Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Universitas Internasional Batam’s students who have interests in Japanese cultures facilitated by the existence of J-Club (Japanese Club). In J-Club, students sometimes gather to learn about Japanese language together. In this case, me as a researcher wants to do research about whether Japanese M-Learning can be accepted by J-Club members as their Japanese Learning media. This research is a qualitative study with Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This research is done by interview and questionnaire. The result of this research is Japanese language M-Learning apparently can’t be fully well accepted. And the conclusion is that with TAM we can acknowledge that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use variables take a big part of users’ satisfaction.

Abstract

Senggarang Island is a small village in the city of Tanjung Pinang which is inhabited by residents with a majority ethnic Chinese. Senggarang is known as a place where the gods gather. On this island there are various tourist objects, such as temples, and statues that are unique and have their own charm. However, there are still many people who do not know the beauty of natural tourism on Senggarang Island. The purpose of this study is to promote and introduce several tourist attractions on Senggarang Island by using photobooks as an introduction medium. This photobook contains a collection of information about tourist attractions such as a description of the place, the facilities available, and the atmosphere around Senggarang Island. In the process of designing the photobook, the application used by the author is Adobe Lightroom to edit photos and Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 to design the photobook. Data collection methods used in this activity are observation, image documentation, and interviews. The result of the implementation of this research is a printed photobook with a size of 20x20cm which contains an introduction to Senggarang Island. With the design of this photobook, it is hoped that it can increase visitors and increase public knowledge about Senggarang Island.

Abstract

The very rapid development of technology in today's virtual world provides a separate space for creative people to produce copyrighted works in various expressions, including parody video works. The development of the virtual world is getting easier, and the development of platforms in cyberspace such as Youtube, Instagram, Facebook and so on can make someone easily share their experiences or stories on these platforms, one can also take advantage of these media to be used as a means of showing his creations which are the result of his personal creative thinking so that it can be enjoyed by the general public. Design and development of parody bollywood videos - Hollywood films using the R&D (Research and Development) research method used to develop parody videos to produce parody works that can be seen by the general public. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze free cash flow, agency cost, and earning management influence against share return. The research object is firm that listing in Indonesia stock exchange in period 2015 to 2019, by using purposive sampling method. The results of this study, free cash flow and agency cost generated insignificant effect result on share return, and earning management is the independent variable that generated significant positive effect result on share return. This research will provide empirical data that good corporate governance doesn’t have significant effect toward share return.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh antara variabel leverage, intensitas aset tetap, komisaris independen, ukuran dewan komisaris, komite audit, kualitas audit, umur perusahaan, profitability, dan ukuran perusahaan terhadap tax avoidance pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2015-2019. Teknik pemilihan data menggunakan purposive sampling. Sebanyak 264 perusahaan atau 1320 data dijadikan sampel penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan variabel intensitas aset tetap, independen komisaris, komite audit memiliki pengaruh signifikan negatif terhadap tax avoidance. Kualitas audit berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap tax avoidance. Selain itu, variabel lainnya tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap tax avoidance.

Abstract

The environment is something that needs to be considered by companies in carrying out their business activities. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect environmental disclosure in Indonesia in terms of sustainability reports published by companies. The study used 43 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange as the object of research for the period 2015-2019. The results of this study explain that listing age and independent audit have a significant positive effect on environmental disclosure, profitability and leverage do not have a significant effect on environmental disclosure, while company size has a significant negative effect on environmental disclosure.

Abstract

The Institute for Courses and Training is a non-formal education that provides various special training to educate students' skills. However, there are things that often become obstacles for prospective students, namely being confused about choosing courses according to their preferences. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design an online course application with a recommendation system for the Content-based Filtering method. In addition, this research also applies the cosine similarity algorithm to determine courses that are similar to the course history that has been accessed by the user. The dataset used to run the recommendation system algorithm was taken from the Kaggle website entitled “Udemy Course” with a total of 3,682 records. The final result of this research is an online course application that can provide course recommendations based on the highest similarity value from the cosine similarity algorithm.

Abstract

Technology development has been rapidly growing, which has been affecting on traditional education system. Starting on March 2020, government decided to assign all education system to be done in online in order to prevent the spread of covid-19 virus. As an attempt to enforce this online learning system, author builds an education game that grant students to improve their knowledge in primary grade mathematics. Through this game, students will be encountering a set of arithmetic operations in mathematics up to 3rd grade level. This game will be build in Unity and C# programming language by using SDLC Waterfall method.

Abstract

This study investigates whether CEO busyness have an impact on company performance, and if this relationship is moderated by female CEOs by analyzing all company sectors apart from finance, insurance, and property that are included in the Kompas 100 index listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the 2017-2020 period. Our findings have shown that the presence of a busy CEO will cause a decrease in company performance. In addition, we also found that negative relationship is stronger in companies whose CEOs are female. For firms and shareholders, our findings indicate that it is not a good idea for CEOs to hold more than one outside directorships, especially those who occupy the position of CEO are female. Our results suggest that restrictions on CEO busyness would be beneficial to shareholders.
