Jurnal Kala Nea adalah jurnal Open Access yang mempublikasikan artikel-artikel hasil penelitian di bidang teologi Kristen dan Pendidikan Agama Kristen. <![CDATA[Purgatory is a state, place of purification or temporary punishment. According to Catholic teaching, purgatory refers to a state, or place, where the soul of the dead is purified. There, it is cleansed of unpardonable sin. However, the teaching of purgatory has no place in Christian theology. Therefore, the purpose of writing this scientific work is to explain and describe the theological review of purgatory in Roman Catholic teaching based on biblical truth and implications for the lives of believers. The author uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The discussion in this study shows that only the blood of Jesus can erase and purify humans and nothing else. Everyone who lives in Christ will not experience condemnation.]]>

<![CDATA[The development of social media as a digital platform cannot be separated from daily human activities. However, this development not only has a positive impact but also has a negative influence on some people, especially teenagers. All stakeholders, especially families and churches, must have the responsibility and become navigators to direct and fill self-identity in adolescents based on the values of the Word of God. This research seeks to explore the influence of digital platforms, namely social media, on adolescent identity crises. The method used in this research is a quantitative method through distributing questionnaires to teenagers aged 12-17 years from junior high school to high school. The results found that on average these teenagers spend five hours a day connected to social media. The author found that the significant value of using social media such as TikTok, Instagram, Youtube and Facebook on behavior is 0.63> 0.05, meaning it is not significant. Likewise, social media on emotions and trust values. This research aims to motivate teenagers to use digital platforms properly and beneficially for everyone.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of writing this thesis is to find out the meaning of the phrase “help bear your burdens,” based on Galatians 6:1-5. The research method used is a qualitative research method with inductive reasoning, using an exegesis approach through the application of the principles and methods of Biblical Hermeneutics by Hasan Sutanto. After doing the research, the writer came to the following conclusions: First, the meaning of the phrase help bear your burdens is a form of command to believers who accidentally slip into a violation because they take the wrong step in his faith. Fellowship of believers must help bear the heavy burdens of fellow transgressors, so that he has greater and faster opportunites to recover from his transgressions (6:1b), so that in the end he returns to true faith and experiences spiritual growth in Jesus Christ. Second, the meaning of the phrase help bear your burdens states that Paul’s command in verse 2a and his statement in verse 5, do not contradict each other. Third, the meaning of the phrase help bear your burdens reveals God’s truth about the call of life for believers to bear two kinds of burdens in life. The first burden is a burden that must be borne together as a community, because it is very burdensome and cannot be borne alone (6:2a). Then the second burden is the work of service that God has given to each believer to bear (6:5).]]>

<![CDATA[The Cristian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) adalah organisasi yang dibentuk oleh salah satu tokoh misi yaitu Albert Benjamin Simpson. Sekitar pada tahun 1897, Simpson mendirikan dua buah organisasi The Cristian Alliance (Perserikatan Kristen), dan The Evangelical Missionary Alliance (Perserikatan Injil untuk Pengutusan ke Luar Negeri). Kedua misi ini digabung menjadi The Cristian and Missionary Alliance. Sejarah C&MA sebagai implikasi menjadi salah satu faktor utama mendorong pertumbuhan gereja melalui penginjilan. Penginjilan adalah usaha memberitakan kasih Allah melalui Yesus Kristus dalam kuasa Roh Kudus yang dilakukan oleh umat Allah, supaya semua orang yang percaya kepada-Nya tidak binasa melainkan beroleh hidup yang kekal (Yoh. 3:16). Metode yang digunakan peneliti ialah metode deskriptif. Metode deskriptif adalah metode yang dipakai untuk menyelidiki suatu masalah melalui objek atau subjek berupa orang, lembaga, masyarakat dan yang lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan penginjilan masa kini harus mengakui Yesus sebagai Juruselamat, dan berjiwa misi atau menyadari panggilan untuk bermisi. Amanat Agung ini diberikan kepada setiap orang percaya, dan bukan saja kepada para pemimpin gereja.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper reviews the gift of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. The method used in writing this topic is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The role and function of the Holy Spirit based on 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11 is to enlighten believers in preaching the gospel. The purpose of the gift of the Holy Spirit is to help in the ministry of the Digital Church and to show that the power of God is more dominant than the powers of the universe. In preaching the gospel, the function of the gifts of the Holy Spirit has a very important role. Preaching the Gospel is the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, and the responsibility of believers. The purpose of this paper is to explain how the gifts of the spirit function in the ministry of the church in digital. In 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11 the Apostle Paul further explains how about healing in the church? In 1 Corinthians 12 there is an answer from Paul to the Corinthians' question about the gifts of the Spirit. There are various kinds of gifts: the gift of healing, the gift of prophecy, the gift of discernment of spirits, and the gift of tongues. These gifts are given for the purpose of assisting, helping and facilitating the ministry of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God.]]>

