Abstract

The character crisis in the younger generation is a serious challenge in Indonesian education. One strategic solution is to integrate local wisdom values in the curriculum, especially at the elementary school level, which is the main foundation of character building. This research aims to explore how local wisdom values can be effectively integrated in learning activities to strengthen students' character education. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach in one of the public elementary schools in East Java. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of lesson plan documents. The results showed that the integration of local wisdom values such as gotong royong, courtesy, and responsibility can be done through integrated thematic learning themes, extracurricular activities, and instilling values through folklore and regional cultural practices. Teachers play an important role in the process of internalizing these values, both through active learning methods and exemplary attitudes. The conclusion of this study states that the integration of local wisdom not only strengthens students' character, but also builds a strong cultural identity from an early age. Therefore, policy support and teacher training are needed to develop local culture-based learning materials on an ongoing basis.

The results show that good governance contributes to improving the quality of learning and creating a conducive environment. In the Islamic view, management not only emphasizes material aspects, but also spiritual values such as justice, trust, transparency and responsibility. The application of these principles is important to build an education system that not only educates intellectually, but also shapes the character and morals of students. Thus, optimal management supports the creation of holistic and sustainable education in facing global challenges.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to apply the teams games tournament (TGT) model in learning activities which is expected to be able to increase the motivation and learning outcomes of students in grades X-5 which are relatively low. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK). Using two cycles through four steps, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research in data collection uses observation, documentation, and test techniques. The results of this study show that before the action was taken, only 12 students achieved a score above 70 with an average of 60.2 and a completion percentage of 31.55% which shows a very poor category. However, after the implementation of the action in the first cycle, there were 19 students who achieved a score above 70 with an average of 68.8 and a completion percentage of 50% which increased by 19.5% compared to before. Furthermore, in the second cycle there were 33 students who achieved a score above 70 with an average of 83 and a completion percentage of 86.8%, which increased by 36% compared to the first cycle. In addition, students also become more motivated to be active during learning activities so that it also affects learning outcomes. Thus, the application of the TGT model has proven to be successful in increasing the motivation and learning outcomes of PAI class X-5 at SMA Negeri 1 Tambakboyo.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an important factor in supporting student success both academically and socially. Social literacy, as the ability to understand and respond to social dynamics in the surrounding environment, is believed to have a major contribution to the development of emotional intelligence. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of social literacy and emotional intelligence of high school students. The method used is quantitative correlational with a sample of 120 students from three high schools in Yogyakarta. The data collection instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire measuring two main variables: social literacy and emotional intelligence. The results of statistical analysis showed a significant positive correlation between social literacy and emotional intelligence (r = 0.63; p < 0.01). This finding confirms that students with high social literacy skills tend to have better empathy, emotional regulation, and social skills. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integrating character education and social literacy in the school curriculum as an effort to improve the quality of holistic and humanistic education.

Abstract

Inclusive education that takes into account the diversity of students in all aspects, including disability, social background and culture, has an important role in reducing social discrimination in schools. This study aims to explore how inclusive education can reduce social discrimination in the school environment. The method used was qualitative with a case study approach involving in-depth interviews with 20 teachers and 50 students in two inclusive schools in Bandung and Surabaya. The results show that the implementation of inclusive education helps create a more tolerant atmosphere where students from different backgrounds can respect each other and work together. Teachers trained in inclusive education also showed better ability in handling differences and creating activities that encourage positive interactions between students. However, the challenge is the lack of understanding among some students and parents about the importance of inclusive education. This study suggests strengthening training for teachers and raising awareness about inclusive education through more intensive socialisation programs in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze family education based on Islamic values as a process of internalizing ethical and spiritual values within Muslim families. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design, where data is collected through in-depth interviews with parents and children. Data validation is conducted using source triangulation to ensure the accuracy of the findings. The results reveal that the success of internalizing Islamic ethical and spiritual values within the family does not solely depend on formal religious education but also on the quality of emotional relationships, open communication, and parental role modeling. Children tend to absorb Islamic values more easily when they feel valued and involved in the value-building process. These findings challenge the assumption that verbal teachings or mere advice are sufficient to shape an Islamic character, emphasizing the importance of a more holistic approach that focuses on affection, real-life examples, and warm dialogue. This study contributes significantly to enriching the theory of family-based Islamic education by highlighting the importance of deep emotional connections in the process of value internalization.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of an empirical approach in learning aqidah based on Qur'anic stories as a strategy for internalizing values in adolescents. The background of this study is based on the urgent need to present contextual aqidah education, touching on the affective and spiritual aspects of students, and relevant to the challenges of today's adolescent life. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study involved five main informants consisting of teachers and students in an Islamic educational environment. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and then analyzed using a thematic approach. The results of the study indicate that an empirical approach in learning aqidah, which emphasizes direct experience, value reflection, and strengthening students' emotional involvement through Qur'anic stories, has proven effective in shaping character and increasing adolescent spiritual awareness. The forms of its application include dramatization of the prophet's story, social projects, environmental observation, value discussions, and self-reflection. The main supporting factors in the implementation of this approach include teacher creativity, student openness, institutional support, and the integration of Qur'anic values into school culture. The obstacles faced include time constraints, lack of teacher training, and the dominance of cognitive approaches in the curriculum. This study concludes that an empirical approach based on Qur'anic stories is a strategic alternative for down-to-earth and transformative aqidah education. The implications of this study recommend the development of a sustainable and collaborative learning model to support the formation of a generation of believers, morals, and Qur'anic insight.
