Abstract

Background: Reproductive health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being related to the reproductive system, its functions, and processes, not merely the absence of disease or disability. Lack of knowledge about reproductive health among adolescents can lead to various problems such as unintended pregnancy, abortion, early marriage, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and HIV/AIDS. Therefore, adequate knowledge and positive attitudes toward reproductive health are essential to prevent these risks, especially among high school students. Purpose: To describe the level of knowledge and attitudes toward reproductive health among adolescents. Method: A quantitative design with an analytic survey approach. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling method. The population consisted of 282 students, with a sample of 247 respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and the Statistical Programmer for Social Science (SPSS). Results: The majority of respondents had good knowledge, with 214 students (86.6%) categorized as having a high level of knowledge. In terms of attitude, most respondents also demonstrated positive attitudes toward reproductive health, with 162 students (65.6%). Conclusion: Most adolescents have good knowledge and positive attitudes regarding reproductive health. However, continuous education is still needed to maintain and further improve awareness and positive attitudes toward reproductive health.   Keywords: Attitude; Adolescents; High School Students; Knowledge; Reproductive Health.

Abstract

Background: The rapid development of social media has had a significant impact on the lives of adolescents, particularly in emotional aspects. Early and middle adolescence are age groups in a phase of psychological development that is vulnerable to emotional changes due to exposure to digital content. Exposure to a variety of social media content, both positive and negative, has the potential to impact adolescents' emotional stability. Purpose: To examine exposure to mental health content on social media and emotional states among adolescents. Method: A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample size was 82 participants, consisting of 41 junior high school students (early adolescents) and 41 vocational high school students (middle adolescents). The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure the emotional status of participants. Data analysis was conducted using the Dependent T-Test and the Independent T-Test to determine the average difference in emotional status between the two groups. Results: No significant difference between the emotional status of early and middle adolescents in response to exposure to social media content, either in the pre-test (p = 0.671) with a significance value of p>0.05. Conclusion: This indicates that the level of age development does not significantly influence the emotional responses of adolescents in this study. Keywords: Early Adolescence; Emotional Status; Exposure To Social Media Content; Middle Adolescence.

Abstract

Background: The mental health of pregnant women is a critical public health issue because it affects the well-being of both the mother and the foetus. Conditions such as antenatal depression and anxiety in pregnant women are common but often go undetected Purpose: To identify the determinants of mental health in pregnant women through a systematic review Method: This study employed a systematic review method to identify, evaluate, and synthesize scientific evidence regarding the determinants of mental health in pregnant women. The article was prepared in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines to ensure transparency and the replicability of the research. A systematic literature search was conducted in several databases, including PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The search focused on articles published between 2020 and 2026 Results: Sociodemographic factors, obstetric conditions, social support, and access to health care are the primary determinants of mental health among pregnant women Conclusion: Community-based interventions and increased social support are needed to improve maternal mental health during pregnancy Keywords: Determinants; Mental Health; Pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Cervical cancer is a significant global health problem, with most cases caused by infection with oncogenic types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV). In Indonesia, HPV immunization coverage remains suboptimal. Female university students, as agents of change, are expected to play an active role in prevention through their knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding HPV immunization. Purpose: To describe the behavior of female students toward HPV immunization, including knowledge, attitudes, and practices. Method: A quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all active female students from the 2021–2025 cohorts, totaling 990 individuals. A sample of 102 respondents was determined using the Lem show formula and selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire (Google Form) that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted univariately to describe the frequency distribution of each variable. Results: The results showed that most respondents had a moderate level of knowledge (38.2%), followed by low (32.4%) and good (29.4%) levels. Attitudes toward HPV immunization were overwhelmingly positive (98.0%), with only 2.0% showing negative attitudes. However, none of the respondents (0%) had received the HPV vaccine, although the majority (77.5%) expressed willingness to be vaccinated if it were available. Conclusion: The knowledge of female students is generally moderate, and their attitudes toward HPV immunization are highly positive; however, this is not reflected in actual vaccination behavior. There is a gap between intention and practice, indicating the need for more effective interventions to improve access and promote HPV vaccination uptake.
