Residential settlements in the Lancang Besar Island area of Kepulauan Seribu, apart from being used as residences, also function as micro-trading places. Seeing the high tourism potential in this area, this residence can be developed into a homestay for visiting tourists. The implementation methods and strategies applied in this activity include field observations followed by qualitative data analysis and residential design planning by adding homestay facilities. Several important things that need to be emphasized in the design of homestays originating from residents' homes in coastal areas include spatial organization, destruction, materials, vegetation, sanitation and elements of locality. The locality aspect of this design emphasizes several concepts, including local architecture, local materials, recycled materials, and local culture. Design planning needs to consider local architecture, as well as the spatial relationship formed between the rented space and the homeowner so that the existence of the homestay is able to provide a spatial and cultural experience for tourism visitors and also improve the quality of life of the homestay owner.

The Thousand Islands is an administrative district in Jakarta Province, comprising a cluster of islands accessible by regular ferry routes from Muara Angke and Marina Ancol. Lancang Besar Island, one of the inhabited islands, has been the site of community service initiatives by the Architecture Department of Mercu Buana University since 2021. The first and second phases of the project involved the development of public infrastructure, including playgrounds, teacher offices, and community halls, all managed autonomously by the Al Hijrah Foundation without charging any fees to students. In the 2024 academic year, the project will progress with the design of public restroom facilities to enhance the island's tourism potential. These facilities are intended to address the needs of visitors while contributing to the improvement of the island's environmental quality. This initiative is in line with the broader tourism development strategy for the Thousand Islands, aiming to stimulate the local economy through the creation of functional and aesthetically cohesive infrastructure.

The determinant of a teacher's learning success lies in the teaching process, which is able to attract student's interest so that they do not get bored quickly while learning by utilizing learning media. Misykat Al Anwar Integrated Islamic High School, in improving the quality of learning and teacher skills, held an agenda, namely The Great and Innovative Teacher Movement. These activities do not only focus on a teacher's abilities, especially game-based learning media, namely Kahoot! Kahoot is a game-based learning media that teachers can use in the teaching and learning process in class to create a more interactive atmosphere! The target of this community service activity is 23 teachers. This activity aims to improve teachers' skills in using the Kahoot application. The method of implementing this activity is in the form of lectures, discussions, practice, and assignments. The results of this service activity are as follows: (1) Teachers are familiar with the Kahoot application for creating online quizzes, and (2) teachers' skills in using the Kahoot application are improved.

This Community Service Program was conducted to introduce and implement hydroponic technology that utilizes waste from Nile tilapia farming as a source of organic fertilizer. This activity was located in Dolok Sagala Village, Dolok Masihul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The method used in this PKM included training and direct mentoring of the community in creating and managing a hydroponic system for cultivating Brassica Rapa plants. This activity showed that the hydroponic system using fish waste as organic fertilizer produced high-quality Brassica Rapa plants. Additionally, this program provided the community with new knowledge about the benefits and potential of hydroponic technology as a modern agricultural solution in limited land areas. The success of this program is expected to be adopted more widely by the community to enhance local food security and economic welfare.

To increase palm oil production, special attention must be given to various factors that influence plant growth. One crucial step is ensuring optimal care for immature plants to improve their quality and yield. Unfortunately, many smallholder palm oil farmers face limited knowledge and resources to apply proper care practices. Therefore, targeted efforts are needed to help them understand the importance of palm oil plant care to sustain and enhance the profitability of this sector. In Bukit Cermin Hilir Village, Dolok Masihul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, palm oil plant care uses two main techniques. The first technique is pruning, which involves removing fronds below the fruit bunches. This process facilitates pollination, increases the number of fresh fruit bunches, eases harvesting, and prevents excessive evaporation during the dry season. The second technique is circle clearing, which involves clearing a circular area around the palm tree with a radius of 0.6–1.5 meters to prevent weed growth that could disrupt the plants. Pruning is categorized into three types based on the plant’s age: initial pruning, production pruning, and maintenance pruning. The number of fronds left on each tree ranges from 28 to 54. These care practices optimize plant growth, simplify farm management, and contribute to producing higher-quality palm oil yields.

This community service project was conducted in Oi Mbo Village, Rasanae Timur District, Bima City. In this area, tofu dregs are primarily used as animal feed despite their potential to be processed into value-added food products. Rich in protein, fat, and water, tofu dregs have been limited to use as livestock feed, tempe gumbos ingredients, and crackers, with a minimal economic impact on the community. This activity aimed to train the community to process tofu dregs into Tofstick snacks with improved packaging and branding. The methods included preliminary surveys, program socialization, training, and evaluation. The results demonstrated that tofu dregs could be transformed into Tofstick snacks with broad market potential, providing economic value through innovation and creativity.

SMAN 1 Kalitidu is a school in Wotangare Village, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency. Based on a survey, approximately 35% to 40% of its graduates can continue their education at higher education institutions. Most of the remaining graduates choose to work due to economic constraints that hinder their ability to pursue further studies. This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to provide tie-dye batik training to foster entrepreneurial interest among students of SMAN 1 Kalitidu Bojonegoro. The implementation method consists of three stages: (1) preparation, involving coordination with the school regarding the schedule, targets, and requirements for the training, as well as preparing materials and tools for tie-dye batik making; (2) execution, carried out through tutorials and hands-on practice; and (3) evaluation, involving the distribution of questionnaires to participants to measure program success based on predetermined indicators. The training was held on December 6, 2024, attended by 25 tenth-grade students. After the tutorial session, participants practiced making tie-dye batik under the guidance of the PCM team. Evaluation results indicated that the training successfully increased students' entrepreneurial interest.

The tri dharma of higher education is a task and function for every lecturer that must be carried out every semester, and one of these activities is carrying out community service. The Industrial Engineering study program had the opportunity to implement it with MSMEs in making folded crackers in Sentis village, Percut Sei Tuan subdistrict. Based on the data, it was found that the quality of crackers was damaged by 21% per month, causing a decrease in income. This service aims to educate entrepreneurs to improve product quality so that cracker sales can increase and reduce damaged products using the Taguchi method. From the experimental results, it was found that quality improvements in the form of taste, durability and crispness of crackers could be improved through 3 stages, namely the drying factor for 7 hours (A1), the optimal baking factor for 13 minutes (B1), and the optimal frying factor for 2 minutes (C2). The results of this experiment succeeded in improving the quality of crackers, in line with consumer expectations, and it is hoped that they will be able to restore and increase sales which previously experienced a decline.
