Abstract

ABSTRACT Infertility is a reproductive health problem that impacts the biological, psychological, and social aspects of couples of childbearing age (PUS). Various factors such as age, body mass index (BMI), history of infection, hormonal disorders, and lifestyle are suspected to play a role in the occurrence of infertility. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for infertility in couples of childbearing age using a multivariate approach. The study used a case-control design with a sample of 120 respondents (60 infertility cases and 60 fertile controls). Data were collected through structured interviews and medical record reviews. Analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression to determine the dominant risk factors. The results showed that the wife's age ≥35 years (OR=3.8; p=0.002), a history of reproductive tract infections (OR=4.5; p=0.001), an abnormal BMI (OR=2.9; p=0.010), and the husband's smoking habit (OR=3.2; p=0.005) were significant risk factors for infertility. The dominant factor was a history of reproductive tract infections. It is concluded that infertility is multifactorial and requires a comprehensive approach in its prevention and treatment. Abstract

ABSTRACT Postural balance is the body's ability to maintain a stable position while still or moving. Balance disorders increase the risk of falls, especially in adults and the elderly . Exercise is a non-pharmacological intervention aimed at improving postural control through proprioceptive training and muscle strengthening. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of balance exercises. The effect of exercise on improving postural balance . The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest - posttest approach. with control group . The sample consisted of 40 respondents divided into intervention (n=20) and control (n=20) groups. The exercises were carried out for 4 weeks (3 times/week). Balance was measured using the Berg Balance Scale (BBS). The results showed a significant increase in BBS scores in the intervention group compared to the control (p < 0.001). It was concluded that balance Effective exercise significantly improves postural balance. Keywords: Balance Exercise , Postural Balance , Fall Risk, Proprioceptive Training

Abstract

ABSTRACT Pain is a physiological and psychological response often experienced by patients due to trauma, inflammation, or medical procedures. Non-pharmacological therapies such as ice compresses (cold therapy) are widely used as simple interventions to reduce pain. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of cold therapy in reducing pain intensity in patients. The study used a quasi-independent design. experiment with a pretest – posttest approach without control group . A sample of 40 patients with complaints of mild to moderate acute pain was selected using purposive sampling. Pain intensity was measured using Numeric Rating Pain Scale (NRS) before and after applying ice compresses for 15 minutes. Data analysis used a paired t- test . The results showed a significant decrease in pain scores from 6.2 ± 1.1 to 3.4 ± 1.0 (p < 0.001). It was concluded that cold therapy is effective in reducing pain intensity and can be used as a supporting intervention in pain management.