<![CDATA[Domestic Violence (KDRT) can happen anywhere and to anyone, including the congregation. The research objectives to be achieved from this study are to describe the role of the church in congregational domestic violence victims and to describe the study of pastoral counseling for victims of domestic violence. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. In writing this research the author wants to explain the role of the church in the congregation to help victims of domestic violence, with several forms that the church does, namely: first: paying attention to victims and visiting victims in giving care in the sense of hearing complaints and strengthening and providing input that can help a victim (pastoral counseling). Second: providing assistance in the form of medical treatment and psychological (mental) treatment. So the role of the church is also to help victims of domestic violence that can happen to the congregation, and the church can build a Christian family based on belief in Jesus Christ.]]>

<![CDATA[Expansion of evangelism to the whole world. William Carey is a modern evangelical figure. He was born into a poor family in Northamptonshire, England, on August 17, 1761 in a rural environment his parents were members of the Anglican Church and Carey received baptism in the church. Carey learned to make shoes from a shoemaker, Clarke Nichols. With the help of the English evangelist Carey was able to publish a translation of the New Testament into Bengali in 1801. The formulation of the problem in this discussion is the mission of William Carey and how it implies for believers today. The purpose of writing, with this writing can help readers to know about the life and evangelization of William Carey and how it implies for today's ministers of God. The church today has a huge responsibility. The church must have a great missionary spirit to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ which He gave to the disciples when He was taken up to heaven (Matthew 28: 18-20) is the basis for everyone who has become a disciple of Christ.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this article is to find out the meaning of Jesus cursed the fig tree based on Matthew 21:18-22 and the implications for those who believe today. This study uses qualitative research methods with inductive reasoning and the application of biblical hermeneutic principles and methods (biblical interpretation). The conclusion of this article is, Jesus' curse on the fig tree is a symbol and lesson of faith. Some of the differences found in Matthew and Mark occur because of differences in writing contexts and different purposes, a life that produces fruit, a life with a pure heart, a life that cares about the environment, and a life that relies on God.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian tentang ajaran teoigis Hyper-grace dalam Roma 5:20 dimaksudkan untuk mencari jawaban apakah ajaran tentang hyper-grace sebagai kasih karunia yang bertentangan dengan ajaran Alkitab mengenai kasih karunia. Dalam Perjanjian Lama Allah menunjukan kasih karunia-Nya kepada bangsa Israel melalui nabi-nabi dan mujizat-mujizat yang Allah lakukan bagi bangsa Israel untuk menyelamatkan mereka dari perbudakan dosa dan perbudakan fisik. Sedangkan dalam Perjanjian Baru Allah menyatakan kasih karunia-Nya melalui pengorbanan Yesus Kristus diatas kayu salib untuk menyelamatkan manusia dari kutukan dosa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti apakah kasih karunia tersebut mengampuni dosa manusia dahulu, sekarang dan yang akan datang serta kasih karunia tersebut membuat manusia bebas dalam melakukan dosa? Sampai saat ini, hal ini menjadi sebuah perbedebatandiantara ajaran-ajaran Kristen. Penelitian ini mendapat beberapa keleriuan dari ajaran hyper-grace yaitu ajaran ini menentang hukum Taurat dengan alasan bahwa hukum Taurat ditambahkan agar dosa bertambah semakin banyak. Dalam Roma 5:20 adalahpenjelasan rasul Paulus agar manusia sadar bahwa kasih karunia Allah memiliki kekuatan yang memiliki maut dan ayat tersebut bermaksud agar manusia dapat melihat bahwa meskipun mereka melakukan yang jahat dimata Allah, Allah memiliki kasih yang luar biasa untuk mengampuni mereka dengan demikian manusia sadar akan dosanya dan berbalik kepada Allah.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses the biblical concept in Matthew 10:16-33 about persecution. Just as Jesus was persecuted, so in the life of a believer, there is no such thing as being persecuted. Persecution is an act that results in people being injured and can also lose their lives. Persecution is also related to suffering in the lives of believers. The method used in this article uses a qualitative method in which this method is used to examine scientific objects and the author is a key instrument in the researcher. This goal is to mature believers spiritually, create a unity in the body of Christ, the church grows, and evangelism grows to win souls for the glory of His name.]]>
