecture did not experience significant barriers. The book is a practical work according to students and lecturers; and 3) modul have been effective. This is evident from the activities of students and high motivation to learn after the lecture.

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh bahan ajar yang ada di MAN 1 Padang yang belum dapat membantu siswa dalam menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan. Oleh karena itu, di kembangkan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Pola Bilangan. yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan ploomp yang terdiri dari 3 fase yaitu tahap investigasi awal, tahap pembuatan prototipe dan assesment phase. Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) terdiri dari 5 tahap. Mengorientasikan siswa pada siswa, mengorganisasikan siswa untuk belajar, membimbing pengalaman individual/ kelompok, menyajikan hasil karya dan mnnganalisis hasil evaluasi. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berada pada kriteria valid dengan rata-rata 79%. Hasil analisis angket praktikalitas untuk guru sebesar 100% dan hasil analisis angket praktikalitas untuk siswa sebesar 87% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Hasil analisis belajar siswa pada tahap efektif sebesar 84,2 dengan kategori efektif. Keseimpulan penelitian ini menghasilkan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang valid, praktis dan efektif pada materi Pola Bilangan untuk siswa kelas XI IIS MAN 1 Padang.

The causing factors of the poverty of the fishermen in Purus village are (1) naturalfactors which is caused by the unsupportive natural condition used for business outsidethe beach, and the have physical limitation because of sick, so that they are not optimumin cultivating the available resources, (2) Cultural factors which indicates that almost allof the Purus village people are used to the lazy culture and the attitude of let-it-be, andunwilling of change their destiny to a better one because the education of the people inPurus village is under achieved, so that they only focus on fishing business, (3) structuralfactors indicates that Purus society do not have any effort to change their destiny, inwhich this is caused by complicated system policy of bureaucracy institution, such as theunavailability of better fishing tools.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap konsep pemahaman matematika siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 12 Padang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain penelitian studi kasus satu kelas. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA XI SMAN 12 Padang. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling. Sampel Pada penelitian ini adalah kelas IPA3. Instrumen tes akhir berupa soal uraian dengan reliabilitas tes r11 = 0,84. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t satu arah. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa t hitung> t tabel, sehingga H0 ditolak. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 12 Padang.AbstractThis study aimed to determine whether there was an effect of the implementation of discovery learning of learning model toward student mathematic understanding concept at class XI IPA SMAN 12 Padang. It was an experimental research using one-shot case study research design. Population was all students at Class XI IPA XI SMAN 12 Padang. Sampling technique was purposive sampling at Class XI IPA 3. The instrument was final test in the form of essays with the reliability of the test r11 = 0.84. The data analysis technique used one-tailed t test. The results of hypothesis testing show that t count > t table, so H0 is rejected. It is concluded that there is an influence of learning model of discovery learning toward student mathematic understanding concept at class XI IPA SMAN 12 Padango educate, teach, train, guide, and evaluate.

This article is a developmental research that aims to develop teaching materials based on the writing process in producing genre. In this study also estimated the validity of teaching materials developed. This research method was done in four stages; definition, design, development and dissemination. Definition was done to analyze the syllabus of Writin II. Design was done to analyze the need asse students and teachers. The result of the need analysis for both students and teachers indicated that they need writing teaching material which can lead them to pass the process of writing. Development results demonstrate the validity of the product contained in the category can be used with a slight improvement with a value of 75.4. It can be concluded that the product can be used as teaching materials to teach writing. Dissemination was done in limited trial.

Previous application of the repertory grid technique in exploring participants’ personal constructs has been noteworthy. However, this technique could be modified to suit the purposes of the research questions, the conditions of the participants and the context of the study. This paper presents personal constructs theory which underpins the repertory grid technique and it also proposes the ways to developa modified repertory grid instrument for eliciting teachers’ personal constructs. According to Kelly (1955), a seminal psychologist, individual forms their constructs based on their observations and experiences and these personal constructs are used to interpret events. To elicit participants’ personal constructs regarding the topic under study, the repertory grid instrument, which is developed based on Kelly’s Personal Construct Theory, could bemodified through interview trials. After conducting the interview trials, the resultsshould be analyzed to identify whether this instrument is effective not only for participants but also for the researchers. The modified repertory grid instrument should allow and support participants in formalizing and elaborating their personal constructs. For the researchers, the instrument should be helpful to identify the participants’ personal constructs based on their own conceptions and understandings toward the topic under study.

Pembelajaran IPS hendaknya disajikan semenarik mungkin agar peserta didik dapat memahami seluruh kajian yang terdapat pada pembelajaran IPS dengan mudah. Dengan demikian, maka perlu dihasilkan modul pembelajaran IPS berbasis multimedia interaktif untuk siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian pengembangan atau development research. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh rerata nilai validasi perangkat multimedia 3,40 kategori valid. Hasil uji coba praktikalitas diperoleh hasil respon peserta didik kelas IV selama pembelajaran sangat praktis dengan rata-rata 3,67 dalam kategori sangat sesuai. Hasil respon guru terhadap praktikalitas modul IPS dalam kategori praktis dengan rata-rata sebesar 3,38. Hasil pengamatan aktivitas peserta didik dalam satu kali kegiatan pembelajaran dalam kategori tinggi yakni dengan skor rata-rata perolehan sebesar 71,15. Hasil pengamatan aktivitas pada saat penyebaran (disseminate) menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas peserta didik termasuk dalam kategori tinggi dengan perolehan sebesar 68,33. Maka, dapat disimpulkan modul pembelajaran multimedia interaktif baik digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

The cause of students’ low achievement in mathematic in teaching learningprocess is because the teaching method is not varied. Thus, this research is aimed tofind out: Are students’ communication mathematic using cooperative learning-STAD better than those who use conventional strategy. The population was studentsof 2009A and 2009E of STKIP PGRI west Sumatera in 2010/2011 academic yearwho was taken simple differential equations and the sample was purposive samplingtechnique. The instrument was post test which was analyzed using U Mann-Whitneytest. The data analysis shows that: Students who use cooperative learning-STADhave better competence on mathematic communication than those who useconventional strategy.
