Abstract

This study aims to develop an innovative tepache fermented beverage made from pineapple peel waste and to analyze its product characteristics and potential utilization as an economically valuable and environmentally friendly product. The research is motivated by the abundance of pineapple peel waste that has not been optimally utilized, thereby creating potential environmental problems. In fact, pineapple peels still contain various beneficial compounds, including natural sugars, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and the bromelain enzyme, which can be utilized as raw materials for food products. One form of utilization is through the production of tepache, a fermented beverage made from pineapple peels that possesses a distinctive flavor and potential as a functional drink. This study employed an experimental method with a simple Research and Development (R&D) approach. The research stages included raw material preparation, fermentation process, product packaging, and product evaluation. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and organoleptic testing covering color, aroma, taste, and consumer acceptance. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to determine the quality of the resulting product. The findings indicate that pineapple peel waste can be processed into a tepache fermented beverage through a simple and easily applicable method. The resulting product exhibits an attractive reddish-brown color, a distinctive pineapple fermentation aroma, and a refreshing sweet-sour taste, receiving positive responses from consumers. The utilization of pineapple peel waste as a raw material for tepache demonstrates significant economic potential due to its low production costs and promising market opportunities. Furthermore, this innovation contributes to reducing organic waste and supports the concepts of waste-to-value and the circular economy as efforts toward sustainable environmental management.

Abstract

Abstract The rapid development of digital technology has made social media one of the primary sources of information for elementary school students. In Social Studies learning, social media issue literacy can help students understand social phenomena in a more contextual way while encouraging active participation during classroom learning. This study aimed to analyze students' levels of social media issue literacy, their learning activeness, and the relationship between these two variables in fifth-grade Social Studies learning. A quantitative approach with a correlational research design was employed. The sample consisted of 36 fifth-grade students from SDN 1 Gembleb and SDN 1 Kedunglurah, Pogalan District, Trenggalek Regency, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed through normality, linearity, and Pearson correlation tests using IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The findings indicated that the data were normally distributed and met the assumption of linearity. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a correlation coefficient of  0.820 with a significance value of  0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a positive, significant, and very strong relationship between social media issue literacy and students' learning activeness. These findings suggest that higher levels of social media issue literacy are associated with greater student participation in Social Studies learning. The study implies that integrating social media issue literacy into Social Studies instruction can serve as an effective strategy to enhance students' active engagement while fostering critical thinking skills at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The abstract should concisely describe the content and scope of your paper and identify the objective(s), its methodology and its findings, conclusions, and implication of study. This research aims to describe the implementation of the reading class program in helping primary students who experience reading difficulties, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors, and analyze its impact on student reading sub-skills at SDN 2 Ngetal. A qualitative research design with a descriptive case study approach was utilized. The research informants consisted of the school principal, lower-grade class teachers, and seven students facing reading challenges. Data were collected via structured non-participatory observations, semi-structured interviews, and comprehensive documentation tracking. The collected data were processed through analytical stages encompassing data reduction, explicit coding, structural data display, and conclusion verification. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source and technical triangulation combined with rigorous member checking. The findings revealed that the reading class program was systematically executed through structured stages of diagnostic mapping, individualized treatment execution, and tiered scaffolding adaptations. The targeted pedagogical assistance and scaffolding strategies significantly enhanced students' decoding accuracy, reading fluency, and comprehension. Factors driving program success included solid institutional policy commitments, continuous teacher dedication, and highly interactive physical media modifications. Conversely, temporal limitations and situational variations in target focus acted as administrative constraints. This research concludes that a structured and differentiated reading class operationalized through continuous scaffolding can serve as a potent remedial model to eradicate foundational literacy blockages in basic education settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the phenomenon of student deviant behavior at SMP Negeri 7 Blitar City, including the causal factors, forms of violations, impacts, prevention methods, obstacles, and solutions. The research method uses a qualitative single case study. Informants were selected intentionally through purposive and snowball sampling techniques, involving the principal, vice-president of student affairs, guidance counselors, homeroom teachers, subject teachers, and student perpetrators. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation of violation records for 39 students. The research procedure includes four stages: instrument preparation, six-month field implementation, data analysis of the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model (condensation, presentation, conclusion) tested through source/technique triangulation, and final reporting. The results show that violations are triggered by internal factors (unstable emotions) and external factors (broken homes, peers, and social media). The forms vary from minor violations in open areas (truancy, swearing) to serious violations in quiet places (smoking, fighting, damaging facilities). The novelty of this research is the success of mapping that the type of student delinquency is influenced by the physical location in the school (crowded vs. quiet places) as well as the influence of current digital trends. The theoretical implication is that this research enriches social science regarding child behavior control in schools in the modern era. The practical implication is that this research becomes a real guide for schools to create zoning-based rules, helps BK teachers design heartfelt guidance, and invites parents to work together to supervise their children humanely.

Abstract

This qualitative single-case study aims to analyze the patterns of instilling human values at Nurul Falah Orphanage (LKSA) in Blitar. Participants were selected using purposive sampling to identify the orphanage's core management, followed by snowball sampling to recruit foster children. Data collection continued until data saturation was achieved, indicating that no new information emerged from the participants. The foster children came from diverse backgrounds, with many experiencing family-related trauma, such as broken-home conditions, and gadget addiction. The study was conducted over six months, from November 2025 to April 2026. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and their credibility was ensured through data triangulation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which consists of three stages: data condensation, data display, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The findings indicate that the instilling of human values was successfully implemented through a combination of a caring approach, shared daily activities, and positive discipline based on action-oriented practices. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive examination of human values as an integrated system rather than as separate dimensions, as presented in previous studies. Furthermore, caregivers' exemplary behavior was found to help overcome challenges related to children's trauma and negative external influences. The study also integrates Al-Ghazali's concept of purification of the soul with Western psychological theories. Practically, the findings provide a reference for orphanages seeking to foster children's character through non-violent educational approaches. Overall, the study demonstrates that the implemented practices contribute to the development of children's social and spiritual independence.

