This research aims to (1) determine the potential of land in Putun Village, Nunkolo District; (2) knowing food security in Putun Village, Nunkolo District. This research method is quantitative correlational inferential statistics. The sample used in this research was 202 families. Data collection techniques are questionnaire observation and documentation. Data analysis used in this research is hypothesis testing, questionnaire scoring with the Gutman scale and food expenditure share. The results of this research show that Putun Village is 5.15 km, located at an altitude of 0.1 meters above sea level with characteristic types of rocky and swampy soil. Land Use in Putun Village explains that land in Putun Village with an area of 2.8 km: is used for agriculture, land in Putun Village with an area of 1.6 km: is used for settlement, and land in Putun Village with an area of 0.75 km: no used or abandoned. Land potential in Putun Village with very good quality land for agriculture. However, there are several areas that have poor land quality because the land used is rocky land. And based on the results of the share of food expenditure (PPP) ≤60%, it can be said that households in Putun Village are food secure households, testing the hypothesis that there is an influence of land potential towards food security where the significance value (sig.) of 0.01 is smaller than the probability of 0.05 so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an influence of land potential on food security.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of vulnerability of Yogyakarta City to the eruption of Mount Merapi by looking at four main factors: social, economic, physical, and environmental. The method used is secondary data analysis obtained from literature review and previous research, as well as the calculation of the vulnerability index based on BNPB Regulation No. 2 of 2012. The results of the study show that almost all sub-districts in Yogyakarta have high social vulnerability, influenced by low levels of education, limited access to information, and a high number of vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and low-income communities. Physical vulnerability is also quite high due to inadequate infrastructure and lack of evacuation routes. In terms of economy, most sub-districts show low to moderate vulnerability, although some areas are still dependent on certain sectors. Environmental aspects show low vulnerability, but long-term threats such as ecosystem damage due to volcanic ash still need to be considered. This study recommends mitigation measures in the form of strengthening social capacity, improving infrastructure, and diversifying the economy.

Abstract

This article uses the Haversine formula, a method of calculating the distance between two points that will be applied to the gravity model formula to show the strength of interaction between regions. In this article, the strength of inter-regional interaction that will be measured is the strength of interaction between Palembang City as the growth pole and Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, especially Kayuagung District as the hinterland of Palembang City. The purpose of this article is to combine the two theories above (Haversine formula and gravity model formula) on a real example and see the quantitative amount of interaction between the two regions, in this case the researcher took Palembang City and Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The measurement method used is a quantitative method by measuring the value of the Harvesine formula which will be substituted into the gravity model formula with the addition of other variables, namely the population of the two regions. The results of this measurement are expected to provide a clear picture of how strong the relationship between the growth pole and hinterland.
