Abstract

The research aims to determine the influence of the Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectually (SAVI) model on the ability to understand the concept of fractions of grade IV students of SDN 6 Muara Dua. This study uses a quantitative research method with an experimental design. The subject of this study is grade IV students who are divided into two groups. The experimental group was applied with the SAVI learning model and the control group followed the conventional learning method. Data was collected through a fraction concept comprehension test before and after learning. The researcher conducted a hypothesis test using a t-test. From the results of hypothesis testing using statistical formulas, a significant result of the t-test was obtained, namely 0.017, meaning 0.017 <0.05) which means accepting H1 minus H0. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that "there is an influence of the Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectually (SAVI) model on the ability to understand the concept of fractions of grade IV students of SD N 6 Muara Dua".

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of using the discovery learning model with the use of Quizizz media on the academic performance of seventh graders at MTsN 4 in Surabaya City.  The methodology used for this study is known as Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research involved 32 students from Surabaya City's seventh grade E MTsN 4 class. Two cycles were used to conduct the research.  The four phases of a cycle are preparation (preparation), execution (act), oversight (observation), and analysis (analysis). After collecting data using the learning results test technique, we compared the results using a table that categorized the percentage of learning completeness and then evaluated the data based on students' learning outcomes. Learning outcomes significantly improve with each cycle, according to the research. A score of 21.875% in the extremely bad category, 53.125% in cycle I, and 84.375% in cycle II are all indicative of this improvement compared to pre-cycle activity. Students in seventh grade at MTsN 4 in Surabaya City can benefit from using Quizizz media to supplement the discovery learning methodology.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the mathematical elements applied in the architecture of Jabung Temple, Probolinggo Regency. This research uses qualitative research methods with an ethnographic approach. The results of the research show that there are several ethnomathematics at Jabung Temple, including the concepts of flat shapes, spatial shapes, geometric transformations, similarity and congruence. This research can be used as material for preparing student test packages in the form of questions related to geometric transformations. This research can also help improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts and develop critical and logical thinking skills. Apart from that, this research can also be a reference for teachers in developing curriculum and mathematics learning methods that are more effective and enjoyable for students.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the ethnomathematics values contained in the traditional pindan game in Jrebeng Kidul Village, Probolinggo, East Java. Pindan is a local game that not only functions as entertainment, but also as a means of character and social education for children and teenagers. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this research identifies mathematical concepts such as patterns, logic, speed and dexterity that emerge in the dynamics of the game. The findings show that the integration of local cultural elements in mathematics learning can strengthen students' understanding of abstract concepts, as well as foster critical and analytical thinking skills. Apart from that, this game plays an important role in strengthening social relations between residents and preserving local wisdom in the midst of globalization which is shifting the popularity of traditional games. This research recommends developing a curriculum based on local culture to increase the relevance of mathematics learning in students' daily lives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using PowerPoint media in enhancing the geometric thinking skills of 6th-grade students, particularly in understanding the concepts of area, perimeter, and volume of solid figures. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest design) at MI Nazhatut Tholibin, Probolinggo Regency. The research subjects consist of 20 students divided into two groups: the experimental group using PowerPoint and the control group using conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, interviews, and observations. The results of the study show that the use of PowerPoint significantly improved the students' learning outcomes. Statistical tests indicate that the data is normally distributed and the variance between groups is homogeneous. The Independent Sample t-Test results show a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The posttest average score of the experimental group is higher than that of the control group, indicating the effectiveness of PowerPoint in helping students understand geometry. This study concludes that PowerPoint can be an effective alternative in mathematics learning, particularly in solid figures.
