Abstract

This study was aimed at evaluating the CIPP model toward MGMP Chemistry teachers programs in Padang in 2008/2009 academic year. The study showed that Context and Input components were in good category. Process component referring to the actualization of programs which were relevant to the participants’ needs was well and fluently managed and in lack of obstacle category. Product component of the MGMP activities were suitable with the need and improved the participants’ professionalism was in good category. The result of the activities was successfully applied in schools. To conclude, the evaluation pointed out that the activities were in good category.Kata kunci: CIPP, context, input, process, product, MGMP.

Abstract

Rapid developments in information technology and communication today is based on the development of mathematics in the field of number theory, algebra, analysis, theory of chances and discrete mathematics. To master the technology and creating future required a strong mastery of mathematics from an early age. Standard mathematical competence and basic competence in elementary school (SD), Junior Secondary School (SMP) and High School (SMA) have been prepared with the intention to develop the ability to use mathematics in solving problems and communicating the idea or the idea of using symbols, tables, diagrams , and other media. At the elementary school where children are in the concrete operational stage and how to effectively communicate the idea of mathematical ideas is to use instructional media. This paper will try to review the instructional media as one means of communication of mathematics learning in elementary school (SD).Kata kunci: komunikasi, media pembelajaran

Abstract

This research focused on developing cooperative learning materials for biology of animal growth. This research therefore aimed designing teaching instructional, testing validity and testing practicality of the implementation of the materials upon the topic of animal growth in biology. This research employed research and development design. The first phase dealt with reconstruction or designing learning materials and the instrument that were used in cooperative learning. Next, testing instrument validity was done by expert. In the last phase, limited try out was conducted to figure out the practicality. The findings showed that learning materials and the supporting instruments were valid. Such learning materials included syllabus, lesson plans, students’ lab sheets, concept map manual and students’ achievement evaluation sheet. Implementation practicality was assessed from the cooperative learning process and students’ responses. The findings showed that the learning process was suitable with prepared syllabus and lesson plans, and students’ responses toward learning process was in good category.Kata kunci:    pembelajaran kooperatif, perangkat, instrumen, biologi perkembangan hewan

Abstract

Among the competences expected from teachers as stated in School-based Curriculum (KTSP) is the ability to develop instructional materials which are suitable with the students. However, the implementation shows that teachers still find it difficult to design and develop instructional materials. One of the ways is to develop instructional materials with picture and concept maps. This research was aimed at developing valid instructional materials. It was expected that those materials improve students’ comprehension toward biology concepts. This research employed Research and Development design which used 4-D (Four-D) Model. This model consisted of defining, designing, developing and disseminating. Data for the determination of the validity of Instructional materials were obtained from validity checklist. Validity included such aspects as 1) material, 2) presentation and 3) language and readability. The findings showed that instructional materials with picture and concept maps were valid. Specifically, the scores for such aspects as 1) material, 2) presentation and 3) language and readability were 3.36, 3.48, and 3.37 respectively.Kata kunci:    validitas bahan ajar bergambar, peta konsep untuk pembelajaran biologi

Abstract

This article discusses about the factors which may cause language death or language dissappear.  Based on some linguists’ research there are several factors that might cause the death of the language.  They are: natural disaster, war and ethnic clearance, epidemic sickness, hegemony of a foreign language, inferior of language sense, migration, political decision, and intercultural marriage problem.  In this article the writer would like to anlayze each point of the factors above.  The conclusion is a language is like other human life; born, live, develop, lying up and death.  This phenomenon is called survival of the fittest; the majority language will hit the minority language along its life.Kata kunci:  faktor, kematian, bahasa, dissappear

Abstract

The ability to use correct and appropriate language is the main requirement to carry out scientific activities since language is the fundamental scientific tool for communication. Communicative aspects should arrive at the highest level of the expected scientific communication. Furthermore, scientific works should not be limited to those of using popular language, i.e. sentence structures and terminologies, especially in communication among scientist. Understanding language aspects and terminologies of foreign language help language reasoning, both in terms of basic and derivational forms. Singular forms are more advisable except if the context tends to be plural. The choice of forms depends upon 1) situational context and sentence bound, 2) easiness in language learning, and 3) practicality.Kata kunci: aspek penalaran, pengajaran, bahasa Indonesia

Abstract

Teachers’ domination in teaching Mathematics is one of many factors why students disliked to study it. To solve this problem, a good method has to be promoted in order to improve students’ motivation and their ability in Mathematics. This research was an experimental research through Guide Discovery Method.  The subject of the research was the eleventh grade students of Physical Science (IPA) of SMAN 2 Padang who were registered in 2007/2008 academic year. The research result showed that there was different abilities between the students after getting treatment in which the students who were taught through Guide Discovery Method had good abilities rather than the students who were taugh conventionally.Kata kunci: Metode Penemuan Terbimbing, Pembelajaran Matematika

Abstract

Nowadays, lack of responsibility, uninterest of learning and other bad habits among the students had became real problem that was needed to be solved. Reflective Model was one solution to actualize character education where the students could understand and gain the materials given by a teacher. This research was done to the students of State College Islamic Studies (STAIN) Batusangkar who were registered in 2012/2013 academic year. The design of the research was Classroom Action Research. Abstract

The problem of this research was that there was a difference expression of anger between the societies who came from mountainous area (Pandeglang and Lebak) and western seashore area (Serang and Cilegon, Serang Regency) in Banten province. This might happened because they had different basic culture. Because of this phenomena, this reseach was aimed to know: 1) How is the basic emotional expression (including the feeling of anger, hate, scare, happy, sad, and surprise) of students in PGSD UPI Serang? 2) Was there any different expression of anger between between the societies who came from mountainous area  and western seashore area? The research design was descriptive qualitative research. The technique of collecting the data used by the researcher was through observing and giving questionnaire. Observing was done to the both groups of students by watching out their expression when watching a film under the title “The Ride”. Then, the questionnaire was distributed to them to know the description of their emotional feeling. From observasion to both groups of students, it was found that there was no different expression of anger between the societies who came from mountainous area (Pandeglang and Lebak) and western seashore area (Serang and Cilegon, Serang Regency) in Banten province, and expression is basicly universal (including the feeling of anger, hate, scare, happy, sad, and surprise).Kata kunci: emosi, ekspresi emosi, budaya, konseling multikultural

Abstract

Spritual aspect is an important component in starting a work because it correlates with work etiquette itself. This research is aimed to describe of how teaching in Islam concept about a work, guidances and councelling carrier, even doing spritual approaching in councelling carrier. Actually, moslem people were very lucky because all guidances have been stated clear. They just translate and apprecite them in daily, weekly, and mothly activities.
