Abstract

This article discusses about an approach to create a good test for speaking and listening subject.  The facts showed that many of the tests were created based on the teacher’s needs, not yet based on the goal of the test itself.  As we know, there are kinds of approach to create a good test to test language ability; speaking, reading, writing and listening.  One of them is a sociolinguistics approach.  This approach is introduced to make the students aware of the test.  To apply this approach, teacher must prepare a well-designed worksheet for the students.  The worksheet must be written completely related to the sociolinguistics approach.  In this article, the writer will explain the way of how to design a worksheet for the students especially in testing speaking and listening. Kata Kunci:  Designing, worksheet, sociolinguistics, approach, testing

Abstract

his article is a study about how to think in education. Thinking in education should be integrated in process of learning at colleges. In philosophy, thinking in education is one of means of education for critical thinking. Effectively, thinking in education used to study some problems in education. Thinking in education is metacognition. As a part metacognition, critical thinking applied in college will produced a high quality outcomes. In other words, learning process in colleges wich involved lecturers and students interaction if and appropriate process of building the critical thinking pattern. This pattern will effective if the process is formed integratedly the college policies. Since it will affect to all of educational aspect. Abstract

As an innovator in educational thought in Indonesia, Mahmud Yunus has pioneered several innovated works. Among his innovated thoughts in education, especially in terms of educational institution are: grading the education levels in accordance with the age of pupils, establishing PGA (senior high schools for Islamic teaching teacher training), and ADIA (Academy of Islamic Studies) in Jakarta. In terms of teaching methods, Mahmud Yunus pioneered the application of Directs Methods (thariqal al- mubasyarah), in teaching Arabic. On of his important ideas deal with the nation that "methods of instruction are more important than that of material"(al thariqatu ahammu min al maddah). In curriculum field, he has already applied integrated curriculum which integrates knowledge in general sense and Islamic one.Kata Kunci: pemikiran, pendidikan

Abstract

School today are facing the difficult challenges of ensuring success for all students and fostering an empowered, enthusistic staff of lifelong. This article is about developing “resiliency”, a new paradigma of student development that offers schools a coherent. The foundation for the resiliency paradgma is a dramatic new perspective on how children and adolescence bounce back from stress, trauma, and risk in their lives that is emerging from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, and sociology. An understanding of resiliency, its importance, and the way schools can help students bounce back and evolve into more competent and successful learners is needed now more than ever. Abstract

This research was based on the needs of improving students’ speaking skill and teachers’ creativity in managing learning process on speaking skill at MTsN as a response to the lack of students’ speaking ability. This research, therefore, employed qualitative approach and analyzed by means of reflective, participative and collaborative studies. The setting of the research was MTsN Paninjauan by employing 2 cycles, each of which consisted of 4 meetings. In cycle 1, the students were not familiar with learning condition where communicative practices were applied and therefore were explained to them the principles so that the students and teachers got more familiar with. Observing on the students’ speaking it was found that students’ average improvement was 1.14 with average achievement was 48.1%. At the end of cycle 2, students’ speaking skill showed an average improvement of 3.9 with average percentage of achievement 79%.Kata Kunci : keterampilan , berbicara, teknik komunikatif, pemahaman, ujaran

Abstract

The major problem of education in Indonesia is the low quality in any levels, kinds and units of education, such as pre-school, primary, secondary and higher education, including Islamic education. Data show that there was no significant changes in general though few schools and madrasahs show promising quality improvement. Some students from big cities in Indonesia were awarded medals in international Olympic. This article which is inspired by a seminar on management of empowerment in improving quality of education discusses the nature of such management, investigates various factors of involution in education, various efforts in reinventing education quality improvement and reconstruct management of empowerment for the future.

Abstract

One of the most important agenda of in education todai is to establish such a link-and-match curriculum among levels or educational institution and among educational institution, workfield, and stakeholders. To realize such a desired curriculum among levels or educational institution, the visions, missions, curriculum and characteriustics of the instituions should be comprehensively understood. The process of  the curriculum development may follow the following steps: (1) identifying factors or determinats that contribute to the curriculum development and conducting need analysis as well, (2) identifying the desired competency and profile of the graduates, (3) deciding knowledge, affection, and skills which are neede to build such competency, (4) designing the structure of the curriculum and establishing link and match, and (5) developing syllabus. In developing curriculum, especially in achieveing a link-and-match curriculum, the following principles should be implemented: relevance, continuity and integration.Kata Kunci: pengembangan kurikulum, kurikulum madrasah

Contextual teaching and learning (CTL) is one of approach that able to increase learning teaching quality. This approach can be applied to all academic material not only social  but also science. The  characteristic of this approach is the student directly gets the experience in learning process, so that learning is meaningfull.
