Abstract

This research reveals how to improve reading of ‘the yellow book’ through the sorogan method for village students at Islamic Boarding School Wali Songo Pleret, Bantul and what are the factors and obstacles in the application of the sorogan method to improve reading of ‘the yellow book’ of village students in the pesantren. This research is a qualitative descriptive research, while the data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that the ustaz's efforts in improving the ability to read ‘the yellow book’ for village students by applying the sorogan method were considered very effective. This is based on the main purpose of the sorogan method, namely improving reading quality, understanding content, and being able to reveal the content of reading. Not only that, the increase can also be seen from the many supporting factors and the lack of inhibiting factors.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the teachings of the Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah in the Education System at the Al-Madani Islamic Boarding School, Semarang City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The results of the study explain that the education and teaching system in the Al-Madani Islamic Boarding School in Semarang City is a classical, non-classical system, students are obliged to live in Islamic boarding schools, and all students are required to implement the teachings of the Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyyah Tarekat. However, the tarekat teachings that are applied to the santri are not implemented as strictly as the procedures imposed by the tarekat followers who have officially taken bai'at. But here the students are more of the practitioners of the Qadiriyyah wa Nasyabandiyyah tarekat.

Abstract

The environment is an important part of human life. However, the current reality shows that human awareness of their responsibility as khalifah fil ardh has disappeared. So religious values are needed that can regenerate environmental awareness in the community. Moreover, it can integrate the teachings of monotheism, Sufism, and fiqh so that a holistic-integral environmental concept emerges. In this case, pesantren as one of the Islamic educational institutions has an important role in inculcating environmental-based Islamic values. The cultivation of these values ??is an effort to foster ecological piety both within the scope of the pesantren community and the wider community. This study aims to explore more deeply the urgency of Islamic education in the formation of ecological piety in Islamic boarding schools. This study uses a literature review method by using a number of studies by previous researchers as the main data source. The results show that ecological piety or awareness of environmental care can be realized through the implementation of ecologically based Islamic educational values in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the theory of double movement in Islamic education IT Nusantara. The findings show that IT has a great advantage, namely that it can rule the world if used in a positive way. Knowledge can be obtained quickly, all information is universally accepted in an instant when using IT. The advantages of IT in Islamic education in the archipelago will make it easier for teachers and students in the learning process, but it needs supervision from teachers to students so that students are not trapped in the misuse of IT in education. Teachers should close sites that make students lazy to study. IT in the Al-Quran has been explained that Allah. has given instructions to humans to use their minds to develop the sophistication of today's technology.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how Islamic boarding schools were used as a solution to overcoming social media maniacs and games for students at Pondok Pesantren An-Nur Bantul Yogyakarta. This research method used a descriptive approach. The data used include primary and secondary data. The research results showed that Islamic boarding schools were not just places to seek knowledge. But on the other hand, this pesantren also educated its students in matters of ethics, etiquette and manners. With various efforts and approaches, this pesantren had proven to be able to break up children who became addicted to gadgets, especially social media and games. The An-Nur Islamic Boarding School in Bantul Yogyakarta also faced various problems or challenges. The state of the world was increasingly advanced and developing if students did not follow it, makes it lack external knowledge, were less capable in terms of technology, lack confidence, and some even did not want to follow technological developments. Therefore, these pesantren needed direction and guidance from various related parties so that these problems could be resolved.

Abstract

This type of research is field research with a descriptive qualitative model, which uses a phenomenological approach to religion. The purpose of this study was to find out some of the fundamental differences between Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) culture and Muhammadiyah culture in the month of Ramadan and find out what the impressions of female students with Muhammadiyah backgrounds are in Islamic boarding schools with NU backgrounds. This study used an in-depth interview method with informants, namely several female students with Muhammadiyah backgrounds at the Darul Abror Islamic Boarding School. The formulation of the problem raised in this study is about the differences felt during the month of Ramadan at the Darul Abror Islamic Boarding School and regarding the impressions felt while they were there. The results of the study showed that there were some fundamental differences that were felt by the female students starting from the start of their fast, the number of cycles of tarawih prayer, the answers to the Bilal reading, and the use of the qunut prayer in the witr prayer which began on the 16th night of Ramadan.

Abstract

Looking at the progress of time, there have been many changes in both learning and teaching aspects, starting from government policies that constantly change in terms of curricula to the policies regarding the national examination system. This applies to both public and private schools, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), universities, and so on. However, educational institutions will not deviate from what has been set by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Religious Affairs. These policies continue to serve as guidelines in the implementation of the educational system. Educational institutions in Indonesia are not only limited to formal schools and universities but also encompass pesantren, whose existence contributes to the diversity of the educational system in Indonesia. Abstract

Bathing Balimau is a communal bathing tradition carried out by all layers of the Semurup-Kerinci society every five to six years on the riverbank. The Bathing Balimau conducted during the Sko Celebration tradition in Semurup differs from Bathing Balimau in other areas due to its significance. Within this Bathing Balimau tradition are several elements whose meanings and functions are not yet understood. Therefore, this research aims to uncover the essence of the Bathing Balimau tradition in Semurup. Symbolic interactionism theory is employed in this study. Through the symbolic aspect, the elements within the Bathing Balimau tradition are examined to uncover its essence. One of these elements is the location of the Bathing Balimau process, which is carried out on the riverbank, holding its meaning and influencing the essence of the Bathing Balimau tradition. The importance of this tradition lies in its role as a means of purifying oneself, both externally and internally, as well as a form of social interaction.

Abstract

This research aimed to present the dynamics of the Sekaten tradition in Yogyakarta from the perspective of millennial students at Darul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School, Wal Irsyad, Wonosari, Gunungkidul. This research method was descriptive-qualitative research. Data collection was taken from observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results showed that many millennial generation students in Darul Qur'an Wal Ersyad know the sekaten tradition, but did not know it the basics. It was because they were not originally from Yogyakarta and had never participated in celebrating the Sekaten tradition since childhood. The history of the sekaten tradition was carried out to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, so every year this tradition continued to be held in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

This article reviews the biography of KH. Asjhari Mu'thi is a prominent religious teacher and figure in Tuban Regency, East Java. KH. Asjhari has an interesting experience with the Quran and its relevance to his community in Tuban, which is currently undergoing industrialization. Influenced by his firm and strict teaching style of the Quran, alongside his Islamic preaching negotiations with the materialistic tendencies of the Kerek-Tuban community, he has developed a unique personal disposition. This article will explore how this uniqueness emerged and its impact on the learning methods practised by KH. Asjhari.
