Abstract

Smoking is a major risk factor for respiratory health problems. The harmful substances in cigarettes, such as nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide, can cause respiratory tract irritation, decreased lung function, and increased the risk of chronic respiratory diseases. This study aims to determine the relationship between smoking behavior and respiratory health problems. The study used an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 100 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a smoking behavior questionnaire and a respiratory complaints questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Chi- Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between smoking behavior and respiratory health problems (p < 0.05). It was concluded that smoking behavior is closely related to an increased risk of respiratory health problems.

Abstract

The Mother-Friendly approach is a midwifery service concept that emphasizes fulfilling the physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs of mothers during the labor process. This approach aims to create a safe, comfortable, dignified, and mother-centered labor experience. This study aims to describe the implementation of midwifery care for mothers giving birth using the Mother Friendly approach. The study used a descriptive design with a case study approach. The research subject was a mother giving birth in the first–fourth stage who received midwifery care using the Mother Friendly approach at Community Health Center X. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and SOAP documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Mother Friendly approach can increase comfort, reduce anxiety, and support a physiological labor process. It was concluded that the Mother Friendly approach is effectively implemented in midwifery care for mothers giving birth.

Abstract

Patient safety (patient Patient safety is a top priority in healthcare. One contributing factor to patient safety incidents is ineffective communication between healthcare workers. The SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) communication method was developed as a structured communication tool to improve the clarity and accuracy of clinical information. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SBAR communication in nursing practice and its impact on improving patient safety. safety. The study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 60 nurses working in the inpatient ward of Hospital X, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using an SBAR implementation questionnaire and a patient safety incident observation sheet. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately using the Chi- Square test. The results showed that good SBAR communication implementation was significantly associated with increased patient safety (p < 0.05). It was concluded that SBAR communication is effective in supporting safe and quality nursing practices.

Abstract

Continuity of The Continuity of Care (CoC) is a continuous approach to midwifery care, encompassing pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn care, and family planning services. This approach positions midwives as the primary providers of continuous care, thus improving service quality, maternal satisfaction, and reducing the risk of maternal and neonatal complications. This study aims to determine the application of Continuity of Care (CoC). of Care in midwifery care. The study used a descriptive analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 40 mothers who received continuous midwifery care, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation sheets and questionnaires. The results showed that most mothers received midwifery care with good implementation of CoC, especially in the aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. It was concluded that the implementation of CoC in midwifery care plays an important role in improving the quality of midwifery services and the experience of mothers during the reproductive period.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem characterized by a toddler's length or height being below the standard for their age. This condition reflects long-term malnutrition and impacts physical growth, cognitive development, and future productivity. Indonesia remains a country with a high prevalence of stunting, requiring epidemiological analysis to understand its incidence patterns and risk factors. This study aims to analyze the incidence of stunting in toddlers based on aspects of person, place, and time, as well as related factors. The study used an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 100 toddlers selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements and questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods using the Chi- Square test. The results showed that the prevalence of stunting remains high and is related to factors such as toddler age, maternal education, maternal nutritional status, and feeding patterns. It was concluded that the incidence of stunting is influenced by various multidimensional factors, requiring sustainable cross-sectoral interventions.

Abstract

Maternal mortality remains a serious public health problem, especially in developing countries. The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is an important indicator in assessing the level of public health and the quality of maternal health services. An epidemiological approach is used to identify risk factors contributing to maternal mortality through an analysis of people, place, and time. This article aims to examine the risk factors for maternal mortality based on an epidemiological approach. The method used is a literature review of epidemiology textbooks, national health reports, and scientific journals. The results of the study indicate that risk factors for maternal mortality include biological, behavioral, socioeconomic, access to health services, and health care system factors. It is concluded that preventing maternal mortality requires a comprehensive and cross-sectoral approach.

Abstract

The safety of premature and high-risk infants in the perinatology ward is a top priority in neonatal health care. The use of incubators as a thermoregulation aid and environmental protection plays a crucial role in maintaining the infant's physiological stability. However, improper use of incubators can lead to risks such as hyperthermia, hypothermia, infection, and respiratory distress. This study aims to analyze the safety aspects of infants in incubator care in the perinatology ward. The study used a descriptive analytical design with an observational approach. The study sample consisted of 50 infants treated using incubators. Data were collected through observation of care procedures, monitoring of physiological parameters, and evaluation of health workers' compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The results showed that the majority of incubator care met standards, but several safety risks were still found related to temperature regulation and sterilization procedures. It was concluded that the implementation of SOPs and strict monitoring significantly influenced the safety of infants in incubator care.
