Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Mandarin Chinese, or more commonly known as Modern Chinese, is one of the worlds’ many languages. It is the main official language of the People’s Republic of China, and it is also one of the most anticipated languages across the world. In year 2020, the Mandarin language is the second most spoken language in the world at 1.12 billion speakers (Caplan, 2020). To facilitate the growing use of Mandarin in workplace, more and more private schools are teaching Mandarin as a second language. This leads to a need to assess the expertise of the speakers, which leads to the creation of certain Chinese proficiency test such as Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK). To support HSK test takers, the author intends to provide a new kind of media to help the test takers expand their vocabulary. With the help of Flutter and Firebase Cloud Firestore, the result is an e-learning mobile application, served as a hangman game. Survey results shows people are interested in the application and believed that it can help the players expand their vocabularies.

Abstract

Due to major contributions of the tourism industry towards the economy a country, it is important to ensure that Malaysia is able to continuously attract visitors to the country. This paper aims to look into the tourists perceived risk namely their perception on financial risk, physical risk, socio-psychological risk and time risk in Malaysia and their desire and intention to revisit Malaysia in the future. The results of this study have shown that the tourists who have visited Malaysia have intention to revisit the country despite their a slightly high perception of risks in Malaysia. Financial risk that has shown statistical significance influence towards the revisit desire. Such results may be useful for those in the industry to prepare in attracting tourists to visit Malaysia once the travel bans are lifted and international borders are re-open

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze free cash flow, agency cost, and earning management influence against share return. The research object is firm that listing in Indonesia stock exchange in period 2015 to 2019, by using purposive sampling method. The results of this study, free cash flow and agency cost generated insignificant effect result on share return, and earning management is the independent variable that generated significant positive effect result on share return. This research will provide empirical data that good corporate governance doesn’t have significant effect toward share return.

Abstract

This day and age, there are many people who spend more. A lot of money for fast food compared to buying a vehicle, Books, laptops, clothes and more. There are a lot of fast food restaurants. Popping up everywhere and the more the times are growing in support it with fast food restaurant facilities that are very helpful and facilitate bookings such as for example people can do booking via mobile phone there can be a direct phone to order or You can also go through applications such as gofood, grabfood and others. As you can see, especially in Batam, Indonesia. There's been a lot once a fast food restaurant that enters Batam that is no stranger to the people in Batam. Like, KFC (Kentucy Fried Chicken), McDonald's, A&W, Rechesse and Burger King. With so many fast food restaurants. in this batam city, so there are also various types of services that can be given to his customers. This study was conducted to analyze the factors that affect Costumer Loyalty to Fast Food Restaurants in Batam City. The dependent variable is Costumer Loyalty while independent variables consist of, Service, Qualtiy, Brand Image and Price that affect the intervening variable is trust.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan sebuah collaborative knowledge management system untuk komunitas pecinta batik. Dalam perancangan aplikasi ini, penulis menggunakan framework untuk PHP yaitu Laravel serta penggunaan Bootstrap dan CSS sebagai frontend untuk menyelesaikan aplikasi ini. Penelitian ini menghasilkan media collaborative knowledge bagi komunitas pecinta batik untuk membuat, berbagi, dan mengakses informasi. Penulis juga menggunakan MySQL sebagai media penyimpanan data dari website. Aplikasi berbasis web ini dapat mempermudah pada pecinta batik di seluruh Indonesia untuk saling berbagi informasi guna memperkenalkan batik-batik yang ada di seluruh Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the management component working capital to profitability that can be measured with ROA and ROE. Components in the form of firm size, liquidity, leverage, cash conversion cycle, and inventory turnover. The research object is a manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This quantitative research takes data from the financial statements for the period 2015 to 2019. The data is tested using the panel data regression method through SPSs 25 and eviews 11. The method used is purposive. sampling, the sample meets the requirements of 144 companies or 720 observational data. The results showed that firm size, liquidity, leverage, cash conversion cycle had a significant effect on ROA but inventory turnover had no significant effect on ROA. Leverage has a significant effect on ROE but firm size, liquidity, cash conversion cycle, inventory turnover has no significant effect on ROE.

Abstract

Although numerous researches about the importance of research and development (R & D) for sustainable economic development have been carried out among ASEAN countries, it is challenging to say with certainty that what level of interest is being put on R&D expenditures and sustainable economic development among these countries. The objective of this study is to conduct the systematic review of R & D expenditures and sustainable economic development in ASEAN countries with theoretical and empirical review of the previous studies. This paper grouped previous studies considering economic development based on their results in Four (4) stages i.e. 1) review of previous literature, 2) comparison of growth theories and, 3) developing a concept in light of previous models and at last, 4) the conclusive note related to R&D and economic development among ASEAN countries. Total 163 research articles were considered containing the terms economic development or economic growth and after applying a systematic review process, 14 papers considered as final sample specific to the objective of this study related to economic development among ASEAN countries. The review has shown that most of economist found that previous studies were lack of R&D expenditures in the economic development among ASEAN region countries. This study fills theoretical and empirical gap in the field of R&D-lead economic development among ASEAN and provides a meta-theoretical insight in the concept of sustainable economic development with respect to R&D expenditures.

Abstract

Tujuan dari Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui, mengkaji, dan menganalisis dampak kerusakan lingkungan hidup serta bentuk tanggung jawab oleh PT. Usaha Jaya Karya Makmur menurut UU No 32 Tahun 2009 Tentang Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the board of directors structure and ownership structure to corporate social responsibility disclosure in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2015-2019 and examine the association of corporate political relations with the level of corporate social responsibility disclosure to determine how the relationship between the state and the corporate sector affects CSR engagement. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between board of directors structure, ownership structure, corporate political connections to the level of corporate social responsibility disclosure. This research empirically shows that managers, investors, political members and other stakeholders will not influence the corporate social responsibility disclosure in the annual report

Abstract

Production scheduling in manufacturing companies is one of the important components in the survival of the company. Potential errors caused by manual production scheduling can have a negative impact in the form of material, time, and financial losses. To provide a solution to this problem, a heuristic search approach is used, a search based on the rules used to find a solution. The heuristic search method used is a genetic algorithm. This research will design and develop a system that aims to overcome the problems caused by manual scheduling by implementing genetic algorithms. The parameters used in the scheduling are the crossover probability value, the mutation probability value, the maximum number of generations, and the maximum number of errors. This research was conducted with a case study of PT. XYZ, which is engaged in manufacturing packaging products from paper, still uses manual scheduling by sorting jobs with the closest due date. With 36 job operations and 10 machines, the best results were obtained, namely the total time for the completion of the work was 22 working days with the program execution time being 4.75357099983215 seconds. These results are obtained with a crossover probability parameter of 0.8, a mutation probability of 0.7, a maximum number of 500 generations, and a maximum number of errors of 10.
