Abstract

Ethnic diversity in the forms language, values way of life is the greatest gift from the Almighty God to Indonesian people. However, horizontal conflicts, such as among ethnic groups, religions, and the like, leave a big question: Does education fail to build and develop senses of humanity, brotherhood and unity? This implies that the application of present educational system has not yet successfully builds tough characters and develops creative ideas to solve problems concerning with economic crises. Furthermore, moral crises – slaughters, rapes, brawls, and the like – takes place everywhere. Dealing with moral crises, there are three big issues that can be proposed: 1) how schools reconstruct society to be more survived in the global era, 2) what types of education to strengthen our educational system, and 3) what are the chances of art education to unite and build character of nation.Kata kunci: mutu, pemahaman, sekolah

Abstract

Science and Islam are basically one, under the domain of wahidat al-Wujud. Within the domain, knowledge (science) has same unity and value to the knowledge of Allah. However, as it reached the earth, multi-fragmentation took place due to different capacity of human brain where generically it has different shape and limitation. One brain compared to the other one has its own portion which is called individualistic differentiation. Such individualistic differentiation is the realization of differences, limitations, and perspectives which are different from one another and similarity as well.

Abstract

Leadership pattern and management system will determine education quality of a country. The commonwealth countries have applied such pattern and system which are similar to their educational management. Australia, Canada, and England, for example, have reformed their educational system. As a result, they can produce good quality of education. This article analyzes leadership pattern and management system in the three mentioned commonwealth countries. By conducting comparison analysis, this situation is expected to be a guidance and example for educational management in Indonesia which in turn will improve the education quality.Kata kunci: pola kepemimpinan pendidikan, sistem manajemen pendidikan

Abstract

Leadership so central in attainment a purpose of institute nor organization. Leadership which trust and responsible can bring institute or organization of advance and grows. Leadership also very tightly of its(the bearing with power or power. Prospective leadership determined by the leader becoming top leader from an institute or organization. a leader must have leadership soul having the character of transformatif which sensitive of tehadap change and tunututan its(the area, so that organization led by it is permanent excise and becomes winner in competition of itself change. Leader of education must do orthogonal transformation of leadership through tuition giving, manual and fomentation to led by it that purpose of institute can be reached. Abstract

Basically, human growth is in line with their development. This implies that if the growth taking place within individuals runs well, so does the development. Growth and development experienced by the individuals are unique since they are influenced by several factors which are different from one individual to the others. In general, those factors are religious (spiritual), organobiologic, social and cultural, psycho-educative. In terms of educational practices, none of those factors, in holistic approach, is ignored. Abstract

Evaluation is aimed at figuring out whether predetermined purposes have been successfully met and to decide what instructional materials and competency should be achieved by the students. In the context of Arabic learning, such instructional materials and competency should be relevant to the evaluation. Consequently, evaluating speaking skill by means of reading test will never take place. Abstract

At present, it is suspected that students study biology as product and memorize related concepts, theories and laws. Conversely, biology as content or product, process or methods, attitude and technology are rarely applied that makes the subject not as a whole piece and less interesting. Such phenomena challenges the teacher to be more creative and innovative in developing practical learning supports which are simple and easy to be used by both students and teachers. This research aimed at developing worksheets (LKS) for biology subject intended for grade 8 of junior high school students under the topic of photosynthesis employing valid, practical and effective science process skill approach. This study belonged to research and development one. Learning support is developed by means of Four-D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). ‘Disseminate’ is not done. Data collections were conducted by validating and trying out of the learning support. Validations were conducted by six experienced and qualified validators while try out was conducted by applying it to the grade 8 students of SMP Dedikasi Edukasi Kualiva (DEK) Padang to figure out practicality and effectiveness. The study showed that the worksheet using environment-based science process skill approach was in very valid category. Students’ responses toward the worksheet showed positive result with an average response was ≥ 80%. It can be concluded that the worksheet was valid, practical and easy to use.Kata kunci: LKS, keterampilan proses sains

Abstract

Lack of ability in comprehending English texts is students’ big problem nowadays. They fail in comprehending or grasping information from reading materials. As a result, their motivation decreases which in turn can inhibit their reading comprehension. In reading comprehension class, those difficulties faced by the students may be caused by many factors such as, reading materials, teaching method, media used and so forth. Related to the problem, cloze procedure technique can be used as an alternative technique for teaching reading. And, under the teacher’s supervision the students also can enrich their reading skill, even their English vocabulary through this technique.Kata kunci: reading, reading skill, cloze procedure, technique

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between teachers’ perception about supervision and teaching effectiveness. The data was obtained from 40 teachers. The instrument used in this research was questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using SPSS proram. The result of this study shown that the correlation between teachers’ perception about supervision and teaching effectiveness was 0.43. the contribution of teachers’ perception variable was 0.18% to teaching effectiveness variable.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by the lack of social interaction among students to improve the quality of understanding and learning. Yet this is very important  to achieve maximum results in learning, including the habit of students to give feedback, criticism, responses, compliments to each other; mutual energies and thoughts to the group; more concerned with common interests rather than personal interests; mutual aid among fellow members of the group to ensure that all members understand the task they are doing; and they not only contribute but also learn something from the group. Therefore, this study discusses about how the image of students HTI in learning math is done cooperatively. The method used is descriptive quantitative research, the subjects are students of SMPN 5 Bandung totaling 29 person. The instrument that this research used was a questionnaire and observation sheet. The result of this research show that students’ HTI in learning cooperative are good, such as they are care/emphathize to the others feeling and thought, to look at and listen to others with understanding and empathy, showing their independence in learning and collaborative team.Kata Kunci: Habit of Thinking Interdependently (HTI), Pembelajaran Kooperatif
