Abstract

Universities that have testing/experimental laboratories use chemicals and biology to support student competence and support the implementation of lecturer research which is one of the places that has a high enough risk of danger. Laboratory management such as chemical storage rooms should be managed based on the basic elements of laboratory management, namely planning, arrangement, administration, maintenance, security and supervision. so as to avoid the danger of poisoning, corrosive, skin irritation, fire, explosion which can pose a bad risk to health and the work environment. The aim of this research is to know the risks of chemical storage rooms with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation which are analyzed using the Miles and Liberman model. The results showed the dangers of chemical storage rooms in the form of exposure to organic solvents, exposure to acidic liquids, irritants which are at risk of dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, irritation, material damage and fire. With the potential coming from a lack of user knowledge, the absence of SOPs and MSDS and a lack of discipline in implementing PPE.

Abstract

Indonesia's status as the world's fourth most populous country underscores the importance of its contribution to global food security. However, this important role comes with a series of challenges that are exacerbated by changing climate dynamics, decreasing arable land, and the inherent inefficiencies of traditional farming techniques. Balancing the need to increase productivity with the imperative to preserve the environment is a formidable challenge that necessitates a paradigm shift in agricultural practices. However, these benefits are accompanied by barriers such as knowledge gaps, financial constraints, and infrastructure limitations, which need to be effectively addressed to utilise the full potential of these technologies. This research underscores the need for a holistic and context-sensitive approach. Effective knowledge dissemination, customised financing mechanisms, improved infrastructure, and supportive policy frameworks are essential to foster the adoption and implementation of innovative practices. In addition, the research highlights the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders, including farmers, policymakers, researchers and industry players, to collectively address challenges and capitalise on opportunities. The implications of this research extend beyond the borders of Indonesia. The findings provide insights that resonate with other developing countries facing similar challenges in agricultural transformation. By bridging knowledge gaps, promoting equitable access to technology, and fostering an enabling policy environment, countries can unlock the potential of the agrotechnology revolution to meet global food needs while maintaining the ecological balance of our planet. As the world grapples with the challenges of food security in an era of climate change, this research contributes valuable knowledge to build a more sustainable and resilient future for agriculture and humanity.

Abstract

This research investigated the impact of nature exposure on mental health and wellbeing in West Bandung Regency, Indonesia, a region characterized by diverse natural landscapes. A mixed-method approach combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews was employed to gather data from residents of various communities in the region. The quantitative findings indicated that more frequent nature exposure was associated with lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. The qualitative insights revealed that nature exposure provided a sense of relaxation, tranquility, and rejuvenation, enhancing emotional well-being. The study underscores the restorative effects of nature and the importance of integrating green spaces into urban planning to promote mental health in rapidly developing regions like West Bandung Regency.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to uncover how accounting practices related to social and environmental aspects in the Bakaru hydropower plant are carried out. The informants in this study consisted of employees and local communities around the company. They have a good understanding of the issues under study. Data is collected through observation and recording of documentation in various situations in the field. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative approach using the theory of critical communicative action from Jürgen Habermas. This approach is used to examine the real practice of social and environmental accounting. The results showed that the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program at the Bakaru hydropower plant is in line with the view of how natural relationships should be carried out, in accordance with the concept of truth proposed by Jurgen Habermas. That is, companies are responsible for the impact of their operations, and this is based on the expectations of various interested parties. The company has also achieved a level of compliance in this regard, by implementing CSR through disclosure to the public. However, there is a problem in the budget allocation for CSR programs every year, because the implementation of these programs does not run effectively. In this case, the Bakaru hydropower plant does not fully meet claims of authenticity or honesty, and most of the programs carried out are still assistance and do not have a focus on sustainability in terms of reporting, prevention, and maintenance of environmental activities.
