Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model assisted by digital comics on elementary school students' critical thinking skills in Pancasila Education. The study was motivated by students' limited ability to interpret information, analyze problems, evaluate arguments, and draw logical conclusions. This condition is associated with teacher-centered learning practices that provide limited opportunities for active student participation and the limited use of engaging instructional media. Therefore, an innovative learning model that actively involves students and promotes higher-order thinking skills is needed. This study employed a quantitative approach using a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research involved 53 fourth-grade elementary school students, consisting of 27 students in the experimental class, which received the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model assisted by digital comics, and 26 students in the control class, which received conventional instruction. Data were collected through pretests and posttests using a valid and reliable critical thinking skills test and were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, Independent Samples t-test, and N-Gain tests with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicated a significant effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model assisted by digital comics on students' critical thinking skills, with a significance value of 0.001 (*p* < 0.05). The mean score of the experimental class increased from 68 to 83, while the control class improved from 53 to 65. The average N-Gain score was 0.4470, indicating a moderate level of improvement.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low English proficiency of primary school students in Indonesia, particularly in speaking skills, and the limited availability of educational tourism-based English learning programs that provide meaningful and contextual learning experiences. The study aimed to establish an English Edu-Trip program model using YouTube as a learning companion for Primary EFL Learners in Blitar. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method involving 15 primary school students in the field trial. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, expert validation sheets, and speaking tests. Qualitative and quantitative data analyses were conducted to support the development, validation, and evaluation of the program model. The study resulted in an English Edu-Trip program model integrating pre-site, on-site, and post-site activities with the principles of Experiential Learning, Communicative Language Teaching, Educational Tourism, and YouTube as a learning companion. The model includes program structure, learning activities, implementation guidelines, feasibility indicators, and expected learning outcomes. Expert validation indicated high validity, with Aiken’s V coefficients of 0.81 for program design and 0.89 for learning materials. The trial implementation also demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in students’ speaking performance (p < 0.001). These findings suggest that the established English Edu-Trip program model is both feasible and effective in supporting contextual, interactive, and meaningful English learning for Primary EFL Learners.

Abstract

The internalization of Pancasila values is crucial for shaping elementary students' character. However, because instruction remains heavily cognitive, this internalization is often suboptimal. This study aims to describe: (1) the process of internalizing Pancasila values in Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn), (2) the implementation of an ethnographic approach, (3) supporting school culture, (4) facilitating and inhibiting factors, and (5) the impact on students' behaviors. Employing a qualitative ethnographic design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis from purposively selected subjects, including the principal, teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, and validity was ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings reveal that internalization occurs through habituation, role modeling, reflection, discussion, and problem-solving integrated into instruction. The ethnographic approach leverages local culture, traditions, and social environments as contextual learning resources. A positive school culture featuring religious practices, mutual cooperation, and discipline further reinforces these values. Supporting factors include leadership commitment and community participation, while digital media influence and limited time act as barriers. Ultimately, this approach successfully fosters religious attitudes, responsibility, tolerance, discipline, mutual cooperation, and patriotism among students.

Abstract

Understanding science concepts is a crucial skill for elementary school students, enabling them to connect and apply these concepts to their daily lives. However, teacher-centered instruction has resulted in suboptimal student understanding of biodiversity concepts. This study aimed to determine the impact of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model on the science concept understanding of fifth-grade elementary students regarding biodiversity. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The study population consisted of fifth-grade elementary students during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected via pre-tests and post-tests assessing concept understanding and analyzed using prerequisite tests, an independent sample t-test, and the N-Gain test. The results indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The independent sample t-test on post-test scores yielded a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05), demonstrating a significant effect of the RADEC model on students' science concept understanding. This improvement was supported by an N-Gain score of 0.61 (medium category) and an effectiveness rate of 60.93% (moderately effective category). In conclusion, the RADEC learning model effectively enhances students' science concept understanding through a learning process that fosters independence, collaboration, and creativity. The study recommends the RADEC model as an innovative teaching strategy for elementary schools and suggests it serve as a reference for future researchers looking to adapt the model for different subject matter or educational levels.

Abstract

Wonodadi District, Blitar Regency, developed the Pak Wagimin Letik innovation (Pelayanan Kabeh Wajib Digitalisasi Adminduk Lewat IKD) to encourage community participation in activating and utilizing Digital Population Identity (IKD). This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Pak Wagimin Letik innovation in increasing community participation and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the Head of Wonodadi District, population administration service operators, and service users. The analysis used George C. Edwards III's policy implementation model consisting of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The findings indicate that the innovation has generally been implemented well. Internal communication among implementers operates effectively through coordination meetings, briefings, and staff assemblies, while communication to the community remains uneven. Human resources and service facilities are available and supportive, although limitations in SIAK-enabled computers, internet disruptions, and community devices remain obstacles. Implementer disposition is a major strength, reflected in commitment, responsibility, courtesy, responsiveness, and direct assistance during IKD activation. The bureaucratic structure is also supportive through standard operating procedures, clear task division, and coordination with the Blitar Regency Population and Civil Registration Office. The main obstacles are limited public outreach, inadequate supporting facilities and internet connectivity, low digital literacy, and the need to adapt procedures to certain community conditions. The study recommends broader outreach, stronger digital literacy, improved facilities, and strengthened coordination among implementers.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the management of play environments and the availability of Educational Play Equipment (APE) in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions, as well as to identify the extent to which the principles of Child Risk Assessment and Safety (CRAS) have been applied in managing child safety and play experiences. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through field observations, surveys of APE availability in 10 institutions in Tapos, Kediri Regency, and interviews with principals and teachers. The results show that the availability of indoor APE is not yet evenly distributed, with building blocks available in 70% of institutions, puzzles in 60%, and Lego/Bombik in 50%. In the outdoor environment, slides are available in 90% of institutions, while sandboxes are in 50%, seesaws in 40%, swings in 30%, and crawling tunnels in only 10%. Institutions have implemented several safety practices through spatial arrangement, APE inspection and maintenance, teacher training, recording of medical and allergy profiles, and injury handling procedures. However, the implementation of CRAS has not been fully structured because risk identification, assessment of the suitability of APE with child characteristics, risk-benefit analysis, mitigation, and monitoring documentation have not yet appeared as an integrated system. This study validates the necessity of transitioning from risk aversion to risk management that takes into account both safety and the developmental advantages for children.
