Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (DMT2) is a health problem of concern in Indonesia because it is a chronic disease with severe advanced complications and high mortality with a prevalence from 6.9% in 2013 to 8.5% in 2018. Uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) levels in the blood can cause functional disorders like physical, psychological, and social dysfunction which can cause sufferers to feel less prosperous and result in a decrease in their quality of life. The use of telenursing technology is needed to optimize health services to improve the quality of life of DMT2 patients. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of telenursing as a technological innovation to improve the quality of life of DMT2 patients. The literature study design used the research method sourced from the Sciencedirect, Ebscohost, Proquest, and Pubmed databases. Articles were screened based on the inclusion criteria of the study. Articles are subject to a feasibility process based on the Scimago Journal Rank and the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) instrument. Articles were analyzed based on the PICO method (Population, Intervention, Compare, Outcome) and grouped by Thematic Analysis. From the literature study conducted, several studies report that telenursing is proven to be effective in improving the quality of life of DMT2 patients. Education for DMT2 patients is carried out to increase patient knowledge so that they can control blood sugar (glucose) levels in the body, minimize the risk of complications, improve treatment capabilities and improve patients quality of life. The use of technology as innovation is needed for the efficiency of nursing services in the form of telenursing so that it can be a solution in improving the quality of life of DMT2 patients. Studies on technological developments that have the potential to improve the quality of nursing care, one of which is telenursing, can be optimized as an effort to improve the quality of life of DMT2 patients.

With this community service, it can help the Indonesian government in 2024 reduce the prevalence of stunting to reach 14%, which means it must reduce the prevalence by 10.4% in the next 2 years.

Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is still high in Indonesia, one of which is due to prolonged labor. The thing that plays an important role in the labor process is the pushing force and this can be done by following pregnancy exercises. The purpose of pregnancy exercise is to train breathing and pelvic cavity muscles before delivery. The purpose of this research was to determine the correlation of pregnancy exercise on the duration of the first stage of labor at TPMB Ferie Kusuma K. This research method used an analytical survey design with a prospective cohort approach. The population was all mothers in labor from July to September 2021. The sampling technique used simple random sampling so that the sample size was 34 people. The research instrument used is a checklist and a partograph. Data analysis using Fisher Exact test. Research shows that the majority of pregnant women who carry out pregnancy exercises regularly are 27 people (79.4%). The appropriate length of the first stage of labor was 28 people (82.3%). The results of the statistical test showed that there was a relationship between pregnancy exercise and the duration of the first stage of labor with a p-value of 0.000 and OR = 23,429. The labor process is shorter for pregnant women who routinely do pregnancy exercise because pregnancy exercise can strengthen muscles, flex joints, and can train concentration so that they can divert their minds so can forget the pain during childbirth. Pregnant women should routinely carry out pregnancy exercise activities in antenatal classes.
