Abstract

The double burden of nutritional problems among schoolchildren in Indonesia—relected by soaring rates of stunting and obesity—poses new challenges to efforts aimed at improving community nutrition. In Parepare City, South Sulawesi, a clear nutrition transition is observed, with rising cases of obesity in the school environment. This community service activity was designed and implemented a school‐based empowerment program called “Sahabat Gizi” (Nutrition Friends) peer educators, aiming to strengthen obesity prevention through balanced nutrition education, environmental adjustments, and reinforcement of school policies. The program was carried out in three phases: preparation, training, and evaluation, involving teacher mentors and students who acted as agents of change. Pre‐ and post‐test results indicated signiicant improvements in participant knowledge and communication skills, while their attitudes remained relatively stable. The training effectively increased participants’ knowledge (87.5%) and communication skills (43.8%), while over 90% showed stable attitudes with no signiicant changes. Independent initiatives undertaken by peer educators reinforced understanding and honed nutrition communication skills effectively while fostering positive healthy behavior norms. Program indings suggest that the peer educator model applied in schools successfully increased students’ knowledge of balanced nutrition and contributed to obesity prevention. However, to ensure sustainability and strengthen positive attitudes, more intensive policy support is needed.

Abstract

Disasters in Tangerang City from 2019-2024 are very diverse, including floods, earthquakes, extreme weather, and landslides and others. Disasters cause losses in terms of infrastructure, loss of life, and other losses. At schools, students, teachers and school employees are at high risk of disaster. One form of disaster mitigation carried out in SMK Negeri 2 Tangerang city is the assembly of signs (equipment) supporting disaster evacuation. The assembly of disaster evacuation support signs aims to support disaster mitigation and reduce losses caused during disasters. (1) Background of the problem: Disaster mitigation at State Vocational School 2 is necessary due to the lack of proper disaster evacuation route signs at all locations. This is being achieved by installing evacuation signs. (2) Objectives: this study aims to examine the assembly of disaster evacuation signs for disaster mitigation and its benefits (advantages) in SMK Negeri 2 Tangerang City. (3) Methods: The method used is direct observation and collaborative method (4) Result : The design of disaster evacuation signs using standard provisions to support disaster mitigation. Assembly of disaster evacuation signs that have been carried out at SMK Negeri Negeri 2 Tangerang City for disaster mitigation include: 1) flat right evacuation route; 2) flat left evacuation route; 3) emergency exit; 4) right evacuation route down; 5) instructions/how to use light fire extinguishers (APAR); 6) evacuation route to the right (plank); 7) evacuation route to the left (plank); and 8) assembly point. The installation of evacuation signs has a positive impact on disaster preparedness and mitigation efforts for SMK Negeri 2 Kota Tangerang. (5) Conclusion : All disaster evacuation signs have been installed and provide many benefits for the academic community of SMK Negeri 2 Kota Tangerang.

Abstract

Customer satisfaction is crucial in a service, especially in the competency selection process based on the Computer Assisted Test (CAT). This selection process is integral to creating a professional and high-quality state bureaucracy. Background of the problem: Nevertheless, the extensive deployment of CAT in the public sector recruitment domain has frequently occurred without the concomitant execution of methodical assessments of participant satisfaction, especially in relation to service quality, system dependability, and uniformity among the various organizing entities;(2) Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the satisfaction of exam participants and related agencies regarding the implementation of CAT-based selection at UNS; (3) Methods: The evaluation used a questionnaire consisting of 19 closed and one open question. The questionnaire was distributed to respondents, namely exam participants and the Regional Civil Service Agency, with a total of 920 respondents. The questionnaire contained key determining factors such as system quality, information, and service; (4) Results: The best agency based on this questionnaire was the service for the Pati Regency Government with a score of 3.73, and the lowest was the Karanganyar Regency Government with a score of 3.38. The customer satisfaction measurement results generally gave a score of 3.54; (5) Conclusion: The implementation of this activity was carried out very well. This is evident from the questionnaire responses, which received excellent ratings and (6) Recommendations or follow-up: It is recommended that forthcoming implementations of CAT enhance the standardization of services, prepare for technical assistance, and conduct ongoing assessments of participant satisfaction to ensure a more uniform and participant-focused examination process.

Abstract

Bulangan Barat Village has durian assets distributed across nearly the entire village, making it as a potential leading commodity for community economic empowerment. The results of the 2024 PKM asset mapping indicate that while most residents own durian trees, productivity remains low due to limitations in maintenance techniques, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting practices. This program aims to enhance community capacity through an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach that optimizes local assets. The activities were conducted through two technical assistance sessions involving 15 participants, including training and socialization on the development of local durian commodities, as well as field assistance in Dusun Utara and Dusun Barat. These activities were followed by monitoring and evaluation. The results show that 2 out of 15 participants (13.3%) began applying more appropriate fertilization techniques, including installing fertilizer pipes to reduce flower drop in durian trees. In addition, one participant started diversifying crops by cultivating melon as an alternative commodity to durian. The community’s managerial capacity is demonstrated by initiatives to coordinate the certification process for local durian varieties and by the use of a WhatsApp group consisting of 16 members (1 expert, 3 facilitators, and 12 durian farmers) as a platform for information exchange and coordination in managing the durian commodity. As a follow-up, the program requires strengthened sustainability through periodic and structured ongoing assistance to increase the even adoption of technology. Future community service activities focus on continued support for the development and certification of local durian varieties to improve productivity, crop quality, and sustainably restore the prominence of local durian in Pegantenan District.
