Abstract

Previous research on households of new immigrant spouses in Taiwan has mainly focused on family upbringing and individual social adaptation. Studies such as Chen (2010), Liu et al. (2015), Chen et al. (2016), Wu & Tsai (2017), and Chen & Lin (2019) have highlighted the challenges and adaptations faced by new immigrant households under conditions of cultural differences and economic disadvantage. However, the crucial issue of housing remains underexplored. Moreover, existing housing policies and real estate market studies rarely reflect the real experiences of immigrant groups, especially the influence and agency of female immigrant spouses in household asset decisions. As Taiwan's demographic structure changes, new immigrants have become a significant group in housing demand, with Vietnamese spouses being the largest subgroup. This study aims to explore the motivations, information sources, cultural identities, and practical challenges of Vietnamese spouse households when purchasing homes. The findings contribute to filling the research gap and provide essential references for the design of multilingual and multicultural housing policies. This study focuses on Tainan City and adopts a qualitative research approach through in-depth interviews with eight Vietnamese spouses aged between 30 and 50 who have already purchased homes. The interviews covered their home-buying experiences, family role divisions, information acquisition methods, cultural values, and housing expectations. Thematic analysis was used to derive decision-making patterns and influencing factors in their home purchase behavior. Results show that home-buying motivations are closely linked to their Taiwanese spouses, primarily driven by the need for residential stability, children's education, and long-term settlement. Most prefer townhouses with spacious and multi-functional interiors. Although some new immigrants have basic knowledge of the real estate market, most still rely on their spouses or family for support, indicating limited access to market and policy information. Culturally, traditional Vietnamese family values and religious beliefs continue to influence housing decisions and spatial use.

Abstract

In today’s business environment, companies face expectations and pressures from various stakeholders, with employees being the most important. Attracting employees and establishing interaction with them is a key factor in creating a competitive advantage for the business. Employee engagement with the company is typically influenced by their attitudes and feelings toward the organization. Employees' pride in the company will stem from their positive perceptions of the business and its achievements. As a result, they will put more effort into contributing to the business and demonstrate greater loyalty to the company. In today’s Taiwan, the post-pandemic era and the trend of declining birth rates have put significant pressure on companies that focus on human resource services. As a result, employee organizational citizenship behavior and job performance have become increasingly important topics for businesses. This study aims to explore the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and employee job performance, and further examine the mediating role of job satisfaction in this relationship. As a voluntary behavior that goes beyond job responsibilities, OCB has a profound impact on organizational operations, while employee job performance is an important indicator of employee contributions. Previous studies have primarily focused on the direct relationship between OCB and employee job performance. However, job satisfaction, as a potential mediating variable, has not been sufficiently explored. This study uses a questionnaire survey method to collect data from employees in various service industries and employs SPSS statistical analysis to examine the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between OCB and employee job performance. The results show that OCB has a positive impact on employee job performance, with job satisfaction playing an important mediating role. Specifically, when employees exhibit higher levels of OCB at work, it enhances their job satisfaction, which in turn boosts their job performance. The results of this study not only enrich the theoretical foundation between OCB and employee job performance, but also highlight the importance of job satisfaction in this relationship, providing practical recommendations for businesses in human resource management. Future research could further explore other potential mediating variables, as well as the differences in OCB and employee job performance across different cultural contexts.

Abstract

Succession to maintain a family company faces obstacles due to conflicts of interest among family members. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors that influence internal conflicts in family business management in several enterprises in Jabodetabek. As a governance mechanism of family business management, two independent variables, namely emotional intelligence and perceived compliance with the code of ethics, are placed to identify this conflict. This study used convenience sampling involving 125 business owners as respondents. The businesses are small and medium-sized in food and beverage, fashion, beauty, and construction industries. The results of structural regression processing show that emotional intelligence has no significant effect on internal conflict, while the perceived compliance with the code of ethics has a positive and significant effect at the 5 percent level on internal conflict. Specifically, there is a controversy that the formation of perceptions of compliance with the code of ethics has the effect of triggering potential internal conflicts. The formation of opportunistic behavior tends to influence decision making so that the perception of compliance can trigger internal conflict. This effect needs to be considered by family business owners and managers to anticipate the possibility of conflict between family members.

Abstract

Rapid shifts in employment conditions make sustaining employee commitment difficult, particularly for Generation Z, whose distinctive values and high expectations sometimes coincide with perceptions of limited readiness. This paper examines the links between motivation, workload, and workplace conditions and organizational commitment among Gen Z workers in the Jabodetabek area. A questionnaire-based quantitative study of 150 respondents (aged 17–27 with work experience) was estimated using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The estimates show that motivation, workload, and the work environment each display positive, statistically meaningful associations with organizational commitment. The evidence offers practical direction for aligning HR practices with Gen Z preferences to strengthen loyalty and curb turnover.

