Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are an important part of the digital transformation of healthcare services, aimed at improving efficiency, service quality, and patient safety. The implementation of EMR in healthcare facilities continues to evolve; however, in practice, various obstacles remain, both technical and related to user acceptance. Therefore, an analysis of user perceptions is required to determine the level of acceptance of the EMR system in healthcare services. This study aims to analyse the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at the Outpatient Installation of Poso Regional General Hospital based on perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, and behavioural intention to use. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. The informants in this study totalled six people, consisting of doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmaceutical staff, admission officers, and the head of the outpatient installation. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that, in terms of ease of use, EMR is generally easy to use in service delivery, although there are still technical obstacles, such as network issues and initial system understanding. From a usefulness perspective, EMR helps improve service efficiency, accelerates data access, and supports service quality. From the aspect of behavioural intention, healthcare workers show a tendency to continue using EMR and are willing to recommend its use, although improvements to the system and infrastructure are still needed. This study concludes that the implementation of EMR at the Outpatient Installation of Poso Regional General Hospital has provided ease of use and benefits in service delivery and is supported by healthcare workers’ intention to use it; however, strengthening of technical aspects and the system is still required to support more optimal use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze risk factors associated with the incidence of Drug-Sensitive Pulmonary Tuberculosis in the Panyabungan Jae Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area, Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency. This study was conducted quantitatively with a case-control design. This study included 50 TB patients as cases and 50 non-patients as controls selected using simple random sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression. The results showed that education level, room ventilation, and room lighting were significantly associated with the incidence of Drug-Sensitive Pulmonary TB. Meanwhile, age, gender, smoking status, history of diabetes mellitus, and residential density did not show a significant association. Room lighting was the dominant factor in the incidence of Drug-Sensitive Pulmonary TB. TB transmission is likely due to close contact; poor room lighting increases the probability of contracting Drug-Sensitive TB. Education for TB patients is needed regarding the increased risk of transmission due to poor environmental conditions.

Abstract

Background: Gross motor development in six-month-old infants is strongly influenced by nutritional adequacy during early life. Exclusive breastfeeding provides complete nutrition including DHA, AA, enzymes, and antibodies that support neuromuscular development. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and gross motor development in six-month-old infants at Manyar Primary Health Center, Gresik Regency. Methods: This study employed an observational quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Purposive sampling was used to recruit 30 mothers with six-month-old infants. Data were collected using a breastfeeding status questionnaire and the Pre-Screening Developmental Questionnaire (KPSP) appropriate for six months of age. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test. Results: Of 30 infants, 23 (76.7%) received exclusive breastfeeding and 23 (76.7%) achieved appropriate gross motor development. Among exclusively breastfed infants, 91.3% demonstrated appropriate KPSP scores, compared to only 28.6% among non-exclusively breastfed infants. Statistical analysis revealed a significant association between exclusive breastfeeding and gross motor development (Fisher's exact p = 0.003; Odds Ratio = 26.25). Conclusion: Exclusive breastfeeding is significantly associated with appropriate gross motor development in six-month-old infants. Healthcare providers should strengthen breastfeeding education and early developmental stimulation programs to optimize infant growth outcomes.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an important indicator of the quality of healthcare services, particularly among participants of Indonesia's National Health Insurance (BPJS Health). This study aimed to analyze the effect of hospital service management functions planning, organizing, implementation, and controlling—on outpatient satisfaction among BPJS Health participants at Amri Tambunan Regional General Hospital. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 100 respondents selected using an accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using multiple logistic regression. The results showed that all four hospital service management functions had a significant effect on outpatient satisfaction (p < 0.05). Among these variables, service implementation was identified as the most dominant factor influencing patient satisfaction, with an Odds Ratio (OR) of 445.949. This finding indicates that service delivery characterized by adherence to procedures, promptness, responsiveness, and effective communication plays a crucial role in improving patient satisfaction. The study concludes that effective hospital service management, supported by well-organized planning, coordination, implementation, and supervision, is essential for enhancing the quality of outpatient services. Therefore, strengthening the implementation and organizational aspects of hospital service management should be prioritized to improve patient satisfaction among BPJS Health participants at Amri Tambunan Regional General Hospital.