Abstract

The introduction of compulsory English in Indonesian primary schools from 2027 has intensified the need to understand teachers’ readiness, particularly among non-specialist English teachers. This study explored primary school teachers’ readiness to teach English through the Alignment–Capability–Engagement (ACE) framework. A basic qualitative research design was employed involving 33 primary school teachers in South Kalimantan participating in the Peningkatan Kompetensi Guru Sekolah Dasar Mengajar Bahasa Inggris (PKGSD-MBI) program. Participants were selected using purposive sampling, and data were collected through open-ended questionnaires and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed six interconnected themes across the three ACE dimensions. Teachers demonstrated alignment through their understanding of the educational goals of English instruction and perceived institutional support, although formal school implementation remained limited. Capability was reflected in teachers’ continuous self-directed learning, pedagogical planning, and the integration of classroom English and diverse instructional resources. Engagement was characterized by strong motivation to teach English despite limited opportunities to participate in broader school-based English initiatives. The findings suggest that teacher readiness is a multidimensional construct shaped by organizational support, developing professional capability, and sustained commitment. The study highlights the value of the ACE framework in understanding teacher readiness and underscores the importance of structured professional development and school-level support to facilitate the successful implementation of compulsory English in Indonesian primary schools.

Abstract

Food security is a fundamental prerequisite for human development, and Indonesia still faces wide disparities in the Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU) across provinces. This study aims to group 38 Indonesian provinces based on their average PoU for the 2018-2024 period using the K-Means Clustering algorithm to support evidence-based food security policy prioritization. Secondary PoU data compiled from official statistics underwent data cleaning (correction of naming and regional code inconsistencies), z-score standardization, and optimal cluster determination through a combination of the Elbow Method, Silhouette Score, and Davies-Bouldin Index. The analysis identified three optimal clusters (Silhouette Score = 0.593): a low-risk cluster (26 provinces, mean PoU 7.85%), a moderate-risk cluster (6 provinces, mean PoU 17.16%), and a high-risk cluster (6 provinces, mean PoU 32.13%) dominated by provinces in Papua and Maluku. This study contributes a methodological framework for handling administrative data inconsistencies arising from regional redistricting, as well as a nutrition-intervention priority map that can serve as a reference for policymakers in achieving SDG 2 (Zero Hunger).

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with a deep learning approach in accelerating students’ creative thinking ability in the Pancasila Education subject. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design, the research, which ran for eight months from November 2025 to June 2026, involved a population of 254 eighth-grade students at SMPN 8 Blitar. Through the application of a cluster random sampling technique, 64 students were selected as the sample and distributed evenly into an experimental class that received deep-learning-based PBL treatment and a control class that was taught using the conventional method. Primary data were collected using a creative-thinking test instrument, which was subsequently analyzed through the Independent Samples t-Test and N-Gain calculation. The empirical findings confirmed a significant difference in achievement between the two groups (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05), with the experimental group’s mean posttest score of 88.00 significantly outperforming the control group, which only achieved 75.94. The experimental group also showed a high level of effectiveness, obtaining a mean N-Gain Score of 0.7527. The novelty of this research lies in the modification of the PBL syntax that synergizes the three pillars of deep learning—mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning—which provides practical implications for educators in transforming the classroom into a contextual learning environment. Based on these results, it is concluded that the implementation of a deep-learning-oriented PBL model is highly effective in boosting students’ creative thinking skills.

Abstract

The low critical thinking ability of Grade X students at MA Ma'arif NU Kota Blitar in the Pancasila Education subject motivated this quasi-experimental study using a nonequivalent control group design. The study aimed to test the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model using samples from class X.F (25 students, experimental group) and class X.B (25 students, control group) selected through purposive sampling. The novelty of this research lies in the localization of the subjects in a private Islamic senior high school (Madrasah Aliyah) with a distinctive religious culture. Data were collected through HOTS essay tests and analyzed using the t-test and Normalized Gain (N-Gain). The results showed that the implementation of the PBL model fell into the very good category (92.86%). Although the t-test proved there was no statistically significant comparative difference in critical thinking between the groups (p = 0.113 > 0.05) due to the limited adaptation period, the internal analysis of the experimental class recorded an average N-Gain score of 0.58 (moderate improvement category). The theoretical implication of this research confirms that the effectiveness of PBL is not absolute but strongly depends on students' initial cognitive readiness. Practically, this research guides teachers to integrate strong structured guidance (scaffolding) at the beginning of the PBL syntax to trigger independent thinking within the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of local religious tradition and digital vocational training in shaping the character and independence of santri (Islamic boarding school students). Using a qualitative case study approach, the researcher acted as the key instrument (human instrument), present directly in the field for six months (March–August 2026). Research subjects were determined purposively and developed through snowball sampling until data saturation was reached, involving caregivers (pengasuh), ustadz, and santri. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed interactively using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model (condensation, display, and conclusion drawing), while data validity was tested through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that the synergy of kitab kuning (classical Islamic text) study, Nawa Sila, the habituation of krama language, and a live-streaming-based digital vocational program successfully transformed santri behavior from external compliance toward autonomous awareness (moral knowing, feeling, action). The novelty of this study lies in identifying refined krama language as a psychological instrument for emotional regulation, as well as the use of social media as a medium for practicing ethics (moral action). The theoretical implication extends Lickona's theory through the lens of Javanese local wisdom and tazkiyat al-nafs, while the practical implication provides a reference for an adaptive, humanistic boarding-school-based character curriculum.