Abstract

Current notions of business resilience often reduce it to “business as usual,” with little regard for long-term implications. This study reinterprets resilience by surveying 400 SME owners in Palembang, Indonesia, using a PLS-SEM model to trace how Green Organizational Identity (GOI) drives Green Innovation Capability (GIC) via Green Creativity (GC). Results confirm that GC mediates the effect of GOI on GIC. Although green creativity is central to building SMEs’ green innovation capability, we also acknowledge possible external influences. Practically, firms should cultivate an internal culture of green values that stimulates creativity. Creative adoption of green practices can heighten social awareness and accelerate the shift to a sustainable economy. We therefore define resilience as “creativity within resilience”: a steadfast commitment to strengthening organizational identity so that innovation capability grows through the conduit of creativity.

Abstract

Investment is a core driver of economic development through the generation of growth, job opportunities, and access to technology. This phenomenon may not be true in many developing countries, including Indonesia; in reality, actual investment realization often falls short of policy targets, thus creating a gap between potential and realized outcomes. Whereas most macro-analyses of the investment climate have concentrated on the external determinants such as regulations, macro-analyses view the investment climate in terms of external factors such as infrastructure and tax incentives, and how these influence overall attractiveness for foreign investment; one less explored area is in understanding the psychological processes by which these external policies get translated into investors' decisions. This paper aims to construct a theoretical framework that delineates the factors determining investment in Indonesia using theory-building techniques. The Information Systems (IS) Success Model by DeLone and McLean was adapted and reconceptualized in the investment context through a dual mediation mechanism: investor satisfaction and investor trust. The proposed model established that four external factors—law and regulation, land, labor, and taxation were not directly related to investment decisions but instead acted through investor perceptions. Satisfaction reflected short-term evaluations of current experiences, whereas trust represented long-term confidence in the system's stability and reliability. The fundamental theoretical contribution of this study is an integrative framework clarifying the pathway from policy inputs to psychological responses to investments. This conceptual model is intended to be validated through future empirical studies, utilizing survey-based research and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

Abstract

The Hallyu phenomenon which entered Indonesia through K-Dramas has positioned product placement as an important marketing communication strategy to influence brand awareness and consumer purchasing decisions. This study aims to analyze product placement strategies in the ten highest-rated K-Dramas of 2022 using quantitative content analysis approach. The analysis focuses on six main components: brand, placement type, character involvement, on-screen position, placement disclosure, and placement context. Data were collected from 122 episodes and analyzed to identify patterns of product placement. The findings indicate that product placements in 2022 K-Dramas generally emphasize products related to daily needs, visually presented through the involvement of main characters and integrated into the storyline without disclosure. Korean brands appeared more frequently than non-Korean brands in most dramas. In addition, product placements tend to appear in neutral contexts, with female characters more often associated with food and beverage as well as media and entertainment products, while male characters are more commonly linked to automotive products. These findings contribute academically to understanding product placement practices in the Korean entertainment industry and offer practical insights for the Indonesian entertainment sector in adopting similar strategies.

Abstract

This article presents a structured narrative review of consumer behavior in property purchasing in Indonesia by analyzing 36 scholarly articles selected through a rigorous, multi-stage screening process. Using clear inclusion and exclusion criteria, the review integrates four main theoretical frameworks—namely the Theory of Planned Behavior, Prospect Theory, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and the Consumer Decision-Making Model—to explain the psychological, social, and economic dynamics influencing property purchase decisions in Indonesia. The findings indicate that attitudes, perceived behavioral control, risk aversion, income stability, and shifting lifestyle aspirations are dominant factors, accompanied by contextual influences such as the use of digital channels, sustainability preferences, and changing housing needs in the post-pandemic era. Prospect Theory helps explain the strong tendency toward loss aversion among Indonesian property buyers, while Maslow’s theory highlights the shift in needs from mere shelter to comfort, security, and social status. This review identifies a critical gap in the dominance of single-theory approaches in previous studies, emphasizing the need for a more comprehensive multi-theoretical model to better understand the complexity of Indonesia’s property market behavior. The article offers insights for policymakers, developers, and practitioners in formulating strategies that are more responsive to evolving consumer behavior in Indonesia’s dynamic property sector.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate how auditor independence, audit task complexity, and deadline pressures affect the quality of auditing work within Public Accounting Firms operating across the Banten area. The methodology adopts a quantitative framework utilizing convenience sampling techniques, gathering primary information via Likert-scale questionnaire instruments. Statistical analysis involves multiple linear regression conducted through SmartPLS 4 software, incorporating responses from 52 audit professionals representing 6 accounting firms. Findings indicate that solely auditor independence demonstrates a meaningful impact on auditing quality, while complexity levels and time constraints fail to show statistically significant effects on audit outcomes.
