Abstract

The Strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5) is one of the policies in the Merdeka Curriculum aimed at reinforcing students’ character in line with Pancasila values through project-based learning. This study aims to identify and describe the evaluation of the P5 program implementation at SMP Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature studies. Data were analyzed qualitatively using the Kirkpatrick evaluation model (Reaction, Learning, Behavior, Results). The results of the study show that in the Reaction aspect, students felt happy and enthusiastic about participating in P5, although some found independent learning challenging. In the Learning aspect, there was an increase in knowledge and skills, especially on themes such as local wisdom and entrepreneurship, although intensive guidance was still needed. In the Behavior aspect, values such as cooperation, environmental awareness, and anti-bullying began to be practiced, although behavioral changes were gradual and required continuous reinforcement. In the Results aspect, the program was considered effective in strengthening students’ character in line with the Pancasila Student Profile, but faced challenges such as limited facilities, uneven teacher understanding of P5 methods, and time allocation affecting academic learning. Therefore, continuous evaluation and improvement strategies are needed to ensure the Merdeka Curriculum’s objectives through the P5 Project are optimally achieved.

Abstract

Student discipline problems such as tardiness, lack of learning readiness, and low compliance with school rules are still common in secondary education. This study examines the role of sociology teachers as motivators in optimizing the discipline of 10th-grade students at MA Darul Huda Wonodadi Blitar, focusing on three aspects: 1. The role of teachers as motivators, 2. Challenges faced, 3. The impact on student discipline. A qualitative approach with a case study type was used, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation with the principal, sociology teachers, guidance counselors, and students. Data analysis used Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, with triangulation and member checks to test the validity of the data. The findings show that sociology teachers apply motivational strategies through 1. Personal approach, 2. Communicative, 3. Advice, 4. Role model, 5. Positive reinforcement. This strategy successfully shifts the orientation of student compliance from fear of punishment to awareness of internal responsibility. The challenges faced include low student learning motivation, 1. Internal student factors, 2. Smartphone misuse, 3. Social environment. The impact of the role of motivators is seen in 1. Transformation of compliance, 2. Increased activity, 3. Improvement of ethics and manners. This study provides a theoretical contribution by showing that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation strategies, not just rule enforcement, can shape sustainable student discipline.

Abstract

This research is based on the by the low learning activity, students tend to be passive during the learning process and students are not used to thinking more deeply, the ability to understand and respond to questions is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of the Self-Regulated Learning model on learning activity and critical thinking skills of VIII students of SMPN 1 Sumbergempol. This study uses a quantitativ approch with a quasi-experimental type with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a learning activity questionnaire and a critical thinking ability test. Data analysis used prerequisite tests, namely normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing, namely using Independent Sample T-Tests and MANOVA tests. The results of the study showed that the application of the Self-Regulated Learning model did not have a significant effect on learning activity, but had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills. The implication of this study is that the Self-Regulated Learning model can be used as an alternative learning strategy to improve students' critical thinking skills and still needs to be adjusted to student characteristics, and can be combined with other learning strategies for more optimal implementation.

Abstract

The development of social media and popular culture has influenced how society interprets Beauty. Beauty standards are no longer purely subjective, but have become a social construction that tends to be homogeneous and shaped by media and capitalist interests. In this context, Beauty is understood not only as an aesthetic attribute, but also as a form of symbolic capital that holds social value and can influence an individual’s position in society. This study aims to analyze how Beauty standards function as symbolic capital and how the processes of construction and internalization occur within social life. The method used is a qualitative approach with a literature review of five scientific journals discussing Beauty, body commodification, and power relations. The findings show that Beauty standards are constructed by media and continuously reproduced in everyday practices. Beauty functions as symbolic capital that provides social advantages through the phenomenon of Beauty privilege. In addition, these standards are internalized within individuals’ habitus and contribute to the reproduction of social inequality in society.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of bullying on students' self-confidence at State Elementary School 002 Palembang using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Bullying in the school environment, whether in verbal, physical, or social forms, has the potential to negatively affect students’ psychological well-being, particularly their level of self-confidence. The subjects of this study consisted of students and teachers selected through purposive sampling techniques to ensure relevance to the research objectives. Data collection was carried out through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation to obtain comprehensive and valid information. The data were then analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to identify patterns and relationships. The findings reveal that students who experience bullying tend to have low self-confidence. This condition is reflected in their lack of courage to speak in front of others, a tendency to withdraw from social interactions, and hesitation in expressing opinions or participating in class activities. These impacts not only affect academic performance but also hinder students’ social development. Therefore, it is essential for schools to take preventive and responsive actions by creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ confidence and emotional well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies employed by teachers to enhance students’ learning interest through the implementation of Game-Based Learning. Innovation in the learning process is essential to create a classroom environment that is enjoyable, interactive, and capable of increasing student engagement. Therefore, a game-based approach was applied as a learning strategy to provide students with a more attractive and meaningful learning experience. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and students as research participants. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the implementation of Game-Based Learning significantly improved students’ interest in learning. This was evidenced by increased enthusiasm, active participation, and engagement during classroom activities. Furthermore, the method had a positive impact on students’ psychological well-being by reducing learning boredom and stress. The enjoyable, relaxed, and challenging learning experiences encouraged students to become more motivated in participating in educational activities. Therefore, Game-Based Learning can serve as an effective alternative strategy for enhancing students’ learning interest and improving the overall quality of the teaching and learning process in schools.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum was introduced as an effort to improve the quality of education in Indonesia by providing flexibility for teachers in developing more contextual and student-centered learning methods. This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at SDN 101766 Bandar Setia, especially in thematic learning. The research method used is qualitative with in-depth interview techniques to one of the teachers at the school. The results showed that some of the main challenges faced include teachers' limited understanding of the optimal implementation of thematic learning, difficulties in adjusting materials to the diverse characteristics of students, and the lack of support from parents in providing learning tools and materials. In addition, limited facilities and infrastructure in schools are also an obstacle in creating a learning environment conducive to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study concludes that although the Merdeka Curriculum gives teachers and students more freedom in the learning process, the challenges in its implementation still need to be overcome.
