Abstract

Employee productivity is a key factor in determining organizational success and is influenced by various internal and workplace-related factors. This study aims to analyze the effects of job satisfaction, work discipline, communication, and the work environment on the work productivity of employees at Setyo Mulyo Group. This research employed a quantitative approach with a population of 71 employees of Setyo Mulyo Group. A total of 67 respondents were selected using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS Statistics 26. The results indicate that job satisfaction, work discipline, communication, and the work environment simultaneously and partially have a positive and significant effect on employee work productivity. These four independent variables explain 55.6% of the variation in employee productivity, while the remaining 44.4% is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. The findings suggest that improving job satisfaction, strengthening work discipline, promoting effective communication, and fostering a supportive work environment are essential to enhancing employee productivity. Therefore, organizations should implement sustainable human resource management policies that focus on employee well-being, organizational communication, compliance with work procedures, and the creation of a positive work environment. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for company management and future researchers in developing strategies to improve employee productivity.

Abstract

This study addresses the marketing challenges faced by “Risol Jiya,” a micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) in Langkat Regency, which has not yet optimized a website as its primary marketing channel, resulting in limited market reach and low brand recognition. To address this problem, this study designs a website-based information system for optimizing UMKM product marketing using the Waterfall development method, covering requirements analysis, system design (use case, activity, and sequence diagrams), implementation using PHP and a MySQL database, black-box testing, and system maintenance. Testing success is measured using a validated test-case percentage formula, while marketing effectiveness is evaluated using a before-after growth percentage formula adapted from prior digital marketing studies. The resulting system provides a home page that functions as a digital storefront, a testimonial dashboard, contact and address information, and a product ordering page that operates according to the intended requirements. The findings show that the system successfully supports the marketing process and can help the UMKM increase market reach, product visibility, customer interaction, and its overall competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Law Number 5 of 1960 concerning the Basic Agrarian Principles in the acquisition of regional government-owned land and to examine its conformity with the principle of due process of law in Laju Village, Langgudu District, Bima Regency. The acquisition of government-owned land must be carried out in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations while ensuring the protection of community rights through procedures that are fair, transparent, and accountable. This research employed an empirical legal approach using both statutory and socio-legal approaches. Primary data were obtained through interviews with the Head of Laju Village, the Head of Langgudu District, officials of the National Land Agency (BPN) of Bima Regency, and affected community members. Secondary data were collected through a literature review of laws and regulations, books, scientific journals, and other relevant documents. All data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The findings indicate that the implementation of land acquisition in Laju Village has not been carried out optimally. Several obstacles were identified, including weak inter-agency coordination, a lack of transparency, limited public participation, and inadequate land administration. From the perspective of due process of law, the implementation has not fully fulfilled the principles of legality, legal certainty, transparency, public participation, and the protection of community rights. Therefore, strengthening supervisory mechanisms, improving inter-agency coordination, and implementing more transparent, accountable, and rights-oriented procedures are essential to ensuring legal certainty in every process of regional government-owned land acquisition.

Abstract

Corruption in Indonesia is classified as an extraordinary crime due to its systemic destructive impact. The enactment of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (National Criminal Code) has brought about fundamental changes that raise the potential for regulatory overlap with Law No. 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law No. 20 of 2001 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes (Anti-Corruption Law). The introduction of this new codification has raised public concerns regarding a potential weakening of the deterrent effect due to a reduction in the minimum mandatory prison sentences. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of criminal sanction policies for perpetrators of corruption offenses from the perspective of the National Criminal Code and to examine their relationship with the Anti-Corruption Law in order to achieve regulatory harmonization. The research method employed is normative legal research with a qualitative analytical approach through a literature review. The approaches applied include the statutory approach and the conceptual approach. The primary legal sources analyzed are based on the text of the National Criminal Code and the Corruption Eradication Act, while secondary legal sources were obtained from relevant legal literature and scholarly journals. The results of the study show that the enactment of the National Criminal Code has given rise to a new paradigm of criminal punishment, shifting from a retributive-punitive (retribution) approach toward an integrative-utilitarian one that emphasizes proportional justice and restoration. Viewed through the lens of the legal relationship between the principles of lex posterior derogat legi priori and lex specialis derogat legi generali, this regulatory dualism does not result in a conflict of norms (legal antinomy), but rather a harmonious interplay of complementary regulations. The National Criminal Code serves to unify substantive criminal law through the restructuring of prison sentences, reform of the fine classification system, expansion of the concept of asset forfeiture, and the repositioning of the death penalty with a probationary period. Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Law remains in effect as an instrument of special procedural law (formal criminal law). The reduction of specific minimum penalties in the National Criminal Code is viewed as a step toward legal rationalization aimed at minimizing disparities in judicial rulings and optimizing the recovery of state assets in a humane manner.

