Abstract

Healthcare facilities have the potential to be reservoirs for various pathogenic microorganisms that can cause nosocomial infections. The presence of microorganisms on the surfaces of medical devices, treatment rooms, and ambient air can increase the risk of disease transmission to patients and healthcare workers. This study aims to identify and characterize pathogenic microorganisms found in healthcare environments. The study used a descriptive laboratory design with an observational approach. Samples were taken from treatment table surfaces, door handles, medical devices, and room air using swab and air sedimentation methods. Identification was carried out through culture examination, Gram staining, and biochemical tests. The results showed the presence of pathogenic bacterial isolates such as Staphylococcus aureus. aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Some isolates showed resistance to certain antibiotics. It was concluded that healthcare environments have the potential to be a source of infection transmission, necessitating strict infection monitoring and control.

Abstract

Anxiety is a psychological problem often experienced by pregnant women, especially in the final trimester, and can negatively impact the health of both the mother and the fetus. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be used to reduce anxiety is the finger relaxation technique. This study aimed to determine the effect of the finger relaxation technique on anxiety levels in pregnant women. The study used a quasi-independent design. experiment with a pretest – posttest approach without control the study sample consisted of 40 pregnant women selected using purposive sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using an anxiety questionnaire before and after the finger relaxation technique intervention. Data analysis was performed using a paired t - test. The results showed a significant decrease in anxiety levels in pregnant women after the finger relaxation technique (p < 0.05). It was concluded that the finger relaxation technique is effective in reducing anxiety levels in pregnant women and can be used as an alternative nursing and midwifery intervention.

Abstract

Clinical nutrition care is an integral part of healthcare services that plays a crucial role in supporting the patient's healing process. Disease conditions, metabolic stress, and inadequate nutritional intake can slow recovery and increase the risk of complications. This study aims to examine the role of clinical nutrition care in supporting the healing process of patients in healthcare facilities. The study used a descriptive-analytical study design with an observational approach. The study sample consisted of 80 inpatients receiving clinical nutrition care. Data were collected through medical record reviews, nutritional status observations, and monitoring of patient clinical outcomes. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and simple analytical methods. The results showed that patients receiving standardized clinical nutrition care experienced improved nutritional status, increased endurance, and accelerated healing. It was concluded that clinical nutrition care plays a significant role in supporting the success of medical therapy and patient recovery.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death and morbidity worldwide, including in Indonesia. NCD risk factors such as smoking, unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, and excessive alcohol consumption are strongly influenced by individual behavior. Health promotion is an important strategy in efforts to control NCD risk factors by improving public knowledge, attitudes, and behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of health promotion on controlling NCD risk factors. The study used an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 150 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a health promotion questionnaire and a NCD risk factor questionnaire, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test and odds ratio analysis. The results showed that health promotion had a significant effect on controlling NCD risk factors (p < 0.05). It was concluded that intensive and sustainable health promotion plays an important role in controlling NCD risk factors.

Abstract

Environmental sanitation is an important factor in maintaining public health and preventing the occurrence of environmentally related diseases. Poor sanitation can be a medium for transmitting various diseases, such as diarrhea, skin diseases, and respiratory infections. This study aims to determine the relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of environmentally related diseases. The study used an observational analytical design with a cross - sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 120 heads of families selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and environmental sanitation observation sheets, then analyzed using the Chi- Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of environmentally related diseases (p < 0.05). It was concluded that poor environmental sanitation increases the risk of environmentally related diseases. Efforts to improve environmental sanitation and provide ongoing public health education are needed.

Abstract

Premature infants are at high risk of experiencing physiological instability due to organ immaturity, especially in the regulation of body temperature, respiration, and the cardiovascular system. One of the main interventions in the care of premature infants is the use of an incubator. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of incubator use on the physiological stability of premature infants. The research method used was a quantitative study with an analytical observational design. The subjects were premature infants treated in the perinatology ward. The physiological parameters observed included body temperature, respiratory rate, and heart rate. The results showed that the use of an incubator significantly helped maintain the physiological stability of premature infants. Thus, an incubator is an effective and essential tool in the care of premature infants to improve physiological stability and prevent further complications.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hand hygiene is one of the most effective interventions in preventing the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms in healthcare facilities. The hands of healthcare workers can transmit microorganisms that cause nosocomial infections if standard hand hygiene practices are not followed. This study aimed to analyze the role of hand hygiene in reducing microbial contamination. The study used a quasi-independent design. This study used a pretest - posttest approach . The study sample consisted of 40 healthcare workers who underwent hand swab tests before and after hand hygiene measures according to WHO standards. Microorganism identification was performed through culture and Gram staining. The results showed a significant decrease in the number of microorganism colonies after hand hygiene (p < 0.05). It was concluded that hand hygiene plays an important role in reducing microorganism contamination and supporting the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. Abstract

ABSTRACT Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) is a form of natural resource utilization that plays a role in public health promotion and prevention efforts. Utilization of TOGA can increase family independence in maintaining health and reduce dependence on synthetic drugs for minor complaints. This study aims to analyze the level of TOGA utilization and its impact on improving family health. The study used a descriptive analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 60 heads of families who have TOGA plants in region X. Data were collected through questionnaires and direct observation. The results showed that 75% of respondents utilized TOGA for minor complaints such as coughs, fevers, and digestive disorders. Utilization of TOGA is associated with increased healthy living behavior and decreased use of chemical drugs for minor complaints (p < 0.05). It is concluded that TOGA plays an important role in supporting efforts to improve family health. Keywords: Toga, Family Medicinal Plants, Public Health, Preventive Promotion
