Abstract

This research was conducted at PT Mitra Agung Sejati. The purpose of this study is to analyze the layout of dangerous and toxic goods (B3) warehouses using the 5s method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) at PT Mitra Agung Sejati. The research methodology used in this study is qualitative research method. The results of the study explained that this B3 storage area has not met the 5S principle, namely the absence of sorting, neat and clean arrangement for hazardous and toxic materials and labeling goods. The actual layout of this company is not organized, making operators uncomfortable in picking and storing hazardous and toxic materials to be used or quantities to be stored. However, after being researched and proposed using the 5S method, activities in the warehouse will be more organized and operators will find it easier to pick up goods and store goods such as labeling and making markings for the location of goods and laying work tools and marking for forklift parking. Through the application of this 5S method, the physical condition of the work environment at PT. Mitra Agung Sejati is more neatly organized and affects the comfort of workers.

Abstract

This research is based on the lack of implementation of a method in controlling the inventory of soybean raw materials at Haji Maman’s Tofu Factory in the Matraman District of East Jakarta. Haji Maman’s Tofu Factory stil relies on daily records and sometimes uses estimates or assumption in its operational activities. In the procurement of raw materials, there is often an excess due to the lack of precise calculations regarding the ordering needs of raw materials, resulting in accumulation in the warehouse. In this study, the researcher utilized the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, which determines the optimal quantity of raw material orders for each purchase, the optimal purchase frequency, and establishes the Re-Order Point. The approach and type of research used is a quantitative research method with a descriptive research approach. The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of the EOQ method in controlling the inventory of soybean raw materials at Haji Maman’s Tofu Factory in the Matraman District of East Jakarta. Data Collection was conducted through observation and interviews with Mr. Haji Maman, the owner. The data analysis technique employed was the EOQ method, taking into account purchase frequency, Re-Order Point, and Total Inventory Cost (TIC). The results of this study indicate that the optimal average frequency of raw material orders is 17 times per year. The total inventory cont using Haji Maman’s Tofu Factory policy amounts to Rp. 9,709,261, while using the EOQ method it amounts to Rp. 7,492,129, resulting in savings of Rp. 2,217,132 for Haji Maman’s Tofu Factory. The Re-Order Point is determined to be 216 kilograms.

Abstract

The inventory control system comprises a set of control policies to determine the level of inventory to be maintained, when orders to replenish inventory should be placed, and how large orders should be. This system determines and ensures the availability of inventory in the right quantity and at the right time. The aim of inventory is in the right quantity and at the right time. Inventory management aims to provide the necessary raw materials for the production process to run smoothly without shortages or excess inventory, thus minimizing inventory control of raw materials, specifically Titanium Dioxide and Calcium Carbonate. The company often faces shortages and excess inventory of these raw materials. The company must estimate the future demand for Titanium Dioxide and Calcium Carbonate raw materials. This prompts the research question of how to analyze the implementation of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method for inventory control of these specific raw materials at PT. ICI Paints Indonesia. This research employs qualitative techniques and analyzes data using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, Lead Time, Re-Order Point, and Total Inventory Cost Order. The results of this study indicate that inventory control of raw materials using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method is more efficient for managing Titanium Dioxide and Calcium Carbonate raw materials at PT. ICI Paints Indonesia. The company can optimize the inventory of Titanium Dioxide and Calcium Carbonate raw materials and reduce purchasing costs. By establishing a reorder point, the company can anticipate excess or shortage of Titanium Dioxide and Calcium Carbonate raw materials, thus minimizing inventory-purchasing costs.