Abstract

Social media has become a central arena for political communication, participation, and the formation of digital public opinion, while social media influencers increasingly operate as political intermediaries. This study maps the development, intellectual structure, and thematic direction of research on social media and political participation. A bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review were conducted using 107 unique Scopus records published between 2020 and July 2026. All records were used for performance and science-mapping analysis, while 80 English-language journal articles and reviews formed the qualitative synthesis corpus. The dataset comprised 95 publication sources, 239 authors, 44 countries, and 1,001 citations. Publication output increased from five documents in 2020 to 35 in 2025, indicating rapid consolidation of the field. Keyword co-occurrence analysis produced 27 interconnected terms, 70 links, and three major clusters: social media, elections, and informational risks; political influencers, platforms, and democracy; and youth political participation, efficacy, and digital activism. The literature consistently identifies influencers as accessible opinion leaders who can stimulate political interest and online engagement, but evidence on sustained offline participation remains conditional. Recent research increasingly focuses on TikTok, Generation Z, artificial intelligence, misinformation correction, and regulatory accountability. The study concludes that future research should prioritize longitudinal and experimental designs, comparative Global South settings, platform algorithms, political disclosure rules, and the distinction between passive exposure, expressive engagement, and durable civic participation.

Abstract

Fried-chicken fast-food outlets are a promising segment of the food industry because they align closely with the preferences of many Indonesian consumers. Their rapid proliferation has created intense business competition. This study examined the effectiveness of managerial leadership in implementing total quality management (TQM) and its contribution to the success of Ali Chicken, a fried-chicken fast-food brand operated by CV. Berkah Sultan Ali. An empirical descriptive design combining qualitative and quantitative approaches was used. The qualitative analysis employed a radar chart based on gap-analysis data obtained from employee and business-partner assessments. The quantitative analysis used a statistical approach with SPSS version 2.3. Data were collected through individual in-depth interviews with 109 purposively selected respondents comprising management, outlet staff, and loyal customers. The leadership-performance predictors included competence, capability, integrity, intuition, and accountability. All predictor variables had positive values, indicating that the leadership strategy at CV. Berkah Sultan Ali was functioning effectively. The empirical findings also indicated strong customer loyalty, as reflected in regular visits and a monthly customer occupancy rate of at least 87%.

Abstract

Boarding houses are expanding rapidly in many cities in response to lifestyle changes and the growing need for practical accommodation among economically active groups. Their residents generally include employees, students, and self-employed individuals who rent rooms based on diverse considerations. This study analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of boarding-house operations in Malang City in relation to residents' service satisfaction. A descriptive design combining qualitative and quantitative approaches was employed. Data were obtained by converting information weights from survey results and structured interviews with 136 purposively selected respondents known to the researchers. All respondents were male boarding-house residents in Malang City. The effectiveness predictors were ambience, room condition, security, and garage availability, whereas the efficiency predictors were accessibility, electricity, water, and internet access (Wi-Fi). The qualitative analysis used a gap-analysis (shift-share) approach combined with an Ishikawa diagram, while the quantitative analysis used SPSS to estimate a regression model. The findings indicate that security was the residents' primary consideration regarding effectiveness, while accessibility was their primary consideration regarding efficiency.

Abstract

The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which intensified following the escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict on 7 October 2023, has increased investors' attention to companies alleged to have affiliations with Israel, including Starbucks. This study aims to analyze the effect of the boycott movement on Starbucks stock trading volume while controlling for lagged stock trading volume and market return. The study uses daily data for one year before and one year after the boycott movement, covering the period from 7 October 2022 to 7 October 2024, with a total of 502 observations. The analysis employs multiple linear regression. Before model estimation, descriptive analysis and a stationarity test using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test were conducted. Initial estimation was performed using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), followed by diagnostic tests. Because the OLS model indicated heteroskedasticity and autocorrelation, the final estimation employed the Newey-West Heteroskedasticity and Autocorrelation Consistent (HAC) method to obtain robust standard errors. The results show that the boycott movement has a positive and significant effect on Starbucks stock trading volume. In addition, lagged stock trading volume also has a positive and significant effect, indicating persistence in stock trading activity. By contrast, market return, proxied by the daily return of the NASDAQ index, has no significant effect on Starbucks stock trading volume. These findings indicate that, during the study period, Starbucks stock trading activity was influenced more by company-specific factors associated with the boycott movement than by general market conditions. This study provides empirical evidence that non-financial events arising from geopolitical dynamics can influence investor behavior by increasing stock trading activity.
