Abstract

The research on the application of the method Iridologi on education for the identification of stress on the elementary, junior high and high school in West Sumatra have been implemented since 2009-2011. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of methods for identification of stress Iridologi students in teaching and learning to follow the National Examination in elementary, middle and high school. So far, education experts do not have a physical examination methods stress levels of students in learning process for success in National Examination (UN). With Iridologi methods (physical examination of the iris) is easy to determine the level of stress to find a solution. Iridologi  is a branch of science neurology (the science of nerves). Iridologi able to detect changes in body condition which is reflected by a smooth peripheral nerves throughout the body in humans and vertebrate animals. This study is a pioneering application of biology to solve problems in education. The subjects studied were students at 6 SMAN  in 3 districts (Padang City, Sijunjung and Pesisir Selatan regency), SDN 38 students in the city of Padang and students in the district Sijunjung SMPN 9. The results in 2009 at the stress level high school students facing the UN in 2010 was 68% and levels of stress were 32% rate of severe stress. Subsequently, in 2010, for elementary students, 0.08% tingat mild stress, the stress level is 65.7% and 24.3% rate of severe stress. In 2011, for junior high school students found a mild 0.8% stress levels, stress levels were 59% and 32% stress level. Conclusion from three years study showed that the method Iridologi effectively demonstrated Iridologi stress levels of students from elementary, middle and high school students to follow the national examination (UN).Kata kunci: Metode Iridologi, Identifikasi Stres

Abstract

The study of Istisqaq (derivational word) as a part of Fiqh lughah (Arabic linguistic) is a main concern of linguists in the recent decade. Istisqa’ is one of the distinguished features of Arabic which have rich vocabulary. In the early of the third century of Hijriah year, several Ulamas (Moslem scholar) pay a serious attention in the study of Istisqaq. Istisqaq is a process of forming a word to another word in order to produce a new meaning. This formation was initiated by Ibn Jinniy. He then wrote a monumental book entitled Al-Khashaish. Istisqaq is identical with the study of Ilm Syarf (morphology).  This paper concludes that the teaching of fiqh lughah in an advanced level needs to improve. In addition to this, the addition of language structure could be taught contextually and communicatively.   Kata kunci: analisis, isytiqaq, fikih lughah

Abstract

The successful implementation on the Eight of Indonesia Nasional Education Standarts at madrasah is determinated by madrasah principal performance. The evaluation of madrasah principal performance need considerate to competencies of a madrasah principal. Abstract

The teaching of English at elementary school level is believed to give promising contribution since it can improve students’ language proficiency at early stages. However, teachers’ professional competency is suspected as one of potential problems due to the facts that some of them are not really prepared to teach at this level. Even most of the teachers are not English teaching background. Realizing the phenomena, continuous training and knowledge upgrading programs should be of prior concern. This article is therefore intended to share some ideas how to improve elementary English teachers’ professional competency, especially in designing syllabus and develepoing lesson plan by considering the nature ofvelepoing lesson plan by considering the nature of young learners and the principles of teaching them as well.Kata kunci: kompetensi, pengelolaan pembelajaran, guru, bahasa Inggris, KKG

Abstract

The reality of students’ negative attitude made Indonesia goverment had not moved forward nowadays. Most people judged that educational system should take the responsibility to this condition. Education was assumed laying on students’ cognitive rather than affective and conative. Reliazing this phenomena, counceling as a part of education offered group counceling as one strategy of character education based playing games. There were twelve playing games that could be applied to build positive character: the practice writing, body movement, circleling, dyad, triad, creative group, art and handcraft, fantasy, reading, feedback, belief, moral dilemma, and group decision. Kata kunci: bimbingan kelompok,  karakter, dan latihan permainan

Abstract

The rapid progress of information and communication technology in the 21th centuryforced teachers who teach students at any levels of education  to change their behaviour and mind-set, even the the commitee that supported them to achieve their teaching objective. A good approach is that a way in which one could integrate technology and education, that was through Blended Learning Model (BLM). This model combined the usual teaching classroom and teaching online. Abstract

This research was inspired from the result of a research under the title: “Analisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis mahassiswa program studi tadris matematika.” This research was done to know and describe how was the students’ ability to solve mathematic probelm as math teacher candidate in Geometri Transformasi subject registered in 2012/2013 academic year of Mathematic department of Tarbiyah Faculty of STAIN Batusangkar. The design of this research was the combination of quantitative and qualitative by using descriptive approach. The instrument of this research was test and interview. The data was analyzed through data triangulation, data reduction, data presentation, and making conclusion. The result of the research showed that the students’ ability from high group was very satisfactory. The students’ ability from avarage group was satisfactory. And, the students’ ability from low group was almost satisfactory.Kata kunci: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah, matematis

Abstract

This research was done because of the students’ difficulties in understanding the concept of global warming and implementing character values so that it needed to design poster media based character education. This research was aimed to see the effectiveness of poster media based character education that was already developed in Ilmu Alamiah Dasar subject. The design of the research was a research development. The effectiveness of poster media was gotten from testing to the students who had conducted Ilmu Alamiah Dasar subject. The instrument of the research was questionnaire. The result of the rsearch showed that developing poster media based character education was very effective according to the students with percentage 81.9%. Abstract

This research was inspired because of the researcher previous research. Based on the result of the research, he found that there was a contradiction between the students’ enthusiastic and their score after appying Team Game Tournament (TGT) technique. They had highly positive to the use of the technique, but they had low score after doing the reading test. It was the reason why the researcher tried to reresearch about the trueness whether the technique was still possible to be used at Reading Comprehension classroom or not. This research was descriptive quantitative one. Respondent of the research was the third semester students of English department of Tarbiyah Faculty of STAIN Batusangkar registered in 2013/2014 academic year. Data of the research was collected by giving questionnaire and observation note. After analyzing the data of the research, it was known that the students’ attitude toward the use of Team Game Tournament (TGT)technique at Reading Comprehension III classroom was positive in which there were 16 students (42,1%) had positif attitude toward the use of the technkique.Kata kunci: Sikap Mahasiswa, Team Game Tournament

Abstract

This study was addressed to explore types of questions and its frequency used by EFL teacher in the classroom during the teaching processes through analyzing the transcripts of the videotaped instructions. Another special emphasis is put on investigating the length of the students’ utterances in responding the teacher questions. The participants were 29 Grade-eleven students and  an English teacher. The results showed that rhetorical, procedural, closed, open, display, and referential questions were found, and it was more focused on the last four types of questions. However, display questions are more than twice as much as referential one, 50.8% compared to 14.6% occurrences, and closed questions are the most preferred questions with a total number of 252 which is also slightly more than double of referential questions which compose 62 questions. Conversely, open and referential questions produced longer students’ responses than closed and display ones.Key Words: teacher question, EFL classroom interaction, student responses
